I love my Mode keycaps, but feel like I need to include that with my set the durability has been lower than expected. They've begun to shine at a rate that's similar to GMK in my experience, after about 2 months of light/moderate use. This is different from various PBT sets I primarily use, all of which show no signs of texture loss. Since their durability and resistance to shine is heavily emphasized in their marketing, I think that's important to share my experience. This could be batch variance however, so time will tell as more people use them if this is across the board. They are a very good value either way and I'm ultimately happy with my set!
They use a high ABS mix, which means it shines about as fast as ABS. Reasons to do that includes higher yield, easier pour into the fine lettering on the legends, and much more vibrant colors. On the other hand, GMK is 100% ABS and people love those so...

Mode's emphasis on transparency and communication is a breath of fresh air in the midst of all the vendor shadiness we've seen over the past year, and proof that keyboard companies can run a business that is both user-centric and successful I'll always remember how Mode shared the tracking info for the Envoy cargo ships. Big flex on all the other vendors where you order and pray you don't get ripped off
OK this is probably one of the most informative and fun videos to learn about the hobby. Thanks For doing this I would definitely like to see maybe a smaller video on switches and thoughts into your design languages over the years on your cases
Yeah when I found out my Mode keycaps had their row number marked inside, I immediately thought it should be an industry standard. Although the industry would first have to agree on one numbering direction lol.

Having a background in design amongst other things (typography, publishing) this just confirms my impression of your keycaps. I have the Tomorrow and Anthracite keycaps so far and love them. I’d take them over any competitor.

I thought that double shot keycaps will deliver "touch sense" letters. But it was not. Though my idea is better isn't it? Double shot transparent letterings that are engraved and are obvious to touch, the letters can shrine through and it floats subtly to its respective keycaps. Much of how the braille system is but it will be within the limits of the physical keycaps roof. 😊

Nice looking keycaps - !! - I just hope the space bars are dead straight and work well with Staebies V1 - which have a very tight tolerance and don't work with even slightly warped space bars
This was a great visually interesting and informative video. It's truly a challenge to go up against the likes of GMK (community standard), who's been at the game for decades. This video certainly makes me curious to try out the mode keycaps, hopefully one day there will be a colorwave that speaks to me more than the current 4. Thanks for the video Mode team! Man, I LOVE this kinda video. Kinda wanna cop a Tomorrow Keycap set now haha I’m curious how these sound compared to GMK. I have a few boards that sound great and poppy with GMK and thuddy/flat with PBT caps.

Better moulds with higher quality legends. Higher vibrancy colors due to using ABS instead of PBT. That's about it. But it's very nice.

In my experience, our keycaps sound closer to an ABS/GMK set than PBT keycaps.
