I don’t think I’ve actually played a dice drafting game yet (I’m still pretty new to the gaming scene.) I’ve played dice-assigning games (a la, Circadians: First Light and Twice as Clever.) I am backing “Monsters on Board” on Kickstarter, though, which looks like it will be a good one!
@@aarond.8586 Ahh if you are looking for some suggestions we'd recommend: Troyes Castles of Burgundy ( a true classic!) Sagrada Unfortunately haven't heard of that Kickstarter, we'll have to look into it :)
I haven’t played any dice drafting games yet but this looks very nice. Going on my Wishlist for sure. If you like dice games and Shem’s work, checkout his next game coming from Kickstarter called Shelfie Stacker. I can’t wait for my copy to arrive!
I'm totally with you on this. COVID has stopped my heavier game playing and I've been buying almost exclusively light games to play with family. It's actually been really great.
Hahaha you guys are gold!! 😂😂😂 @17:22 had me laughing so hard with the “Wrong”. If you guys ever do guest appearances from TH-cam followers or Patreons I’m in! 🤙🙌
GREAT playthrough! This has become one of my favorite games, definitely a go to for my family. Very fun to see someone else play it! the winner here got a great score for a two player game.
After watching your video I’ve now purchased the game. Arrived yesterday and played our first 3 games of it today (2 player) and my husband and I really enjoyed it. Thanks for helping me spend my money! 🙂
Bought this game last week because of your review. Got it to the table last night and we all loved it! I lost, but such a blast. A surprising amount of AP for such a “simple” game.
Hello guys, great playthrough! A small note though... I think that you can only deliver your jars, take point tokens, and draw new jars, AFTER you finish storing and passing the dice. Just to keep in mind for your next game! :) Thanks again for your videos, we enjoy very much watching them!
Having watched several play thrus and tutorials I noticed this is where a lot missed the rules order of play. from rules: When you are passed dice, you can place one of them into one of your jars as if you had collected it. Any remaining dice are passed to the next player in the turn order, who can also place one die. Continue until all dice that can be placed in a jar have been placed. Any dice that cannot be placed are returned to the box lid. Completing Jars AFTER you store and pass noctiluca dice, you deliver your full jars (jars with no empty spaces), take point tokens, and draw new jars. But this was a great play thru and I was surprised and grateful no AP (which I may struggle with and my game buddy will definitely struggle with…I foresee using a timer to nip that in the bud) this play thru convinced me to buy.
Around the 19:50 mark, which sequence of events occurs first? Monique placing one of the dice that was passed to her or Naveen choosing a new jar? I feel Naveen could have waited to see which die Monique would have taken and then chose a jar based on the die that was remaining so Monique wouldn’t get them both. Is the order of how this plays out in the instruction manual?
I came across your channel looking for new games for my collection. I've watched a few now and subscribed. Love your content. Keep it up!! Fan from Sydney.
I love that, though likely a trick of the lighting as I am sure her shirt is actually gray with black stripes, Monique's shirt sorta looks like the color of her secret objective and Naveen's shirt is the color of his. This is a great Sagrada like dice game. Love it. And a great play through. Will have to pick this up at some point.
Haha, right when I saw I drew purple I thought "how fitting" lol - Naveen We love Sagrada too. Not sure I'd want to play it with more than 4 players (with the expansion).
LOL. at 17:52 Naveen ninjas one of Monique meeples instead of cleaning the board for the last meeple. then Monique grabs the last meeple off the board. XD
This turns out to be surprisingly good and accessible at the same time :) I see it great as an entry game or something you would play when you don’t have a lot of time. It also has enough depth to keep more experienced gamers entertained, which is something I always enjoy. I completely agree on dice colour, the blue and purple dice look a little bit too similar, but it is a minor gripe. I also agree on player count, this seems best with two, as you have a lot more options.
This caught my eye when SUSD covered it as well. I enjoy Potion Explosion; this seems to have the same core engagement of picking jars/ potions and components that will fill them fastest. Regarding visibility, they needed different hues and possibly digits on the dice so you aren't becoming pip blind.
I love the look of this. You mention that a two player would be quick due to each player having 12 turns. There are just 12 pawns, so regardless of player count, there are 24 turns per game. There will obviously be more AP as the board changes more between each individual's turn, but do you think this would increase the playtime significantly?
It's very different I'd say. The only true similarities is that you're technically drafting dice, and the secret objective scoring condition. Otherwise, we think this one is much more simple to play and less strategically crunchy than Sagrada.
Looked everywhere but I don't understand the subtraction rule in solo mode.. One for each dive you pass but also on for every token they have or just the single ones they win. Quite frankly I'm going to house rule no subtraction in solo. It's way OP. Starting to hate it as is.
I just got this game because of the solo option. I have ADHD, so I found that the solo option is a great way to train my brain, I only scored my first round & just focused on strategizing. I do plan to work through the scoring as I continue to work through the game. It’s very pretty & fun to play. I like the colors and find it very soothing. It’s a good way to exercise your brain.

really appreciate this series - almost all of my game nights are fillers and gateways with kids and family

Nice video! Haven't heard of this game. And it look like a great one!
It came out last year, this was one we wanted to highlight as it fits a nice little window for gamers. :)
We don't have any dice drafting game but we are going to buy Pioneer Days soon :)
Oooooh! I haven't played it but I absolutely love the box art for some reason! Let us know how it goes for you guys 👍
How similar do you guys feel this game is to Sagrada? If any?

nice review! looks super cute :)
Adorable little theme :)
did anyone beat the solo mode? either i'm not doing something right, or it's extremely hard to beat.
I’ve only managed to beat it once or twice. It is really challenging!
@@sharonlee9285 damn it. i played it many times, but haven't managed yet
@@disneymaniac001 I was pretty stoked when it happened cause it’s really hard. Not sure yet if the win was more luck or good management 🤪

This isn’t a bad game, just not great for color blind people.
Yes, we’ve actually played it with a colorblind person and can confirm!
