The way I see it, there's still at least one more Island that deserves subjugation. If Britain isn't a pacific Island, then explain why they come bother me every time I'm doing a run in the pacific.
It's because Britain is unsatisfied with its native cuisine. They pour *immense* time and effort into securing new condiments, which apparently aren't to be found on their own island...
the event you click that turns them into vassals from tributaries also gives you a huge loyalty bonus for all vassals for 20 years. but after 20 years they'll go back to hating you unless you integrate

while many official estimates say that the number of islands in the malay archipelago are around 25,000, other state around 24 thousand, the archipelago also covers 2.87 million square kilometers of land and sea and many sources state it to be the largest archipelago in the world.

best number I could find is 25,000+ but it's very hard to count them all split between several countries

playing in SEA is so fun and youll learn alot about trade, naval and colonization.

For the trivia question: You should specify the time. In 2021 I'd take a gues of around 24k islands but with raising ocean levels, there will be less in a few years.... or the area will connect to asia again during the next glacial period and become mainland :D
It depends on what you would consider as an Island I know it's over 24-25k islands but im not even sure if theres a sure answer to it

Island in those archipelago eh.. Indonesia alone had somewhere between 17-18000 islands, not including the islands that Malaysia had, and Singapore.. And if the Philippines includes too, then it will be somewhere from 26-30000+ islands..

I'd guess 2,194 islands are in the Malay Archipelago. Didn't do my research like maybe some others did, just something to do as the video rolls on.
It's probably over 25000, but it is very difficult to count exactly. What is the definition of an island? And some authorities in the area are not clear about this. For this example I'm going to use the country of Indonesia: in 1996, Indonesia just said "we're not going to count all this, but we claim Indonesia consists out of 17508 islands". But other sources claim anywhere between 13000 and 18000. And I suppose this number varies just as well with all the other countries in the region, and the region as a whole.

Malay archipelago might seem like 20 thousand islands, but in reality it is just one big island. It is all connected under all this water.
The entire world is connected under, its a bowl. It doesn’t matter if it’s all connected underwater since it’s islands are defined by whats on the surface
as japan i pretty much only ever do island only conquest. Mostly because i find the idea of japan onthe mainland disgusting.
though usually I'm fine with vassalizing Korea and Malacca for dat sweet sweet trade (and staging ground for inevitable wars with Ming), but I'll "make it up" to them by heavily developing their lands as recompense.
Usually I only consider my job finished if I've go the entirety of the Pacific and Indian oceans, which yes means i have a significant African colony in the form of Madagascar XD

I mean, if there's over 20k islands, there's no real way to make sure how many islands there are exactly, and due to climate change the islands will either grow more numerous due to splitting up of islands, and shrink due to them being consumed by the ocean.

I feel like this isn’t really a challange, since there are a shit ton of islands in that region, you could form Malaya and you can expand on land by vassals. If you played in the state of Sjaelland as a custom nation, for example, then sure, i would call that a challange. (yes, i made this comment mid-video)

Around the 8 minute mark you said "I don't actually know if I can vassalize Brunei". Click on one of their provinces and right of the Manpower/Supply limit/Sailors there's crossed sword with a star on it and below it some percentage number, that's the warscore cost for that particular province and if you hover over it it will show you the cost for all their provinces combined. If that number is below 100 you can vassalize the country.
