A game like this in the 2000s would’ve been really hard, mostly cuz the emulator gives you more room for bigger rom hacks. Coding and making games on the N64 was difficult, even if most games released were bangers.
I'm not the biggest Bionicle guy, but this is an insane level of quality. Just the fact that this exists now is wild, but I still hope this, or another project, can get the traction it deserves
At first I was mildly upset it wasn't the atmospheric ambiance of MNOG.. But now that you pointed that out about the music, I like it! It really is like a game trailer from a demo disc!
I have never been a fan of Bionicle, but I think its sweet that the retro community now has a Bionicle game for all the oldhead and newbie Bionicle fans that looks very good.
Holy fuck how did this fly under my radar. Never been a Mario or platformer person but I'd definitely make an exception for a Bionicle converted romhack
This looks amazing! That Mata Nui point and click game is one of the most nostalgic things in existence for me, and to see that whole world in SM64 is really cool
I can’t believe this almost flew under the radar for me, it’s something that will finally scratch that itch for a fully playable 3d Bionicle game. I need to go play this immediately!
I’ve been playing this most days since launch and have around 40 stones right now, and just want you to know I really love this game. It’s absolutely fantastic, all the attention to detail makes me laugh out loud in joy as a bionicle (especially 2001) fan, and the brilliant level design has me hooked for hours at a time as an sm64 fan. I’m probably one of the only people that is in that perfect overlap of being absolutely enamored with both of these things, but as someone in that group, I want you to know that you did a stupendous job. Thank you so much for this.
Holy crap this is amazing. I know the Bionicle fanbase is really big so this must be a dream come true for a lot of people. This look really damn good.
My god. I recognize those numbers on the HUD from the Gameboy Advance game. This is amazing! Thank you for putting in the effort to make something so incredible, and slaking my decade-old thirst for literally ANY kind of Bionicle game.
I can already feel my younger self happy and crying for finally being able to explore Mata NUi...now if only someone could do a Rom Hack of SM64 in which we could explore Metro Nui or even Voya Nui, that would be sick...
The level of polish and love you put in this puts the licensed bionicle games outside of mnog to shame. I'm glad this pushed me to get into emulating, this game is VERY addicting.
If it wasn’t stated in the video, I’d never guess it was a rom hack. Even disregarding my love of Bionicle, this has to be one of the most impressive mods I have ever seen.
I know literally NOTHING about Bionicle but I'm going to play this because holy shit, this is basically a new free N64 game in 2023. LOVE this level of work, congratulations to you!!
Just got my 50th toa stone, definitely going to finish it but I have to leave a comment before I forget. This is some of the most fun I've had in forever, thank you so much! I don't know all the ins and outs of sm64, so some stuff has been very challenging, but that's added a lot to the experience! The visuals are also so spot on, great atmosphere and variety. Really feel drawn in by the level design too, I feel like exploring and when I do I'm rewarded for it. Excellent hack
This is just… breathtaking. So perfect, like we’re actually traveling to an alternate dimension where Lego Bionicle had all these excellent games made in 2001. Now I want to see a Zelda rom hack turned into a bionicle game.
This is a masterpiece thank you for making the 2 of my favorite things sm64 and bionicle looking forward to play this! I would love one based off web of shadows! Lol
*I've never played any Bionicle games (even though I've heard a lot they're good games), but WOW, I really wanna play this mod! It's insanely well done!*
This looks absolutely incredible!! But a little concerned the levels might be too massive and end up overwhelming like Banjo-Tooie. Love how he takes off his mask instead of mario taking off his hat lol! Really beautiful stuff.
I've never played Mario 64 but being a big lego fan from year 2000s I'm inspired to play this game out, I played a lot of Mata Nui Online Game 2 and I recognized many environemnts that are in that game too.
Only just rediscovered I was a Bionicle fan like 2 months ago, only for it to be perfect timing lol. The areas from the MNOG look like they translated pretty well into 3d, looking forward to trying this out!
I've only played for a little bit but damn, this is a fantastic total conversion mod! I'm definitely looking forward to really sinking my teeth into it when I have the time.
This looks amazing! I didn't play it as a kid, but when I tried it a few months ago, this is what my mind imagined when playing Quest for the Toa. Getting to see this part of the story in a more real sense is really cool!
Even if you're not a fan, you can tell Bionicle was something special. After all these years, people still put huge amounts of effort to bring that world to life.
Wow, really feels like a legit old Lego game. Feel like I've already played this as a little kid
You didn't it's called super mario 64
You didn't it's called Lego Racers
Even though it's using SM64 it definitely reminds me of stuff like Lego Racers on the N54.
Because you did
You did. It's called Super Mario 64
Anyone else love the fact that the Bionicle love is still going so strong to this day?
I still have mine sitting on a shelf in my room. Collecting dust but I'll never part with them.
It makes no sense to me that they haven't brought it back. They're sitting on top of a gold mine. The fans are loyal for life!
We will never let Bionicle die!
I still all have my Bionicle parts in a huge plastic container. Kid me always took them apart and made new ones.
