    I've had a Bluesky, Bigsky, and now an Empress Reverb. I personally learned that I don't care for complex pedals with tons of options and parameters. I just want something that sounds good. Period. Maybe that's just me. I'm not a gigging musician, and have my pedals on a desk and record mostly. This pedal appeals to me because it sounds incredible and is extremely easy to use. Having the pedal accept line levels is big for me as well since I'll use it as outboard gear and save some DSP for other plugins. Simple is better people, it'll allow you to focus more on becoming a better musician instead of wasting time finding a sound you like. (Just my opinion)

      On the same boat, with the exception of just having 1 preset. 3 wouldn’t get in the way of simplicity.

    If something starts with UA we all know it’s pretty damn expensive. But this thing also sounds damn beautiful.

    This thing sounds ace. Best sounding verbs in a small box platform out there (IMO.) Everything you need, nothing you don't. And, the spring settings sound even better than I had hoped.

    Well done. Finally a video that simply demonstrates a pedal clearly and most important, succinctly. I don't need to know how well you can shred on your out of tune guitar to want to buy a pedal. What I need is clear, concise simple but also well varied samples. This was an excellent video. Thanks!

    One thing about the decay knob in the Spring type: it's divided into thirds and there is no variation within each third. So, you can twist all the way to max, and it's still the same amount of decay as twisting just past 2/3 of the way. You can actually hear the "hand off" from one decay value to the next if you twist while playing something. You'll hear the reverb trails "reset" upon crossing the threshold. I found this from watching the official demo video from UAFX. There are many quirks to this pedal that aren't explicit, and you need to do some digging to find them.
    I'm not pointing out the decay knob in an effort to "catch" UAFX, or something. I think the reasoning is very valid for why it's three distinct values instead of a continuous ramping value. As explained in the company demos, the reverbs represented here are modeled from actual vintage reverb tanks. The engineers took data from the actual spring length and then went on to physically compress or stretch the springs in order to get the lower and higher knob values. Just to give us options! Pretty cool in my opinion. UAFX clearly went above and beyond for this entire pedal line.

      @@hanovergreen4091 as requested... quick follow up although I could write an essay about my reasons and thoughts on spending £355 GDP on 9 very similar reverb Algos.. in short like to think I am a player who tweaks not a tweaker who plays. Find a sound that is good and play...as much as possible. Close to breakup traditional tones or overdriven classic amps !I move around a lot due to circumstance... I made a rescission last year to sell most of my hefty gear... all big amps, pedals .. computers, monitors. I broke my whole rig down to what will fit in a small rucksack and a guitar case. My travel board is now 6 pedals crushed together on the smallest board I can fit them on. My Amps are models and for the moment I use the hx stomp, out board overdrive and fuzz... eventide H9 for delays and pitch effects. The problem was always the classic reverbs, authentic spring and plate... even the H9:although the reverbs are lush and deep... you still find yourself wanting a bit more...
      I tacked the AUFX on the end of the chain last night, dual Princeton and delux model from the hx. Played for hours. This little set up as small as it is ... is the closest I can get to playing a fender delux. Out of a rucksack! The pedal sounds next level authentic or as close as a model will for the foreseeable future I think. It has functionality,I don’t quite understand yet...Bluetooth.. downloadable new algo... however the App doesn’t seem to be live yet at least on last nights research. So a lot of that is currently obsolete. I believe you can register and download although I am not clear how you switch between new algorithms as the top face switching functionality seems to be all used up with the factory reverbs. Someone with more time than me will have to make a video showing how the pedal evolves...it annoys me a little that I have to own a £2000 laptop top to Be able to manage the pedal when it has Bluetooth onboard
      Eventide worked this out 10 years ago with the H9 update from an iPad or phone. Hmmmm!
      As for the reverbs they take the HX stomp models to the next level... watch josh smith video... you can tell he thinks they are the nuts.. and based on a few hours playing and not much tweaking because there really isn’t a massive amount of tweaking to be done... NO BUYERS REGRET. :) worth every penny and the cherry on my little rig. I would definitely consider investing in the others however then my board would get too big.... I follow ....5 watt world philosophy... the most amount of functionality from the least amount of gear... I think this pedal, eventide H9 and a hx stomp gets you closest to an authentic.. ish and versatile tone set... and if you chose you can run it all off a cioks DC 4 and a power bank. To me that is nuts a good impression of just about every style of amp... including reverb in a shoe box...on battery... I don’t regret selling my valve amps, I am not saying modelling has caught up with valves but pedals like this are having a really good go.
      Hope that helps a little 👍👍

      @@stevefearon9337 Steve. Very cool and totally understand why. It's like flying by stick/rudder. You just want the simplest cleanest solution. I also sub to 5WW. Thought of going minimal with a Melo Audio MidiCommander and an iPad running Bias FX but have not yet gelled with Bias to do it. I just bought a Zoom G11 because it gives me banks/preset staging for songs/set lists BUT each preset pedals can be tweaked by real knobs for each pedal and a master bank of knobs for amp. And less than half price of a Helix-emper-rush solution. If you ever post your setup on TH-cam I hope I stumble across it. And thank you for the story!! I enjoy hearing others philosophy/journey because I always learn something from each person. Best Regards and Best Wishes for 2021!

    Sounds really really good, too bad it's a bit too "polite" for deep washy ambient, cranked decay knob doesn't give that infinite sound

    • @endonyxoneaudio8644
      @endonyxoneaudio8644 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      i guess that wasn't exactly what they were shooting for with this particular pedal. It looks like they wanted a premium pedal with the main classic reverb types in it. but who knows they might give an update and add the extra free slot with a ambient modulating infinite type reverb down te line.
