Rich watching this video was both emotional and amazing. What a fabulous job you have done and you really have an amazing talent. I agree with Gavin, everything about the video was perfect. Thank you so much x
Just offered to do a ring for someone who lost their son last year. Found your video and found it great to see how you did it with a pigment powder mixed in. Thanks for the video!
Your very welcome. You will enjoy the feeling when it's done and you know how much it will meen to that person, It never gets old. Thanks for watching and please stick around I'd love to see how it turns out please feel free to message me over on my socials.
You made that look extremely easy! I have purchased a mini lathe especially for this purpose. I now know that I definitely need to upgrade my cutters. Also, where did you find the mandrel you are using? I fashioned one out of nylon spacers that I cut into bushings.
Hi Justin Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment. The mandrel i use is a pen turner mandrel from Amazon, and I 3D printed the grey cone-shaped parts so that I could put different size rings on it. On either side are just penny washers to protect the plastic and for a nice solid surface to compress either side for a secure hold to stop the ring spinning. Good luck with your new lathe .did you go with a mini wood turning lathe or a mini machine lathe? You could make your own rings from scratch like i do now. I dont buy the blanks anymore.
Hi Vic. I use CA glue as its so mush hard wearing and les prone to scratching than emoxy. I only use 03 Adhesives,if you want to try it they have a rediculus offer on for christmas.
Cute but how do you know if you have more pigment than ash when they fall off when you are applying and sanding 😮it would be a ring with more pigment and a dash of ash
Rich, love your work! hoping you can help. I use a drill/ dremel for filing, with sandpapers and polishes- but I’m struggling to find a bit that will hold the ring! I’m thinking maybe a stepped rubber cone? not entirely sure what to search for as so far I haven’t had any luck! Really hoping you can point me in the right direction of what I’m after is called. Thanks!
Hi thanks check out freedomringz19 on TikTok. He uses a Dremel with a flex shaft and he makes tones of them mainly live. He's a decent chap and will answer any questions in the live chat. He's also on TH-cam under the same name. freedomringz19 hope this helps you.
My uncle has just passed away and he had become a big part of my life, we both had a love for rings and i wold like to do this as a memory for me and my aunt. How would I go about doing it?
Lovely work. I too am a memorial jeweller. Ive not made a chanel ring yet as I don't own a lathe. My question is regarding the 03 glue. Have you tested it for discolouration/yellowing over time like some resins do. Just curious. Only just found you so I will watch the rest of your videos. Thankyou for sharing your knowledge.
Hi welcome to my little channel I just hope I can keep you entertained. I've been ising 03 for a while now and can honestly say that I haven't seen any discolouration or yellowing. Most of the time I'm laying it on top of mica migment or opel so you probably wouldn't see a change anyway. The pens that I made last year where coated with a clear 03 finish and are just as if they where made yesterday. Hope this helps. If you order some 03 please take advantage of my discount in the description.
I'm not sure if I heard where the inlay ring blanks came from... And I don't believe I saw it in the description either... Does anyone know of a cheap source for bulk inlay rings in the US?
these where from Amazon but i make my own now from stainless bar. If you have access to a machine lathe or know of someone that will turn them for you they will be much better.
@@TheBeardx16 would love to see a video on that and also where you get your stainless steel stock from... I think I will have to do some lathe shopping tonight 👍

These are beautiful! I just lost my sweet pup to cancer last week and was perusing ideas for his ashes. It's a shame you're in the UK, my husband would love one of these. He was 10 yrs old and our first pet we got together, I already had my 15yo lady. The link to your tiktok didn't work for me to follow you on there. :(

My husband's dad just died 2 days ago. What do you charge to make these rings. Would love to get one done for my husband.
What is the song in the background? Also what do you use for the black backing under the pigment and ashes?
I use thick coloured paper for the base layer and the song is 'Old pen' by Cody Francis.
