Beautiful. I would love to see this in blues/purples/silver and with glass "gems" around the edge. I think the crushed glass/beads would hide the rough edge and you wouldn't need to sand it.

Absolutely beautiful Julie! Can't wait for you to do this again. I'm in Canada and have been watching your videos for awhile now. Now I think I am ready to give resin pouring a try. Your so down to earth and funny! Love how you explain everything and you aren't afraid to laugh at yourself. You have given me the confidence to give it go!! Thank you for sharing ❤😀

Put a nail in the end of the silicone gun, and it'll sale it, and it's long enough that it'll go deep enough where it won't harden.

Gorgeous!! I love those colors! The exterior is incredible! The gold interior is so beautiful and smooth. Using the thicker plastic worked wonderfully to prevent the resin from wrinkling. I made one awhile ago that I wasn’t happy with for a number of reasons. I just did it freeform without any silicone to keep it contained, Sharon Lindley does this with great success.. I.. didn’t.😅 One of the issues I had was the resin drooped when it was hanging.. kind of like candle wax in some areas. Anyway, because it was pretty thin already it stretched it out until I had holes on the bottom. I’ve made a new mold (with a silicone border this time😆) but, I haven’t poured it yet. So, your video is perfectly timed for me and very helpful!

The resin may still have been too soft when you molded it, so it stretched :(

An inspired piece Julie. It turned out terrific; especially for a first attempt. The colours blended beautifully and the effect is luminous. In regard to flattening your plastic sheeting, pop in the hot sun on your board for about half an hour. It’ll come in flat as a pancake and so smooth. A very successful project all round. Congratulations. 👏🏻🌺🌴

Whenever I have issues with my edges on resin pieces. I trim them down to the best of my abilities, then find creative ways to cover. Sometimes I use the most beautiful bling wrap or glitter or rhinestones or the crushed glass as edge toppers. Plus it just gives extra shine and drama. I love shiny things lol 😆

Hot water will soften it BUT I suggest you take a small piece to test. Too hot may ruin it, too cool and it won't relax. Also suggest using a thermometer to record the ideal temperature to avoid so much guessing moving forward.
EDIT: Can you sand the gold edge then paint it gold...ha! As I'm writing you're saying the same😄
SANDING TIP: Revlon cardboard nail files are a brilliant tool. I keep some for my nails, some for crafts and some in my toolbox.

OMG. That's beautiful. I want to do one of these so badly, but I don't really have the space for it. Hopefully I will figure that out soon. (Do you know if it is possible to get the "hump" to go away by pulling on each side of the plastic and taping it down so it is taut, or does it come back anyway? That's the one thing that scares me about even a smaller pour like this. I'd really appreciate the knowledge/advice.) Thanks for sharing!! Happy Creating!!!

Julie thank you, I’ve first started watching you because of your adorable personality and I started thinking I could try to do some of the stuff. I’ve had quite a few flops, I continued and have made a few really nice things. I ordered some things from Laura’ Art Studio, I spoke with her and she was so sweet!! I haven’t been able to do anything yet, I’ve been under the weather. I’m wondering how I can buy your molds in the USA? I tried and they put a hold on my card, is there a US site or can I buy them on Amazon?? Thank you and again I really enjoyed watching you🌺✨

We put a large nail in the hole. It works well. You can put tape around the head of the nail and spout for a perfect seal. The nail should be large enough to fill the hole and large spout.

That is really cool. I actually love the shape of it. I think it were taller and thinner, it might not look as great. That was a great idea, just getting a thick table leg and using that for a post to drape over. I would worry about the bowl embossing on the inside of the piece though, depending on how set the resin is and how thin the plastic being used. I'm glad yours wasn't sensitive enough to pick up the writing on the bottom!
The gold interior really sets off the extremely dark exterior of the piece. Very nice!
