I remember last year when I first laid eyes on carpet mountain. I thought it an interesting choice of building material.
I’m now wondering why it isn’t used more often.

LOL Right! Its the most awesome course ever imo. Everyone has the idea that spray foam is the way to go, I think that is one of the worst. Ive also got an idea that uses a fleece like blanket or old towels that are soaked in concrete to drape and shape so you still get a rock like surface. Could even put a polymer into that mix along with some sort of aggregate to add some sort of extra traction. With the carpet mountain, we used to use GIJOES and LEGO on it in the basement back in the late 80s early 90s growing up. Totally forgot about it until I got the Scx24s. I want to open a shop that uses this as its main attraction. U wont break ur rigs when rolling, wont scratch em either. And is wicked cheap to set up and change. Im going to experiment with the concrete soaked blankets and try to make something next level but pretty similar to the carpet mountain. :)
EDIT: the polymer would to be for water proofing so I could have a water feature on it, like a stream or pond.

@@DurpVonFronz totally love the concrete idea. Where PPE if working with concrete. That shit will give you wicked chemical burns.
The carpet only version for a rc shop is pure genius.

@@Papa_Shorty Thanks Nuclear Nadal!!! Yea, always wear the PPE with that stuff.. I think a crawling store with that would be perfect. Would be really kewl to somehow add a Mini Z drift track along the side somewhere.

@@DurpVonFronz Iv seen videos of people making aquariums using the concrete covered cloth so it should hold water. Cant wait to see how you make out. Hopefully you are more successful then when i tested it out. Again pretty sure i just had the wrong type of concrete.

@@wreckemrcThe aquarium cement may likely have a polymer modifier added to it to make it water proof and/or give it a bit of crack resistance. 👍
