- So, why didn't Kai use Tai Lung's jombie during that final battle? We all noticed Tai Lung's amulet on Kai's belt, yet he opted not to utilize it. Here's the reason. When Po confronts Kai and fails to banish him to the spirit world, they engage in combat. However, before the fight commences, Kai waits until he summons back all of his other warriors to his belt first. Why? Well, it's probably because Kai gains power when they're on his belt and loses that power when they're off. And if Tai Lung's Chi is as potent as we think, Kai needs to keep it on his belt to remain in the mortal world. So, yeah, Kai's not taking any chances with that kind of firepower.

Tai Lung and Oogway were too powerful for Kai and if Kai summoned them, they would've broken free right away.

We already saw how he returns. It's shown in the Kung Fu Panda 4 trailer. We will be seeing how Lord Shen and Kai returns next week too, since they also were confirmed to be returning, along with Tai Lung.

There's literally no proof for than. Zero. Kai had no problem controling multiple strong masters, what makes people think that the strongest ones can break free if there's no reason to think that's the case? He also never uses master Oogway, rhino, elephant, hippo, crab, frog and some other guy(s). I think he just wants to keep them because they are:
1. Either very powerful and give Kai easy advantage over anyone else.
2. Or very weak (like master frog, however you can never be sure because size doesn't really matter in this universe) but then I think he would still use them as jombies because that's always more than nothing.

Nobody is saying otherwise, Kai literally scales to Oogway from before he even turned into a spirit, a younger Oogway than the one we see in the story, peak Oogway if you dare. People just want Tai Lung to go all out in a relative fight at which his defeat feels earned rather than plot induced

Actually, with Kai’s defeat it was the chi of every panda, tigress and ping that saved Po. He wasn’t using his chi power but everyone else’s that’s why he defeated Kai. First time he had help in killing a villain.

I thought it was cause tai lung already lost to po, so kai didn't see any reason to use him... Besides, if he needs superpowerful chi to stay in the mortal realm, he already has oogway's chi. So I don't really see a reason why he would NEED to keep tai lung out of the fight, other than just expecting him to lose, even as a jombie.

Why would he need to use Tai Lung's chi when he has Oogway's?
In the first place in order to defeat oogway he needs the chi of all kung fu masters including tai lung. As for why he didnt use it during the finale its probably because he expected more from Po whose choosen as the dragon warrior and the tribe that has mastery over chi
its likely that summoning Jombies requires use of his chi, and as such...he needs back-up chi so he doesn't drain all of his own chi

Basically tai lung was a chi fuel for Kai, meaning Kai was using tai lungs chi to amplify his own chi so that he could use his other warriors he collected from the spirit realm. Because tai lungs chi was so powerful that if Kai had used tai lung as one of his pawns
A. His chi would evaporate and he couldn't survive for long in the mortal world
And B. Tai lung is the strongest chi master other than po and Master oogway.
I like the idea that summoning the Jombies uses up Kai's own Chi...and as such, the reason he doesn't use all Jombies, is because he needs the higher chi level from the other masters to use as fuel for his jombies

I think I know why Tai lung wasn't used. In the final battle. In KFP3. It's because Po would have just skadooshed him. Back to the spirit realm. And then tai lungs Chi would have been returned to normal. And I think it's also because Kai looks up too tai lung As a Villain And wanted his powers for himself. 😊

Oogway’s Qi is the reason Kai was able to return to the mortal plane but Tai Lung’s Qi is what made it possible for him to remain in the mortal plane. Basically Tai Lung’s Qi allows for the user to exist both physically and spiritually without having to recharge in the Spirit World.

My headcanon is that Kai gets certain attributes from the Masters Chi, like how Oogways chi allowed him to come back to the mortal realm. So i would say that in that case Tai Lungs mastery of Kung Fu is too valuable to him to use him as a Jombie

I think that’s what Oogway’s chi does, to a greater extent. It’s possible that he didn’t use it for the sake of the writers not wanting to anger the fans by bringing back a weak imitation of Tai Lung.

Actually, none of this is true. It's just a false hypothesis. Kai used almost all the Kung Fu masters he had, along with the five and Master Shifu, and they didn't get out of Kai's control. And the non-appearance of Tai Long is that the nintgens didn't want to show him so that people wouldn't get bored of him and the character would remain interesting.

I just realised, kai's jade blades are actually the spear he used back when he was fighting with oogway, and as we can see in the story oogway wrote about Kai, we can see that oogway breaks the spear in half before sending Kai to the spirit realm
