I think a huge part of why those aren't as popular with these car guys as other cars like the Civic, Mustang, and Miata is because of the auto:manual ratio. I've been looking around for a manual Crown Vic and there's very few around, at least where I live.
I have a retired patrol car 2010...they are slow and the transmissions were pretty weak. The other factor is when you are driving around town trying to get someplace the person in front of you does 35 in a 45 because they get paranoid. It kinda sucks

I had a mint 1994 325iS 5 speed when I was 21. I put it through 4 pieces of guard rail after losing control going through a turn. I still miss that car every single day, was amazing. Eventually got an E46 and just wasn't the same.
I'm 6'4. My first project car was a '64 Valiant. With a 340 V8 and a 4-speed, that car weighed only 2870 lbs, which was about 90 lbs less than my buddy's 327 Vega. Terrible stock brakes, but with some parts juggling I was able to swap to 11.8" front disc brakes from a '70 Imperial. Had to get custom-made headers done up, though, there isn't much room between the fenderwells.
At a shop I used to work at we had an exocet mx5 using nb subframes and full standalone ecu. The guy who commissioned the build also wanted it turbo!! So here is an exocet with a hair over 300 horsepower and weighs less than 1700 pounds. Its batshit crazy

I had a laser in early 2000s high school years, learned to drive stick on it, roasted the front tires everywhere I went, learned to change a clutch on it, and didn't even realize how cool it was.
My pick would be a 2003-2011 Mercury grand Marquis there not the best for track builds but there a cheap fun rwd v8 with amazing reliability and a comfortable roomy interior

The Crown Victoria. You can't walk outside without tripping over one, the parts are practically free, and it has, possibly, the most reliable engine ever made. And mods are everywhere, because it's basically a four door mustang. I've owned 3 and raced them all, until Chicago winters turned the frame to dust.
@@pawa303 they never made manual Crown Victorias. I think you can put in a Mustang transmission but no Crown Vic is manual stock.
Crown Vics have inflated over the years in Ontario, Canada. I myself own a Grand Marquis which I bought years ago but any low mileage panther platform car in good shape can run 6-10+k

i love that z3’s got some love in this video. definitely most underrated e36.
Listen quietly and you’ll hear the prices of all of these cars going up after this video.
My stomach flipped when he said Porsche because I just know the ones in my area are going to go up 1000 dollars
Well, maybe they bought the 944 and now they're trying to flip it, so that's the reason they did that video to boost the value lol
I'm alright with that! I've got 10 dsm's and 4 for sale right now so just more money for me.

There’s so many new parts on this car that I could advertise it as a full restoration.
I drove it maybe 6 times in the last 2 years because this pos wouldn’t start.
I hate this car.

@@MrLayton1990 Honesty for $7,000 you can get a late '90s Porsche Boxster. It's a really fun car to drive and is basically a mid-engine Miata. It's my dream car and I'm gonna buy one as soon as I finish college and start working.
I was 1 car in and realized I'd already watched this ep. Watched it again anyway. Btw watching that 944 be rebuilt would've been a show I'd tune it for.
Man the e36 caught me off suprise. I've had mine for only 5 months now but I loved every single second I've driven of it
WHY IS THERE A “NO PROJECT CARS” RULE IN DONUT MEDIA?!!!

I got a dirt cheap mini r53 and I’ve had a really easy time finding parts. Yeah they’re super leaky and stuff tends to fail, but if you can find one with lower mileage that’s been taken care of then you’re set. There’s also a lot of online support for k-series and 2jz swaps. Honestly one of the funnest cars I’ve driven
lol a 2JZ would be hilarious
Is James okay? He’s been looking depressed lately and I feel really bad for him :/ James if you hear this buddy, we love you and hope you get better
he doesn’t have the same vibe he used to idk i feel it
He's got a drug and/or alcohol problem for sure. Trust.
Yo we need to get this one more attention, so I’ve noticed this too and it worries me. Part of me thinks it’s just stress but I do hope he’s ok.
I heard somewhere that the high energy character he is on Donut isn’t really his natural demeanor, so he could just be easing out of the high energy-ness of the character a little.
@@BigStreams_ If that’s true then it make A LOT of sense. Sorta feel dumb for worrying, but it would make sense.

ive got a mk4 gti with the awp 1.8t. wish it had taller gears for highway cruising
best seats though no question, mad good leg and lumbar bolstering
6'3 and I've owned three NA Miatas. never felt cramped...
What about an Exocet MX5 but you also do an LS swap. It’s hardly a Miata at that point.
Do it
What? A two wheeled legend in a four wheeled comment section. This is strange.👀
At a shop I used to work at we had an exocet mx5 using nb subframes and full standalone ecu. The guy who commissioned the build also wanted it turbo!! So here is an exocet with a hair over 300 horsepower and weighs less than 1700 pounds. Its batshit crazy
