You guys know the irony of this?
He did all this cause he was spoiled and didn’t want to get a job. He wanted everything handed to him.
Now he’s going to prison and getting everything for free. Free bed, food and clothes.

He wasn't done, he left but was going to return back to dump their bodies down the toilet. That is why he left his backpack, didn't clean. He didn't figure that his mothers work would call for a welfare check. How would he know that co workers take note when you miss a day because they rely on you at work. They always tell the story of how someone died once so they call just incase. Especially if you have a close knit workplace. He wouldn't know, he hasn't ever had a job. The one flaw that nailed the case...

So true....he is almost literally a male Jodi Arias, with the compulsive weird behavior like the water drinking, the smug and egotistical look on their faces, the supremely narcissistic confidence, the way everyone testified about how odd their behavior is and everyone sees it but them....so many things ....and I would pay good money to watch Jodi Arias have to wear a plastic face shield for the entire 5 month long trial. I believe that would probably embarrass her more then the infamous recording of the May phone call.....( again, my making fun of JG jr. and and Jodi Arias wearing masks or face shields is ONLY because of their being horrid monsters, and no one else looks weird or funny. I completely support wearing
      Masks and shields!).

An outcast of the family murdering the parents, looking at him and his family dynamics, plus no friends loner. I am not surprised he did that. He stabbed the body so many times, it’s hatred. He has so much hate to the parents and the family, maybe the world too. There’s a Jewish doctor told my mom when I was a child, “if you cannot provide (insert whatever it is money or love) to this child on constant bases, then don’t constantly provide in the first place.” That is the key. The parents keep enabling him to live in their house, be weird, be mooching off of them. And then trying it cut him completely out because they cannot provide any longer. I understand they love him, but that is probably not express in an healthy way. If you keep providing and stop it? It became your fault. “Normal” people would be grateful and walk away, he ain’t “normal” or even close to be that. And, I think we are all weird and different in some way, so I’m not going to judge what is being “normal” because I don’t know what “normal” really is. No such thing as evil. Calling people evil suggests that's just how they are. They're evil, they can't help it. That's not the case.
Mental illness, however, is often very real and very disturbing. Family relationship being broken are also very real and can be extremely disturbing. The darkest, cruelest parts of human nature are still parts of human nature. To dismiss them as evil removes our ability to learn about them or understand and prevent them.
What police need is better mental healthcare and counseling to cope with these situations.

There was clearly a dramatic disconnect between Joel Guy Senior's sisters, daughters (and their children, his grandkids), and his and Lisa's only child Joel Junior. The killer's self imposed isolation and aloofness from every family member but his parents (who he exploited and sponged off), is very revealing.
Every family member says they were close to Joel Guy Snr and his wife Lisa, but that they had vey little contact with Joel Junior. The victims were obviously a gregarious, sociable, loving and much loved couple. But together they produced a child who was the total opposite - so extremely different to them, he was capable of this horrific, depraved crime against them. They loved him very much - why didn't he love them?
I believe Joel Guy Jnr was born with a psychopath's brain, and that brain scans would confirm he has weakened pathways to the areas controlling emotions like love, empathy, remorse, guilt and even fear. This means he always had the potential for violence. Everything about his physical appearance and demeanour rings alarm bells. One of his half sisters said he was uncharacteristically friendly to her kids on their Thanksgiving visit. She was so concerned about them being alone with him, their uncle, in his bedroom, that she looked in and checked they were OK. The family was clearly well aware there was something amiss with Joel Guy Jnr. But it seems his parents protected him and bolstered his ego, creating an egotistical and entitled monster.
It used to be assumed killers like him had suffered cruel, abusive childhoods. But more and more often, psychologists are identifying that an indulgent childhood, in which parents spoil a child and fail to set down firm and consistent boundaries and expectations of good behaviour, can create dangerous narcissists who will even kill to get what they want.
This guy stole his parents' lives in the most violent way possible, because they wanted to enjoy a retirement free of his ongoing financial burden. What's more, he planned to inherit the money they had put by to live on for the rest of their lives. He is a totally self serving, evil psychopath and sadly his loving parents unwittingly helped to create the monster.

