I just took my board apart tonight and switched back to the FR4 plate after starting out with the aluminum one. I also went with the sleeve gaskets and did a full tape mod to the back of the PC board. I really like shine-through keycaps, so I went with a budget set off of Amazon. I'm pretty sure if I installed the Nuphy keycaps the board would sound even better than it does now. Overall, I am very happy with my first build!
I forgot to mention, I also went with the black board and raspberry switches. They feel very similar to the Cowberry switches I use on my Nuphy Air75v2, which is my travel board.
Just happened to click and be early, I already know it’s gonna be perfect for my nap

Ahhhh those switches and key caps sound so creamy! I prefer this sound to the thocky sound of other keyboards, but you can’t go wrong with either. Thanks for the video, glad it was as relaxing for you as it was for us 😊
@16:51 That is by design. The Gem80 supports stepped and center post capslock keys. Depending on your keycap you have to change the position of the switch.

The extra set of holes for caps lock is for "stepped capslock" style key caps where the stem is off centered

The 2 caps holes are for the 2 types of Caps keycaps. One stepped and one standard, each needs a different switch placement.
ooohhhhhhhh i gotta check if they explained that in the manuals , from what i flipped thru it didn’t explain that :0 or I didn’t get any extra key caps

The way you type is so crazyyyyy I've never seen that. Its like you are only using the index and middle fingers on each hand. You'll improve your speed and comfort if you use all fingers! Thanks for the relaxing review!

I really hope you are not forcing yourself to record videos and it seems strange to me that there is no one talking about the loss of your grandfather. I know we all grieve in different ways, and if making videos helps you, I'll support you. I'm just worried about you, I love your content and I don't want to see you bad.
You don't have to be sad because he left, you have to be happy because he's in a better place and would like to be remembered with joy, an emotion that I suppose represented him a lot, along with all those moments he gave you.

check my last video!! so many wonderful people commented about my amazing grandpa and sent condolences ~ and if you read that description i explained that asmr is healing & filming calm videos helps take my mind off things. that being said , im gonna stick to slower calm videos like the last two for a bit of time because they’re soothing to make :)
like i said in the last video description too, i never film in a bad mood. these videos were filmed almost a week apart and during this last week i spent time with family and will continue to be around my loved ones as we grieve, and when im in the mood to create , ill create :)
he knew about my channel too so in a way it makes me happy too when i create videos :)

i used to type like that myself but it took me a long while to get used to integrating all of my fingers 😔 i can only imagine how it must feel for her loll
Whenever my trusty TKL Roccat Vulcan decides to finally crap out on me, I'll be sure to keep Nuphy in mind and give them a shot.. Always down to try a new keyboard when that time comes!

I have a KBD75 V2 that I custom built. I got a brass plate for it which was the main reason I went for it over other 75%s and I went for Kailh Box Jades for the switches. It is loud as shit and I love it so much. I also took the time to holey mod the durock screw in stabs I bought for it and it was so worth it. All in all my keyboard ran me $400 USD and I regret nothing. I even went and flashed custom QMK firmware to make my keyboard light up in lesbian and trans pride colors. It was worth every penny.

For 150$ you get a lot with it, i have a relic 80 and i didnt get much more than that (except for a fancy case😂) for 650$, its good to see how good value keyboard have become nowadays

Any keyboard connoisseurs can help me with a question: I have an old Corsair kb with cherry mx reds, couple of switches broken but not all. If I desolder the functioning switches (I have equipment at home already), can I salvage them to use in a keyboard kit like this?
im almost positive any switches can go into this keyboard kit , so as long as they’re all in good shape you can put cherry switches into this kit! almost certain ~
