Yes there is. You take a company's product, make a one to one replica, and give it a different name.
It's like if I copied all of the game files for a GTA game, put it on a new CD and changed the cover art and title.
It's a different story if the pedal isn't available anymore and the company is not around or doesn't make it.
But for stuff like the Ibanez TS9, Big muff, Proco rat, and others. It's not right to flat out copy it and many other pedals, toss them into one pedal and sell it

I have several Behringer pedals and other gear, like mixers and my UMC1820 interface. Most of the gear by Behringer is pretty good. Sure, my Mackie mixer has a great reputation but hissed like a snake when the treble was turned up. In comparison, Behringer's mixers are noiseless. That's why I upgraded to Behringer. Yes, folks, I consider this an upgrade. I am not a brand-snob! I've never had any of their equipment fail. In terms of copying circuits: everyone copies everyone. If people didn't copy and then improve, there'd be no progress - or is anyone saying that whoever invented the car is the only one allowed to make a 4-wheeled transport device?

@@SteamvilleQuintet OK it have USB and FP..i have far more simpler only working with USB but that is what i need UMC404HD under 100$. Behringer IMHO got that bad reputation due to plastic enclosures for pedals also when people buy cheep and it is broken they are often angry but they overpay things they tend to find excuses ..for example there are tons of videos for let say guitars up to 500$ and they do bla bla how fret ends are sharp etc but when they do video for some Suhr or PRS that cost 3-4000$ and have sharp fret ends then they say ''it is normal thing and guitar have to be taken to pro for set up'' ☺..Fact is that all parts are made in Asia for pedals, all machines like CNC again Asian, pickups parts everything comes from there so it is a bit crazy to think they are not capable to make 1st class finished product..I don't have the problem to say that open no matter that i'm European, but some of my friends who try to make pedals, amps etc don't like that since the only thing they are left with to justify the high prices are lies more less. To make 1st class pedal in metal box if you make let say 100 of them- parts will cost you for each less then 5$, for pickups is the same situation only builder have less job to do. Then why some products cost 200$ when fer price should be under 50$? Simple human greed, take a look 99,99% of those small builders have no school usually they are musicians who couldn't do anything with musical career but they know very well that guitarists often tend to buy overpriced things due to marketing hype. If you buy some KIT pedal and solder it alone it will be equal with quality as any boutique out there 100%. cheers.

Other companies wanted to build an X pedal too. So they go buy a palette of chips. Well, the chips have instructions to them. So company B follows the instructions, as did Behringer, and builds their pedal. Well, they wind up very similar. He points out its not just Behringer or company b. Its just how the entire industry works.

Add one for every fall off stage without missing the root note as the neck breaks add 100 for knee slide & 1000 for riding guitar as a skateboard, pickups down only!!! OK That is X. I immediately liked Josh, the whole JHS show, his humor and playing. When i started to play and buy gear again i decided that i wouldn't care much about the brand. Sure it's nice to own good brands too but in the end it's all about the sound and the player. Now i see that Josh is the one who made me realize that. Or worse, they think something sounds crappy (before you even turn it on) because they don't see their favorite label. I really appreciate the fact that you made a video of other companies pedals without even mentioning your own! Very admirable!!! One thing I was curious about is I've never run across a vibrato pedal. They were off my radar. It sounded just like tremolo to me, at least without hearing them side by side. Is there a substantial difference?
As far as behriger products I own and use, I've picked up 3 things just on a whim, and because they were used and being sold, so darn cheap, I couldn't resist, and i have been extremely impressed with what I got, especially for the money. I got a rack mount unit for 20 bucks that I don't really get a chance to use much just because of space issues. I don't remember the model, but it's blue and had I think 80 presets that all sounded pretty good. I just don't have a pedal controller for it, or even know if there is one, so unfortunately it doesn't get much use. The monitor speaker, and 4 channel amp are a completely different story! The amp presents itself as a "400w" model, and I typically pay no attention to that, but for doing a solo gig, or just jamming with a couple buddies without blowing out my windows, pissing of the neighbors, or at my age, ruining what's left of my hearing, it has been the single most useful item I've ever purchased for what I like to do. It's not pro gear, but you can plug in 4 different instruments(or 3 and a mic) and not only adjust the tones and volumes separately, but it also has an onboard effects processor! Nothing super awesome, but this is all packed into a relatively small combo amp that does pack a real punch(it is quite heavy for its size but you can't have it all! Just damn close!), and I forgot to mention it has a 6 or 7 band graphic EQ as well. It's not as useful for multi person use, it last in the effects chain(pretty sure) and unlike the onboard effects that have a blend knob for each channel(pretty awesome), it effects the output of the whole shootin match, so it's more for getting the amp in its "happy place" with all of those different inputs. it is one of the main reasons I've been using it just playing around though. Don't know why, and I truly regret it at this point, but I never had an eq pedal and really didn't understand them till just recently. For the 60 bucks I paid for this thing used, it's the handiest thing I've ever bought for jammin, and I wish I'd had this thing YEARS ago when me and my music buds couldn't find a place to play music. So behringer has my permanent seal of approval! The monitor speaker is crazy loud and clear as a bell, but they were sold in pairs, and I only got one of them. Well...that's probably so darn long nobody's gonna read it anyways! Sorry for writin a novelette about my Goofy 4 channel amp! I'd say I am in love with it after seein' what I just wrote!!!😆

I've watched this video several times even though after the first time I bought 12 behringer pedals. They cost me about £250, the price of one 'quality' pedal. I don't feel guilty, I'm learning lots and some ill never stop using. Thank you. Oh a bit late I know but Guy Clark is a legend amongst song writters. Particular songs to listen to, The Guitar, The Cape and a truly world class set of lyrics, Old Friends

No conspiracy at work here... I assume the vid got replaced because there was a mute segment starting at 9:58... Super vid, always wondered about Behringer. In fact I really dig this channel, great content, well filmed and edited, informative, funny, you're really good on camera, man. This and TPS, awesome shows.

The funniest part is that I hit that Audio drop out @ 9:58... assumed it was my "still on life support" 2009 MacBook... & refreshed the page, only to be slapped in the face with a 404 XP

MASSIVE KUDOS to JHS for being cool enough, and humble enough, to recommend pedals from companies other than their own. Bravo!

Ive had a vintage delay for many years and I really enjoy it. I actually use it mostly with my harmonica mic for soloing.