    • @glamdolly30
      @glamdolly30 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

@@uyoebyik Yes, his parents certainly thought they were doing everything they could to help him. But we see the horrific, tragic end result of their over indulgent parenting. There can be little doubt their son needed psychiatric help from a young age to prepare him to live an independent life as a well balanced adult, but didn't get it.
We've seen many parental murder cases like this - devoted parents who loved their dysfunctional child unconditionally and believed the best way to raise him was to pretend there was nothing amiss with him. But burying their head in the sand and living in denial - in effect rewarding the child's unpleasant and anti social behaviour - was not the right course of action.
Facing facts and acknowledging they had conceived a child who was socially 'off', withdrawn, lacking in empathy and affection, possibly even displaying nasty behavioural issues (eg to do with toileting or cruelty to animals/other children), would have given him a chance to change. But by choosing tolerance and denial, they did him, and ultimately themselves, no favours at all.
Approaching 30, Joel Guy Jr had never had so much as a Saturday job to earn pocket money. He lived on parental hand outs his entire life. His 'reason' for never working? He was in higher education, and preparing to become a cosmetic surgeon. It seems a laughable notion that the spooky, boggle-eyed eccentric would ever actually set up in practice, dealing face to face with patients - and winning their trust.
This was clearly a fantasy shared by Joel Jr and his parents (I doubt his three half-sisters were ever convinced by his supposed career plan). In 2016 the time had long passed for Joel Jr to gain the necessary medical qualifications. But even putting aide his academic shortcomings, a man as warped as him could not possibly hope to succeed in such a respected and high profile role. We saw in court how strange and unnerving he was - who would entrust their face to him for a cosmetic surgery procedure?
Lisa Guy went into full time work purely to give her entire salary to her one biological child, to pay his fees for medical school, pay his rent, car, petrol, food, utilities and every other adult expense he had. He clearly had no intention of even working weekends as a waiter, or any of the other multiple, part time work students typically undertake to support themselves. Why would he - his mother bankrolled him so generously, he had no need to work.
And yet money aside, these youthful part-time jobs give young people invaluable early social interaction with the outside world, which helps mould them into well socialised adults. It would surely have been a positive experience for Joel Jr to get out into the world and interact with other people - work colleagues, bosses and perhaps the public. This is a rites of passage for most of us, and we look back on those first jobs we did in our teens and twenties as valuable learning curves that helped us to mature.
Were Lisa and Joel actually trying to protect their son from the outside world, by ensuring he didn't need to work? Were they actually well aware of his social awkwardness, and his strange, loner profile (he was so anti social, he did't even mix with his own family on holidays like Thanksgiving, choosing instead to lock himself away in his bedroom). If his mom and dad thought they were protecting Joel Jr by mollycoddling him and keeping him dependent on them throughout his twenties, sadly they couldn't have been more wrong
Lisa's ongoing, full-time financial support of her adult son is extreme by any standard. The Guys were not a wealthy couple, but a hard working one. Everything they owned, they had worked for - there were no handouts or free rides for them. Yet they ensured their only biological child together lived a life that was nothing but one endless free ride! I wonder if Lisa's husband, Joel's father, ever questioned the fairness or wisdom of her working full time purely to keep their grown son draining their resources, years past his childhood?
Parental murders carried out by Chandler Halderson, Grant Amato, Dellen Millard and other spoiled sons, share striking similarities. An over indulgent mother and an emotionally disconnected father feature in all. And in each case, the killer's parents wilfully refused to acknowledge there was anything amiss with their child. Instead of expecting good behaviour they threw money and love at the problem - helping to create entitled, arrogant monsters. Because while parents might love their children unconditionally, the outside world does not. The good things of life - relationships, a career, a home, hobbies and everything else, won't be handed to your kids on a plate. They will have to work hard to achieve them. Society owes them nothing!
But with serious personality disorders left unacknowledged, unidentified and untreated throughout childhood and into their twenties when they killed, these young men were on a fast track to homicide. And their parents must be allocated their share of blame for that. They failed to prepare their warped sons for the real world, by failing to give them the tools to become independent, well adjusted members of society who could give something back. Hindsight's a wonderful thing of course and we don't know much at all about these killers' childhoods. But what we do know points to dysfunctional behaviour, and parents who looked the other way and pretended there was nothing wrong with their offspring - allowing a ticking time bomb of resentment and rage to develop, that would one day explode in sickening violence.

