It was a great session Richard, I love that you only have one rod, net, matt and a small bag of bait when you go fly fishing for carp. And let's not forget that a bag of bait that cost £1.88 will most probably last for 4 session if not more.
Hi there, I think location is key for any type of fishing but the bigger fish (10lb+) that I've caught have been caught in all different locations on the lakes that I'm fishing on at the moment. They seem to be patrolling the lake with all the other carp. When I see them on the top I try to target individual fish that looks bigger (bigger shadows) than the others. It's been working very well for me, hope this helps. Tight lines.
Albert Pretorius thanks mate - have you ever experimented with the scandinavian style of carp fly fishing? (I saw a Kanalgratis Fly TV video where they target carp with Jig Flies which were a little like worms, you should check it out if you havent seen it :-) I found it interesting) tight lines Albert
Pretty darn good for a short session. There's many carp anglers who take a barrow-load of kit and catch four in 24 hours.
