Watching this makes me sad. I live and work in canton. Im a certified CNG inspector and repair technician. Unfortunately, all i work on is cummins. I havent seen a single cng Hercules motor before. The old olant has been turned into luxury hipster apartments.
I HAVE had the absolute pleasure of driving that arhens fox fire engine. Its an absolute beautiful piece of machinery and that Hercules inline 6 is as smooth as butter.

I never knew that company stayed in business til' the 90's. They were great engines, had a very unique sound. Jacqui sure is cute (:

They have now converted the old factory in to a modern apartment building. The still left a bunch of the old factory pieces all around and have pictures of the old factory. It is amazing.

Its incredibly sad. I live and work in canton. Hercules is gone. Us steel is gone. Republic is down to one or two shifts. Same with timken. Diebold and hoover vacuums are gine as well.

Truly, by the time this was made, 1990, this company was barely hanging on.

The series ii 3.7 would have every bit the equal to the 3.9 Consolidated diesel.

My father and I work with a Hercules YXC from 1936. Never had a bottom end rebuild or rings redone. Installed in the last running Hayes Anderson bus.

I live 20 miles from the old Hercules engine plant. Sad it's an empty building now. Used to be lots of industry in Canton Ohio. Not much left now.

A friend of mines husband used to work there. He's past away now but she still has a brand new Hercules 4cyl turbo diesel engine in her barn. Never been started.

Just sickening to think that they didn’t see what was coming sad to say as a bright proud future was seen for the company’s future now gone thanks to our great government of hippy yuppie socialistic liberalism ideas that destroyed our industrial powerhouse

@@bubblelvr1 I had no idea hippies had so much influence over an engine manufacturing company. Amazing! BTW, Yuppies are 100% Capitalists. MBAs did more to offshore manufacturing than any Gov agency or worker.
