Hey ! Once again, thank you for taking the time to dive in the story like that ! Actually, I planned to add a lot more info on the areas and the characters, then I kinda cut everything to release the DLC earlier and to keep the same kind of narration as in the base game. My initial plans were to develop the story of the Kingsgaol further, making it an ancient city that was there before the kingdom as you know it was even founded. It would have been built on the remains of an even older civilisation (whose only remaining building is the black cathedral where you fight the Forgotten King), and Magnus would have claimed it for his own purpose. It would probably have been too similar to the Dark Souls story so I chose to tone it down, but I think it left me (and you) with some mysterious locations that do not seem to exactly fit in the rest of the kingdom. I also wanted to create a more personal story and flesh out the characters there, so I am glad you enjoyed them !
Always happy to play this map, especially the lore ! That is really interesting if that was the original concept because when I first played the DLC (the demo), I thought the Kingsgaol was actually like some ancient land for pretenders or something, didn’t think it was built by Magnus. The characters were a lot more fleshed out than the base game, I agree, especially Terminator and The Foreigner. Anyways, see you when I do a lot more on this map, I ain’t done making videos till it’s bone dry 😅
