My sister gave me her apple watch and set it up but hated it and never used it but she sold her iPhone x to get the Samsung galaxy note 9 because of its enormous space and ability to display presentations for her classes but ive been reading once it's connected to an iPhone that's it :/ . Is that true?

I have to try this, last resort I guess. iPhone 17.4 update FORCES you to update the Series 4 to OS 10 and by doing so this absolutely trashed my SS Series 4 battery (currently shows 92% health)...Battery was eh..ok, I'd get through a work day, but now after this big 10 update, it's literally draining this 20-30%+ in a matter of 3-4 minutes!! The watch is absolutely useless now! I KNEW I should not have updated to OS10! smh.