It won't go away, it was so unique and special
finally. boncle for the nintendo 64
How lego never made a game like this during the 2000's is mindboggling!
I've dreamed of this for my whole childhood 20 years ago!
Their racing game still was pretty good tho
it's not mind boggling really since the games would be supportive to sell the toys, a game of this scale and quality was really hard to do in 2001
A game like this in the 2000s would’ve been really hard, mostly cuz the emulator gives you more room for bigger rom hacks. Coding and making games on the N64 was difficult, even if most games released were bangers.
I'm not the biggest Bionicle guy, but this is an insane level of quality. Just the fact that this exists now is wild, but I still hope this, or another project, can get the traction it deserves
Glad you like it!
It really looks like footage you'd find on a promo tape in the 90s and get all hyped for as a kid. Even the music is true "90s cool ". I love it 😄
At first I was mildly upset it wasn't the atmospheric ambiance of MNOG.. But now that you pointed that out about the music, I like it! It really is like a game trailer from a demo disc!
This is incredible. Must've taken an absolute age to make.
Really glad you like it! It definitely did take an unreasonable amount of time to make, but it seems like people are happy with it!
I have never been a fan of Bionicle, but I think its sweet that the retro community now has a Bionicle game for all the oldhead and newbie Bionicle fans that looks very good.
The character's movements scream Mario 64, but the environments feel reminiscent of the Banjo games.
Either way, this is beyond impressive.
You are tight. This in the Banjo engine would be epic
Hard to believe this is not an official game, but a total conversion!

I'm so glad you like it! Thanks for making my day!
You living the life, I barely know Bionicles but love SM64 so i will try it as well
Holy crap this is amazing. I know the Bionicle fanbase is really big so this must be a dream come true for a lot of people. This look really damn good.
oh my lord. the locations from the bionicle adventure game. just gorgeous.
this hack has some of the best aesthetics i've seen
So many memories were unlucked of that Bionicle adventure game the used to have online.
So glad Bionicle is still remembered.
Wow, this looks incredible! Clearly tons of hard work and love went into this, and it shows!
OMG you can ride the ussal crab!! This is amazing, thank you for making it!
Totally forgot about Bionicle. Time to rewatch the 'Mask of Light'.
The game every fan wanted during the golden age of Bionicle. Well done!
My boi Takua looking amazin on N64
This is pretty much a new standalone game by itself. Amazing to see it unfold
Even though it’s a SM64 ROM hack.
NO WAY NO WAY YOU COMBINED LIKE MY TWO FAVORITE THINGS
My god. I recognize those numbers on the HUD from the Gameboy Advance game. This is amazing! Thank you for putting in the effort to make something so incredible, and slaking my decade-old thirst for literally ANY kind of Bionicle game.
Yeah! That game had a lot of influence on this hack.
I can already feel my younger self happy and crying for finally being able to explore Mata NUi...now if only someone could do a Rom Hack of SM64 in which we could explore Metro Nui or even Voya Nui, that would be sick...
I've definitely toyed with the idea of coming back and doing a short Metru-Nui or Voya-Nui game. I'm pretty sick of SM64 though. We'll see.
The level of polish and love you put in this puts the licensed bionicle games outside of mnog to shame. I'm glad this pushed me to get into emulating, this game is VERY addicting.
Glad you're enjoying it!
No way this isn't just unreleased footage from a cancelled Bionicle game from the 90s...
Insanely accurate aesthetic!
“In a time before time, in a world we’ve only imagined, a shadow will be cast… a hero will be chosen… and a great adventure will come to light.”
Man there's a lot of love that went into this it's beautiful
I'm surprised no one has thought to do this before now. Looks good! I'll have to check this out
I know nothing about Bionicles but this seems incredible. Much kudos to the developers
Thank you SO much for creating this, I am having such a fun time playing it!
Very glad you're enjoying it! :D
If it wasn’t stated in the video, I’d never guess it was a rom hack. Even disregarding my love of Bionicle, this has to be one of the most impressive mods I have ever seen.
Really? The gameplay is identical to Mario 64.
Mario 64 meets Bionicle. This is actually pretty cool
WAIT THIS ACTUALLY LOOKS PRETTY GOOD *WHAT THE FU-*
Sometimes you even forget it's a romhack
I know literally NOTHING about Bionicle but I'm going to play this because holy shit, this is basically a new free N64 game in 2023. LOVE this level of work, congratulations to you!!
Just got my 50th toa stone, definitely going to finish it but I have to leave a comment before I forget. This is some of the most fun I've had in forever, thank you so much! Really feel drawn in by the level design too, I feel like exploring and when I do I'm rewarded for it. Excellent hack
Really glad you like it! Hopefully the tutorials in the game have been somewhat helpful!
Mario 64 expansion you didn’t know you needed
Absolutely fantastic work
Glad you like it!
This is absolutely amazing, man! Excellent work!
