@@NJPurling there is no, but there is a rull saying that if u crash into someone REALLY hard u get banned and arrested by the police that is on site (to prevent big accident)

What I am not keen on (as a classic fan) is seeing restorable 70s and 80s iron being destroyed at these meets. If it's survived this long, why smash it now? As someone else said, the dick waving contest of who can smash the rarest car and piss off the most enthusiasts really does turn me off the whole scene. A few seem to take real delight in it. No-one cares about a MK2 or 3 Mondeo getting pulverised -good riddance! - but even things like Volvo 240s are getting rare now due in no small part to banger racing. I mean, I appreciate racers who strip cars and sell the parts to restorers before destroying the shell, but parts aren't much use if there are no cars left. And not all the classics are rotted out either - again as someone else said, rusty old nails don't hold together long enough to win races. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to have a go, but in something that's still pretty common and doesn't matter. Though the fact that at this particular track at least, they seem to race cars that could have driven there - full interiors, glass, no cages, door reinforcements or other race preparation - is kinda cool and scary at the same time!
It doesn't look like they are going too fast. So of course a helmet and maybe a neck brace and I would do it in my 05 dodge grand caravan. (Here in the U S those things are EVERYWHERE.)

There are "proper" races on these sorts of tracks too, with similar cars (there's a bewildering array of classes with different performance mods allowed or disallowed). I guess you could call those the British equivalent of NASCAR, only entry to the stands and to the racing itself is considerably cheaper, and nobody outside of their immediate family have any idea who the drivers are.

Also I wanted to know these cars are removed, windows and seats I think, essentially leaving only the skeleton of the car, and above all the engines of the cars are modified for this occasion?
