2:24 Billy Curruthers (Murray Goulburn) strikes again.
It's great to see a small country towns school to be expanding, My primary school did reach twenty students at one stage.
19:06 Note; All public phones within Australia are now free of charge, isn't that great.
If the butter factory still retains the churns, vats and printers etc it should not be touched but open to the public, if not its an empty vessel. Thats a new fire station or shed, not a renovated one.

thanks for the update - I've noted that towns are now getting free wifi near those phone or at the town halls !

Great video, I run the plant nursery at the Sunday Market located at the rear of the big shop you went into and met Hamish the store owner

Hamish was a great spokesperson for the market - True marketing / promoting / salesman !

This is another town that could do with a general store or a coin-operation machine hub for items that hikers, cyclists and visitors that just stop for a break might need - drinks, snacks, health bars etc accessible 24/7 !

1:57, that name 'sunny south butter' triggered a memory. that was my mother's preferred brand when i was really young. i was stooged by tv advertising and asked mum why she didnt buy western star butter. she said sunny south tasted better. she bought western star after she could no longer get her favourite brand. i dont think any sensible person would develop that old butter factory. the walls are decrepit but repairable. it looks like most of the roof is asbestos so it will be a bottomless money pit for any developer.

I think that's why they want to make it a reception / cafe / restaurant type centre - Leaving it will see it crumple to the ground and thus a huge grant is needed which should include a much larger car park to help the Sunday market visitors ... It's a dispute for locals to negotiate.

I havent driven out in ages to do live drawings paintings of small towns.
Your videos are sparking some flames, but ...after so many towns, they all start looking the same to me 😂
Cheers for the exploring videos. If Google still has that UrbanMapping program, where you treck around with a backpack of their camera, it's probably a good option for you too 😊
Thank you again for the exploration

Great - Everyone needs a hobby or making an effort to explore as much as possible ... I do stumble on people with cameras and more with electric and regular bikes exploring bike tracks !

@urbanaerialexplorer1885 ah true. The bike paths would be good to explore on. I just need a tire replacement setup and preferably a 2nd rider that also paints/sketches. Ha

I hope the locals win the battle against these money hungry developers, they leave the bush alone

I'll be a fence sitter on this issue but that urban sprawl is growing to areas that especially have a railway station !

A 'developer' (alias destroyer) bought the butter factory and is planning to convert into a money spinner - upmarket wedding functions, accommodation, eating etc. Basically a toutist rip-off outfit. Will completely destroy its current character. 😢

I've come across many towns whereby a developer be it a new vineyard, hotel, theme park, adventure park, mountain biking park, campground, residential estate etc that have benefitted the town and district with employment opportunities and use of locally produced produce, increased government / shire services etc etc. I guess this is something all small towns and districts need to sort out but a condition of a compromise with this developer could be a dedicated parking area for the Sunday market they could share ! Personally every town needs an injection of change (especially in an aging population base) to increase those that visit and live in as they are likely to have their local school closed, general store, post office or even petrol station close, while increasing a population does the opposite ! Good luck with whatever or however you want to move forward but the town does have a lot of potential and was a pleasure to visit and explore.

The thing is, locals don't want to be developed. They like peace and quiet. With hordes of tourists the valley of peace will no longer be peaceful.