This is how I used to imagine Bionicle looking when I was a kid in the early 2000s
It's a game from 1996 tho
I've seen many SM64 romhacks but this quite the fascinating creation! I'm already loving how this looks & excited to give it a shot!
This is just… breathtaking. So perfect, like we’re actually traveling to an alternate dimension where Lego Bionicle had all these excellent games made in 2001. Now I want to see a Zelda rom hack turned into a bionicle game.
Luigi: "M-m-m-mario?
Jaller: "TAKUUUUUUUUUAAAAA"
This is insanity, I love it
Cool to see an SM64 romhack that uses an entirely different kind of IP from Mario for inspiration
wow this look like a huge work, congrats
Man this is adorable, really impressive work!
Truly feels like an old N64 game. Super cool!
cause its mario 64 with different textures and levels
The trailer alone looks incredible, and I know Oboeshoesgames is going to have a field day with this one. ❤
This feels like a gift to me specifically
EDIT: I'm loving this! There are tough segments, but it's addicting to replay them. I'm having a blast!
Really glad you like it!
Dude, this looks amazing! I loved Bionicle growing up, and Takua was always one of my favorite characters. Definitely gonna give this a try!
Wow the attention to detail is fucking insane!! Nice job!
Epic O_O
Imagine Ocarina of Time remake where you play as Takua, and then as Takanuwa, getting blessings of Six Toa to defeat Makuta...
If there's Takua 64, there should be Jaller's mansion where you can press a button to yell TAKUUUUUUAAAAAA
This is incredible. Thank you for this.
bro that looks awesome. impresed as hell
Absolutely incredible.
The only thing that'd make this better is if Takua had his voice lines from Mask of Light.
This is interesting. The gameplay mechanics from Super Mario 64 work really well with this!
i never realised the fanbase for bionicle was so huge till like last year this is nuts
Legit looks incredible, the first rom hack im going to play
I can not wait to play, looks so fun. Great effort man, people like me really appreciate this kind of stuff
At least it’s not another Mario one. Nice creativity mate
Feels like one of those old gems from the 90's that weren't too popular but developed a cult following over the years
This is game with Bionicle? So beautiful!
I need to see Takua build up speed for 12 hours and jump into a parallel universe
This is a masterpiece thank you for making the 2 of my favorite things sm64 and bionicle looking forward to play this! I would love one based off web of shadows! Lol
Man I hope he says his Iconic line
I am Takua and I have to get the Bionicle Mask of Light The Movie
*I've never played any Bionicle games (even though I've heard a lot they're good games), but WOW, I really wanna play this mod! It's insanely well done!*
THIS IS ALL THEY EVER NEEDED TO MAKE WITH THIS FRANCHISE!
This is literally everything I've ever wanted out of an old school 3D Bionicle game, can't wait to try it out it looks absolutely bonkers my dude 🙏
If you just gave him new jumping and walking Animation you can probably convince someone that this was a real Bionicle game
Even as someone who knows very little about Bionicles (though my little brother absolutely loved them back in the day!), this looks fantastic!
This looks absolutely incredible!! But a little concerned the levels might be too massive and end up overwhelming like Banjo-Tooie. Love how he takes off his mask instead of mario taking off his hat lol! Really beautiful stuff.
It's true. The levels are very large. You kind of have to be able to enjoy getting lost. 😅
Loving the Mario jumps. XD
Man that looks so good tho
like damn
This will be gaming in the year 2001...
Beauty in it's purest form
Nice N64 game. If it had come out in the day it would have been an instant classic
This looks absolutely amazing, first romhack in years that got me hyped again!
Hope you like it!
I've never played Mario 64 but being a big lego fan from year 2000s I'm inspired to play this game out, I played a lot of Mata Nui Online Game 2 and I recognized many environemnts that are in that game too.
This is my most anticipated game of 2023!
Well it's out now!
@@Superstupidy As soon as I get home from work, this is how I’m spending my evening 😁
Bionical meets Rayman 2... actually a very good idea!
Only just rediscovered I was a Bionicle fan like 2 months ago, only for it to be perfect timing lol. The areas from the MNOG look like they translated pretty well into 3d, looking forward to trying this out!
Hope you enjoy it!
I haven't played with bionicles since I was about 12. I definitely see the love you put into this.
I know what to do this evening, this looks amazing! ❤
I can't wait for Takua 64 DS
I've only played for a little bit but damn, this is a fantastic total conversion mod! I'm definitely looking forward to really sinking my teeth into it when I have the time.
Glad you're enjoying it!
This looks amazing! I didn't play it as a kid, but when I tried it a few months ago, this is what my mind imagined when playing Quest for the Toa. Getting to see this part of the story in a more real sense is really cool!
genuinely impressive
this has gotta be one of the coolest things i've ever seen, wow!
This is incredibly impressive
Finally, LEGO Racers is no longer the only LEGO game on N64.
Looks real cool, I’ll try it.
Chronicler! Sightseeing were ya?
Even if you're not a fan, you can tell Bionicle was something special. After all these years, people still put huge amounts of effort to bring that world to life.