They made that monster! No one told them to take a mortgageon their house to pay for his classes or for her to continue to work to pay his rent! Maybe if they taught him how to be self sufficient and the importance of it as a kid, he wouldn't have been so dependent upon them as an adult. Give a man a fish, you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, you feed him for a lifetime. Instead, they doted upon their only child and created a lazy, dependent, entitled monster! I'm not saying what he did was right. The same thing happened with the Menendez brothers. They grew up doted upon and was afforded a lifestyle unlike normal kids. Once their parents decided to put their feet down and teach their sons a lesson, those boys plotted a scheme and killed their parents. Why? Because they were afraid they would have to fend for themselves and mad that the money tree was being taken away! They felt their parents were worth more dead than alive. A little bit of information for you: Don't wait til your kids are grown to try and teach them life lessons. You should start doing that when they are small. Another thing, stop trying to give your kids the freaking world, you will only ruin them because they will grow up believing everyone should spoil them!

So Michelle testified that Joel Jr was talking to all and following her around, i'm thinking (when she was there doing her laundry) he already knew what he was going to do & he knew he would be arrested. So he could've been spending time because he knew he would soon be locked up OR maybe he wanted to do his plan that evening and her being there put a cramp in his plan. She also testified that she noticed totes in his car...so maybe he did want to do it the day Michelle was there doing her laundry.

I always wonder what the defense lawyer(s) think/feel knowing the individual sitting beside them, just a short time before, was covered in his parent’s blood from having cut them, remorselessly, to pieces. I understand the right to a defense and that insanity pervades some people’s brains, but this would be beyond my ability or desire to defend him.

His lack of empathy, the way he enjoys the images at the scene lead towards a strong case of the guy being a antisocial sociopath.

I've wondered that too but more research into this case (I'm from just a couple hours from where it happened so it was all over our news non stop), I found out he was highly intelligent. When first hearing the story and how he'd been in college for 10 years but had never had a job, I thought he must've been dumb as a coal bucket. But he was in programs and special schools from a pretty young age for the gifted and talented. My opinion is they ignored his quirks because he was **so** intelligent....they likely thought he was a full blown genius...that he was emotionally immature and just hugely different from 'normal' people. The Guys weren't stupid and all of their other children were disciplined and ended up being well-adjusted, hard working, happy adults. I really feel like they didn't realize it was a problem and was why they'd done so much for him. They had to have felt like he was going to do major and amazing things with his life one day. So freakin' sad.

So you get someone smart and capable in the academic sense, who plans ahead. But there are huge gaps in there where there should be a sense of morality, common sense, planning for the fact his parents would struggle and fight back so it was likely he'd be injured.

So Joel was going to kill the dog as well (written in his notebook) then crossed it out. But how would he explain that the dog was with him (if he intended to keep it). His whole plan was a giant faux pas. He just didn't have any idea that he would not be able to deal with such a mess after doing the deed. It seems he was clueless. None if it makes any sense. He is so weird and looks almost baffled that he is even on trial.

Watching from Montreal Canada..this case is so horrific. These poor parents ( his dad and step - mum Lisa ) giving this non -communtive, socially stunted family member a roof over his head and food in his belly. How can one get their head around this..was it possibly because they were selling the house and told him it was finally time to stand on his own two feet and his ability to accept this unfathomable ? He's certainly not of sound mind, to me he seems to be enjoying the attention he's getting now of these horrific acts asif now he is of some importance to be recognized. Whether he is a sick narrsissist or simply an overgrown boy for me makes no matter..there are two innocent people who loved and cared for him that he repaid in nothing short of an MacBethian Tragedy. Why he had to mutilate them is beyond anyone's understanding...it profoundly pulls the tread of " the road of good intentions ..." either way this man will never be free, he will always be the man who never learned that communication is EVERYTHING when red flags are flying around everywhere and no one is catching them ..may God and only God have mercy upon his hateful soul.

Lesson to parents- do not allow your kids to be reclusive shut-ins. If you do not socialize them they will most likely be weird and struggle in life. Take their video games away from them and make them interact with people.

Sadly, it sounds like he always had some kind of issues. You can tell they were raised in a great home but the youngest only child had major issues. LSU isn’t cheap. When people are super withdrawn from other people to that extent, you just might get killed by that child. I’d be willing to bet he didn’t have any friends at LSU either!!! This is truly 😞 I’d be willing to bet no matter what they had done he would’ve eventually killed them.

Not having friends or few friends doesn’t mean you will do this sort of crime. Lots of people outthere with social anxiety or social phobia but they’re perfectly sane in every other way, they’d never hurt a fly .
This guy is a sociopath and I’m sure signs of his odd behaviour would have been present in him as a child . As an adult he would have done well to hide it . He would have killed an individual or several sooner or later even if it wasn’t his parents . Is that what sociopaths and psychopaths eventually do?
