Embark on an epic medieval odyssey as a valiant knight navigating three perilous realms in pursuit of treasure and survival. Each realm presents unique challenges, featuring ever-shifting mazes that test your wit and resilience.
In the Forest stage, confront three increasingly formidable dragons. The Castle hosts a confrontation with six powerful wizards, while the Dungeon pits you against nine sinister demons. What sets this game apart is the knight's reliance on animals or entities (stage-dependent) that grant temporary invincibility or - better said - a deadly touch against adversaries.
Our paladin is armed only with a sword that - inexplicably - cannot be used - relying solely on these magical powers. Consequently, a single touch from enemies without invincibility spells results in the loss of a life.
Initially aided by blue bats (which shift black after completing the first loop), followed by a hard-to-catch mouse, and culminating with a randomly appearing skull in the final level, these entities provide the previously mentioned lethal touch.
Throughout the journey, various items randomly appear. While most aid in stage clearance (including a cup granting the death touch), some of them complicate matters, like a golden comb halving my score just when an extra life seemed within reach, lol.
Despite its surface simplicity, the game demands strategic evasion and calculated chases. Shifting from being pursued to becoming the pursuer creates unexpected, humorous moments. Enemies switch roles upon realizing the player's newfound power, fleeing from imminent danger.
Moreover, the game's challenge extends its length. Defeating enemies takes time; spending ten minutes on a single area isn't uncommon. Losing lives is also expected, making completion a true accomplishment, distinct from recently discussed titles.
Overall, it's a satisfyingly challenging journey that rewards both strategy and perseverance.
