Chigg, that little piece of copper you found that was round, and looked like a tiny hat. Is something I call a push nut. Like to hold an axle on a Childs toy, or a wheel on a generator say would be much bigger. Generally it is a one time use item. Once it falls off or is pryed off it can not be reused. But yeah, it is a type of fastener. Usually used to hold any size wheel on whatever axle.
My daughter raised crickets for the reptiles of a children’s science museum. She put a mass of Praying Mantis eggs in an empty incubator and when they hatched it was overwhelming. It still seems that there are an above average numbers of them in the garden and around the house. A great find, indeed.
I'm going to check my property for mantis egg-sacks, and put them in sheltered areas around my house. Hopefully, that will increase the likelihood of the survival of more of them. 🤞
Hey Chig, FYI those praying mantis egg sacks contain 150 to 180 babies and, on average, only 5 will survive to adulthood. So most are victims of predation before they become the beneficial predators we want in our back yards.
@@MapleHillMunitions Don't keep one in your bedroom unless you want to come home from school and find them all lined up on top of your curtains, swaying in the "breeze" waiting for dinner to fly past. They all got rounded up and taken outside. Preying mantises are cool.
awesome hunt Chigg, love the animals and all the history and stuff on top of the detecting ya find, just love this channel and you chigg, if u see those baby Mantis please share em when the time comes please
I saw the sharps bullet before you did and that may be the first time that has ever happened. I had to watch it again to be sure, and yup, I saw you put your hand on it and push it back down into the dirt.
Hi beau was just wondering are you ever gonna do any more TV in Britain again been watching river hunters re run on TV and I can't get enough of the show think you were brilliant in it and Gary bankhead I go metal detecting and most of us detectorists like the programmes that you made beau 👍 your Abit of a legend about these parts I hope your doing well I ve just subscribed to your channel and enjoy your programmes so much take care fella 👍😉
My friend used to get the mantis egg mass and put them in a big gallon glass jug. When they hatched there would be 100’s of them in the jug. He turned them all loose of course but it was amazing how many hatched out.
I’m guessing the owners of that place are gonna watch this video and hopefully they will read the comments, this one is for them and anyone else interested. A great way to clean up that mess on the incline is to by yourself a leaf blower and before the rains come blow the leaves into piles and all will be revealed on the surface. If you can do it once a year the bulk of it will be done in five. Do it on a windy day. Wear ear protection. You won’t have to go to the gym that day.
I used to climb a lot of trees as a kid, we had lots of mourning doves, you are corrct saying they make some quick flimsy nests , but I have also seen them do very sophisticated twig and mud ones that are pretty impressive. I was in a tree one day and I had climbed out and was sitting on a branch and I went to move and almost put my hand on the bird, it freaked both of us out, she still didn't move, so I gave her a wide berth and got down, I made a terrible mistake when I first got my bb gun and I killed several birds and frogs and I felt so horrible about it, I left them alone after that. I never hunted or if I fished ,I put them back in the water and I felt bad when they swallowed the hook, but I gave them a chance

I had a skunk did a yellow jacket nest out of the ground to get to the larvae
nice pawpaw there
I think the last item you found is from an oil lamp. The top part would hold the glass chimney in the decorative bracket end.
Awesome hunt and finds!
Thank you Beau!
Thanks for sharing!
it is an old wash tub, where they had a ringer on the side.

The piece at 15:39 strikes me as maybe holding a candle in a multiple candle stick like a menorah or maybe a chandelier?
The zombie kid!
14:15 that is 100% ford model t radiator cap
Wasn't that a garter snap ?
That's a smashed hubcap from an old car. It screwed on the hub to cover the axle nut.
15:39 My guess is a gas lamp sconce
Model T radiator cap
7:31 we get to see what the bullets see when the chigg finds them
HAY-ADAMS HOTEL IS ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE STREET TO LAFAYETTE SQUARE OF THE WHITE HOUSE

Hey Chigg
Alcohol lantern
That mantis egg sack is waaay bigger than the ones i see around here.
Did the soldiers make their own bullets?
It would be very uncommon. And probably never with the minie balls, they came in a paper pouch that contained the proper powder charge
Is that mystery item not a 40 gallon drum plug. Used to close the big hole in the lid.
