As a viewer from the UK I just love the variety of engine companies and the loads carried. The length of these trains is some else Thanks for posting such a great video .

Wow! Excellent catching all the trains, especially the UP1988, the UP military train, and so much more, @Virtual Railfan, I like them all, thank you very much.
Interesting editing to include the CSX 1982 (Seaboard System heritage unit) leading the JAX-Chicago intermodal train through Folkston, Decatur and Princeton.
Golden Swoosh leads--hooray! It was nice to see the Nickel Plate Road and Katy locos (though contrary to the old blues song, whoever took the Katy didn't leave me a mule to ride) and that extraordinary military transport train in Tucson. And I don't know where you found the music you used in the Galesburg switch footage, but it was absolutely perfect--and hilarious! All topped off with wire-sitting pigeons, steel rainbows, that gorgeous Burlington bridge, and another absolutely exquisite ending--this one was just packed. Bravo and thank you, guys--you happied up my day!
Just keep 'em coming; this is yet another superb collection. Loved seeing that passenger loco with the slogan "See Track Think Train" and it had such a great livery to go with it! One for the Darwin Candidates!!!! Another great ending; sunrise over Fort Madison and with some trains to go with it! And a clip from La Plata!!! 😄Thank you so much for this whole series!
What was that little bit of theatre in Galesburg? Enjoyable, yet puzzling. And as an accordionist for many years, it was neat to hear a melody from the old Stomach Steinway. (I graduated to pipe organs. Back problems went away...).
About 2 or 3 weeks ago two of them ran on CSX up to Worcester MA for about a week. Once Upon a time TTX had hundreds of them and now it's down to just these few
I've seen quite a few of these Grab Bags and a lot of trains carrying military equipment, especially tanks. I have to wonder why the military needs so much equipment, especially tanks. Just something to ponder. That pigeon was trying to impress the ladies.
I wonder if you film the heated liquid tank trains. They apparently only run at night at maximum speed. Greg in Southern Ontario. 😊. I have only seen one by accident. I was at the right place at the right time Thanks 😊.
Somewhere along the CSX line is a NEW Gettysburg and Northern diesel locomotive and the road number is 3836 and the color is a nice shiny blue and the logo is an eagle on the side and it is has the 5 veterans logos under the cab window
That is the standard Patriot Rail paint scheme. They own several short lines and all of their locomotives wear the blue paint and eagle logo. It's pretty sharp looking.
I don't sit on Ashland much so I haven't heard but I guess they're just never ever going to open the street in front of the restaurants ever, ever again?
Thumb up for the NS heritage units. Distinctive and instantly recognizible. Thumb down for the half-hearted CSX heritage locos. Can't tell what they are until they are completely by. I say bring back the Chessie logo on the nose like an unofficial CSX heritage unit did recently.
Well, for me at least, they're more interesting than another wall of double stack containers! There's variety in the equipment being moved, and interest in trying to work out what each item does.
Probably loco failure by Amtrak unit where it could still provide HEP ("hotel" electric power for consist) but was unable to provide over the road motive power requirements.
I don’t want to start any trouble but it seems like MofW vehicles on flat cars get more priority over military equipment movement s. The speed at which the military train was turned up to was almost a blur but the MofW trains aren’t as fast I’m retired military since 95 and the up to date equipment is something of interest Other than that good job
Thanks, we try to balance everything, occasionally it will seem slanted. If we run to much Military, some commenters start wondering the wrong things. Darn if you do, darn if you don't.
Great to see all the work trains. It is a sure sign that spring is coming and the end of winter. Next clear sign of spring are ballast trains😀
As a viewer from the UK I just love the variety of engine companies and the loads carried. The length of these trains is some else

Excellent as usual! Enjoyed Wildlife Sunrise! Superb finale!

