Our elementary school in Abilene Texas sent a donation to the restore Battleship Texas fund in the 1960s, and my family made a special drive to see her. She was fabulous. I will make another trip now that I'm in my 70s to see this majestic battleship again.
She's so beautiful! She's going to look amazing when she's fully restored! Thanks for the video! 🇺🇲
Thank you. I get goosebumps every time I watch your Battleship Texas update videos.
Glad to see the ol girl back in water
Amen to that
Thanks for the Update mate, from South Australia. She is looking good.
Thank you for providing this wonderful drone footage
Awesome as usual, I wonder how long they’ve had that dust guard up
Thank goodness for you and your videos, cause the foundation is not doing anything but playing golf, guess Travis is on vacation? Only thing that is keeping my interest is you and the Old Man! Thank you.
Nice to see the updates.... especially since the last we heard from the battleship's page was 2 months ago.
Absolutely beautiful paint job.
Thank you for the update and for the exquisite music 🎶 to enjoy while viewing this grand old battleship.
I remember now, that I once toured the USS Victory. (I think that was its name?). Anyway, ships are cool and battleships are the coolest.
If you get a chance, watch the Thunder Struck music to the movie Battleship - really cool music video.
Will do
Hms victory is the 18th century equivalent to a dreadnought. Victory was a ship of the line of battle at Trafalgar.
I have enjoyed the videos of the restoration of the Texas. She was the first USN ship I ever set foot on (as a kid almost 10 years old in 1953). That may have set my course following graduation when I went into the Navy and flight training. It doesn't seem possible that it has been 71 years, but that visit over Easter weekend made an impression on me. Glad to see her looking so much better. When it is all finished, I may have to schedule a trip back to Texas.
its always good to see a ship like her being taken care of.
Woof! Lookit all that scaffolding! They're actually bringin' her back!
I'm kinda floored. Years ago I had heard how bad she was deteriorated. Severe corrosion down below, unable to keep her floating...
I had to stop paying attention. Because it's too sad, to see that kind of news of any old ship. But *especially* a capital ship, a preeminent symbol of National pride in her brief heyday. So long ago! One of the old heavyweights that they "tried to save", but then neglected, decaying... She seemed much too far gone.
But now... Unbelievable! It looks like she's really being rescued!
Hooray!
Texas Looking good😊❤❤😊
❤❤
My favourite battleship, she's going to be absolutely gorgeous when they finished restoring her 😍
I hope to get there later this year and somehow see her. Will be coming from Australia….
The first shot of this video was epic, if not spine-tingling!!
Would you know why their are raised tarps at the front of the ship? Are they protection from wind or anything? Just curious.
Thank you for another amazing video and the personal time you take to bring these to us who cannot make it down there.
Looks great. Still good deal of work being done. She’ll be stunning.
When she joined the Grand Fleet at the end of WWI, she was the baddest thing on the waters. Nothing in the Grand Fleet or the High Seas Fleet was her equal.
Hull looks great but am amazed at how much work needs to be done on the decks and superstructure.
The last of the Dreadnoughts.
What a grand old ship
Love watching these!
She looks beautiful! It’s good to see them actually going restoring and fixing her!
Thank you for all the work you put in to share with us
The period blue paint is awesome! Are they going teak on the deck?
Men and women great job.❤
Stunning!
👍🇺🇸
The old yellow rose of Texas never looked so good .
Bet she can take any ship in that port. :-D
I wonder what it would cost to get her back into original operational condition? It’s possible if you throw enough $$ at it.
Amazing footage!! Thanks for posting it!!
Out of dry dock now? Last time I was down there it was dry docked across from the cruiser port.
I can’t wait til it’s open to visit.
Wow.
Scrap all museum ships and replace them with virtual reality museums. The military could use all that high-quality steel to build new tanks, howitzers and ships.
You're a real bright ray of sunshine aren't you? Is that your thing? Going around and trolling channels?
Great video!!
