  • Andy ties one of his favourite river flies for grayling, the Baby Pink Caddis. Great in a team in a euro nymph or french / czech style team of flies, or fished on it's own New Zealand style or even under an indicator! A great fly for a learner or a beginner, but a must have for the avid grayling flyfisher. Follow this step by step of how to tie the Baby Pink Caddis, and find the material list below!

    I've always got a pair of pliers nearby to help me get my super glue top open when it gets stuck.

    Hi Andy, thanks for sharing your fly's I like simple fly's they seem to work just as effective as complicated ones and as much as I enjoy tying I would much rather be out on the water fishing. Hope that the two of you have a wonderful Christmas and a happy and prosperous New year, all the best Mike

      Totally agree Mike, if this was complicated then there's no way I'd be able to do it!

    Great to see you back, nice tree, just got ours up. It’s been a very poor time for all of us, you’re not suffering on your own, ha ha. Have a great Christmas both of you. Look forward to more vlogs in the new year. Hoping to convince my fishing buddy to try a French leader when we are back at our favourite venue, Mulberry Whinn chalk stream at Driffield. All the best.

    Man after my own heart with the simple flies Andy, nothing wrong with tying proper fishing flies, they undoubtedly catch the most fish. Might give that one a spin, where do you get the baby pink beads from? Good to see (IBs video) that the rivers have improved and you're getting some fishing. Happy New Year to you both, hopefully I'll see you at some point! Chloe mentioned yesterday she'd like to go fishing again.

      I'm not a good enough fly tyer to go for the super imitative stuff Tom, I'm a simple man! Did you find the link to the beads in the description? It's great that she wants to go again, get something planned!

    Have you tried this tied on a jig hook with a slotted bead rather than a counter-sunk bead? Do you think it would make much difference to its efficacy?

    Great fly Andy, I first saw it on a blog somewhere a couple of years ago, tied a few up and have found them really effective on the Dove (where I fish, it usually carries a little colour so it's just the correct level of brightness without spooking fish). I've had a dozen or more fish, taken it off, had nothing then put it back on again and like magic, they're switched on again! Would be interesting to know how you arrived at the unusual colour combo - red wire rib and pale pink bead especially - or is it just different to anything else? Great video, too!

    • @IBandAndyFishing
      @IBandAndyFishing  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The truth about this one is that I ordered the wrong beads once! I was tying bugs for coloured water using fluo orange and fluo pink beads, one day these turned up so I gave them a try and couldn't believe it!

      @@IBandAndyFishing it's amazing how sometimes you are almost given a nudge into trying something that you wouldn't have thought of before! It's a great fly, though, and has caught me plenty of decent brownies as well as very good grayling. Thanks for all the vlogs, by the way, they are just about keeping me sane! Tight lines…