Thanks VRF. I especially liked the CSX Train, at Waycross in the Rain - with SD70AC 4718 OTP, followed by a nice Lash-up of sister EMDs.
Great video VRF! Love seeing what is always featured on these Grab Bags!
Great Parting Shot. I❤ VRF.😊

Aat 22:50, the Pigeon isn't saying, "I don't feel good;" actually, he's saying the exact opposite! Spring will be here before you know it!
Yep--new pigeons coming soon to a neighborhood near you!
@16:36 great catch of that seaboard system engine...love it
*Nice Catches*
Terrific video! Lots of great catches.
Lot of Work Train this great grab bags as always
Thanks for mow trains
What was that little bit of theatre in Galesburg? Enjoyable, yet puzzling. And as an accordionist for many years, it was neat to hear a melody from the old Stomach Steinway. (I graduated to pipe organs. Back problems went away...).
The switch wasn't responding to the dispatch center, so they (the conductors) had to move the points at the control box.
LOL, what is the trophy I see you holding?
@joepeach997 That's my Emmy I was awarded for a Sports broadcast of which I was Engineer in charge.
1:59 The Florida East Coast is the only railroad that still uses those Long Runners.
About 2 or 3 weeks ago two of them ran on CSX up to Worcester MA for about a week. Once Upon a time TTX had hundreds of them and now it's down to just these few
@@paulbergen9114 Yeah I remember watching them on high priority trains with 28' pup trailers and 45' trailers from UPS.
I haven’t seen Long runners in years
There is NOTHING like accordion music.
I've seen quite a few of these Grab Bags and a lot of trains carrying military equipment, especially tanks. I have to wonder why the military needs so much equipment, especially tanks. Just something to ponder. That pigeon was trying to impress the ladies.
11:16 Was there a hopper of grass seed leak in Decatur?
Groovy outro...

You never know what you will see on the rail lines.
@ 21:14, is that space invaders ?
Lehigh valley heritage unit while ns derailed to loco one is kinda submerge in the lehigh river
Somewhere along the CSX line is a NEW Gettysburg and Northern diesel locomotive and the road number is 3836 and the color is a nice shiny blue and the logo is an eagle on the side and it is has the 5 veterans logos under the cab window

@@J3scribe Yes it is
Why can't you move the video title down so that we can see the camera locations?
NS on Amtrak, NKP ES44AC serving as distributed power, CP run-through power in Roanoke, nice video, lash ups and trains!🛤🚂
Give credit on the crew of the switch
hello Virtual Railfan & it's is Randy and i like yours video is cool & Thanks Virtual Railfan Friends Randy
7:14 I imagine it's obvious to y'all, but why is it bad to run over the points? Even slowly, as I assume this Amtrak would've?
They can use some Flange lubricators in that curve at georgia there
At Waycross georgia They need some flange oilers in that curve
Strange... For the first time in years, a passenger stepped out of a train at Skykomish and it is not in the Grabbag
When the predominant color of equipment on the military trains are camo dark green instead of camo desert brown you know we are headed for trouble.
My thought as well.
Olive green has been the standard US Army color for well over a century. Desert brown was just temporary.
I don't sit on Ashland much so I haven't heard but I guess they're just never ever going to open the street in front of the restaurants ever, ever again?
Excellent Video! V R F

When it's safety first:
Galesburg Amtrak was brilliant!
Space invaders at 21:10 priceless!
Why is this channel obsessed with MofW equipment????
I've thought the same thing but the bosses must like them. Same with the fake horn at the beginning and end.
Well, for me at least, they're more interesting than another wall of double stack containers! There's variety in the equipment being moved, and interest in trying to work out what each item does.
Because critters are cool.
Another norfolk Southern train derailed in pennsylvania
At 3:36 why is a ns pulling a amtrak
Probably loco failure by Amtrak unit where it could still provide HEP ("hotel" electric power for consist) but was unable to provide over the road motive power requirements.

Amtrak is a boring train to watch
That's why you should ride them, scenery that no car or plane will ever see.
Golden Swoosh is over rated.
There's only one and if you look at the past Grab Bags, months can go by without seeing it.
First comment
Who cares
WW3 coming
It's Sunday evening and time for Virtual Railfan Grab Bag with a lot more
train action around the country thanks.🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃🇺🇲🇨🇦💨
