Fantastic video! From the beginning i was captivated by your naturally relaxed and professional way of delivering this information.....well done! Very informative, and a great help to all that will watch your video! Thanks both! ❤
I’ve watched a few of your videos and really enjoy your natural and calming delivery style. You do a wonderful job of being informative without seeming scripted, and love your dynamic and how you share the narration nicely. I’ve often thought of a Nile cruise and found this video so educational.
As always, together with the other linked videos, a really informative and well crafted insight into both the ship, sights and culture. Great to see Helen practising for “Strictly”.
I love your videos! It allows me to see the world - something I wanted to do but cant due to health reasons so I'm living it vicariously through your channel. 🥰💞
That's what i love about Uniworld, their ships are never subtle they are totally unique! We have done four Uniworld cruises now and are doing this one next year so thanks so much for the useful information!
Thats funny, we did that last September, we loved it! I personally wasn't keen on the cabin decor but the public rooms are stunning! Enjoy! Sitting up on the top deck while sailing is magical especially passing Pellegrino, make sure you film that, and the pizzas are amazing!
We also LOVED EGYPT, we cruised on the Movenpick Nile Lily but we found it hard to find an itinerary that didn't dawdle down the Nile for a week and waste a ton of time. Ours was just a couple nights from Aswan to Luxor and then we flew from Luxor to Cairo instead of spending extra days on the river instead of exploring. But...that was hard to find. What an amazing place. Everyone should go!
@@visitwithus Enjoyed revisiting some of the same places we had been a couple years ago! We were lucky enough to stay at both 4 Seasons in Cairo....So good!
I remember being in awe of this cruise on your Instagram - it's such a bucket list route for me, and this is doing it in absolute style - I love the look of it! I've always wondered about the security element of Egypt after my friends told me they had to go through airport-style security in Sharm - I guess it's just something you need to get used to... Brilliant video!
I agree it's a once in a lifetime visit and the ship was very beautiful, although quite different as you noted. I think it's sometimes very hard to see the dichotomies of the human condition in places like Egypt and it can be quite difficult. Thanks so much for sharing.
Great video - we are off to Egypt for 2 weeks in August which will be immensely hot but thankfully not as humid as it gets where we live in Australia. Can I just say Rich, that your voiceover brought the narrator of the fabulous Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy straight to mind! Just made me enjoy it even more, as if I was travelling with the HG advising me of the delights of the Nile 😂❤ - well done!
May I commend on your excellent, professional-grade video. Thank you for bringing back vivid memories. We visited Egypt March 2017 in company of 8 friends. As you said, it was unique and most of all - a lifetime experience. Egypt should certainly be on everyone’s bucket list. Although there are a lot of heritage and cultures in Europe, there is nothing like Egypt. City-wise, Cairo is quite appalling compared with normal European cities. But didn’t matter. Destinations like Giza, Karnak, and Luxor have no equals. Thanks.
We took a cruise on the Nile almost a year to the day before the Arab Spring and it was very stressful when the tourist police asked if you wanted them to take your photo. It was with the late Thomas Cook and was fabulous. But the wake up call came at 6am everyday and most had early nights. We only got off the boat for excursions and a walk alone around Aswan. But would love to return. Another wonderfully photographed and informative video!
You don’t have to tip them but most passengers did - ours was excellent! The gratuities for the crew were included in the fare but not for the Egyptologists. Thanks for watching 😊
Lovely looking ship but I picked up on the comfort side before you mentioned it. The public area lounges/seats looked like those old horse hair padded seats: rigid and uncomfortable. Not for lingering. But it wouldn’t stop me going. Great historic country.
unfortunately I don't agree with the "its not recommended to go out alone and explore idea"...I have traveled 79 countries of the world (including India, Pakistan, Afghanistan...etc) and some of my best times were exploring on my own, meeting locals, hanging out with locals..etc... and NEVER, EVER did I feel unsafe. The main (and only) reason tour companies don't want you to "go out alone" is that they want you to buy only from their pre-determined shops and friends, for which they are getting a cut of. I'm not saying don't use a tour company, but also do go out on your own any chance you get. 🙂
Yes, they did on our voyage but I think it depends on your itinerary so probably worth asking your TA. Hope you enjoy your cruise and time in Egypt. Thanks for watching 👍
How long are the Tours/excursions? do you come back to the ship for lunch. and then tour some more? Just trying to get an idea of how strenuous the days will be? Thank you
The tours are usually 2-3 hours long (some are longer if they are further from the ship) and usually are early in the morning and mid to late afternoon (to avoid the heat of the day). You always come back to the ship for lunch which is waiting for you when you get back. There are lots of early morning starts but also plenty of time to rest in between tours. And you obviously don’t have to go on every excursion if you want some down time 👍
Thank you so much for this amazing video. As much as I want to visit this part of the world along with India and such I just don’t think I can. It would be just too devastating to see children living that way.
Nice video, I never go with a guide, always by my self if so much better, I never book ahead, so much better than a guide, guides are rip offs $$$ and don't forget tip, tip, tip, tip, tip, I tell them in Arabic Halus! lala shukran, I made friends in Egypt and stay at there house, real Egypt. OMG 4 seasons Hotel$$$$$$$ you can stay right in front of the Pyramids $50 with breakfast and that's expensive, try it by yourselves instead of being led around.

Thank you Caz. Hope you had a great trip. We’re in Australia at the moment and can confirm it is very hot 🥵 😂
I am doubting about going to the USA next year or Egypt, but the Nile River cruise is very nice! I am from The Netherlands myself

Great video, very helpful! Do you have to pay additional tip at the end of the trip for the crew/egyptologist/etc or is that a part of the price?
You don’t have to tip them but most passengers did - ours was excellent! The gratuities for the crew were included in the fare but not for the Egyptologists.

Definitely shouldn’t stop you from going - it’s a very minor niggle on the grand scheme of a voyage like this 👍
Thanks for watching 😊

Great video! I'm doing this exact cruise in December. It appears they flew Air Arabia for the flights within Egypt. Yes?
Yes, they did on our voyage but I think it depends on your itinerary so probably worth asking your TA.
Hope you enjoy your cruise and time in Egypt.

Another great video. Question: Are there king size beds in any of the suites?
Thanks Michael 😊
Really not sure, sorry. We found our bed very comfortable though 👍

❤❤❤
Thank you for watching. ☺️
The prices at Panache seem higher than anywhere else I have looked.
That’s not something we’ve ever heard before. I’m sure they will not only price match but do you a better deal. Totally confident of that. 👍🙂
How much??
Thanks for watching. That depends who you sail with, when you go, what type of room you choose etc etc etc. 👍
how much did you pay for the papyrus family tree souvenir
I really can’t remember the exact cost but think it was around $50.
I paid $10 in Cairo
I thought all Uniworld cruises were all inclusive? I’m confused, I thought that was their whole gimmick?
Generally they are, except in Egypt where, for some reason, alcohol isn’t included. Everything else the same though 👍
You still get wine and beer with your meals though 🍷
Thank you for this. Wish i could do the same trip one day too. I simply love your life!!!! Have you ever considered adoption? I'm only 45 🤣
Haha! Thanks Randy. I'm afraid there's a bit of a queue forming for adoption. For some reason our family seems to be expanding! 😂
