    Oh man!!! I was just handed my WP pump and other goodies today from the dealer (funny, I just paid $35 from AOMC for a vented air box cover and they gave me one with the bike!) as I get my bike delivered tomorrow and I was just going to ask for a vid or explanation about these air shocks. This is all new technology and overwhelming to me as I have no clue what I am doing with suspension. Last dirt bike I had was a 2000 CR 250 and all I did was mix the gas/oil and ride! Never turned a "click" on a suspension, never played with air pumps etc LOLOLOLOL

      I know, same! You will learn to love all the tech advancements and ways to take care of the bike - we have.

    Is it the same on 2023 KTM450 SXF? I’m 143 lbs with gear. Wondering what pressures should be? As well as clickers on both forks And shock? Any advice?

      Set air pressure at 140 to start and see how it feels then start adjusting clickers

    Do you need to open the bleeder valve after you fill them?

    • @motorbros
      @motorbros  ปีที่แล้ว

      No, close after filling.

    Sorry, one more question.....I'm 5'7" with a 29" inseam. Seeing him next to a bike, Mike looks to be near my height give or take a few inches. What's the trick to getting on and off the bike for short people? This 350 is crazy tall and I even purchased the block stands by Motorsport where you can raise them 3"-9". But that only helps where I start. Is Mike able to just throw his leg over and get on? Also, if you look at pics of Carmichael (5'6") and Stewart (5'7") they look as though they can touch easy. How? Even thinking about buy a -15mm seat and then having a Guts cover put on. I've been told to not lower the bike as it will compromise the suspension.

      Mike is only 5’4 and somehow manages with factory settings/seat on his bike. He seems to angle the bike with one leg hanging above the peg until he throws it in gear. Short seats is an option and their are lowering kits for shocks but we have read that it can throw off the balance of the bike. He just deals with it, haha.

      Iam also 5‘7 and dont have any problems touching the ground with two feet on any of my bikes.

      @@HowThingsAreaaa Well, doing the simple math, you either have really really long legs and/or a really really short torso if you're truly 5'7". The seat heights on these bikes are 38" tall (again, simple math applies) so you shouldn't be able to touch, even with a 30" inseam. I also don't know any men 5'7" -5'8" with inseams of 34". You're obviously very lucky because I have friends who are 5'9" with 31" inseams and can barely touch the ground. What's your pants inseam.....36"? (that's usually an inseam of someone 6'2" or taller). Something tells me you're much taller than you believe. LOL

      @@brutus6328 I have an inseam of prox 35,5 lol

    1st step should be to put the bike on a stand, and lift the front wheel off the ground while reading, and adjusting fork pressure....

    162psi -15psi in the shock pumps air tube 147psi in the fork! No air escape from the actual fork its the hose inflation 15psi that drops, like if you were to re attach the shock pump it would be at a lower psi as would have to account for what ms stored in the hose

    I weigh 240 . How many pounds should I put in my forks to start with .

    • @motorbros
      @motorbros  ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question. I went to a suspension specialist for my weight. Good idea to do the same.

  • @brutus6328
    @brutus6328 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Wait, you only do this on one side? That's the air for the entire front suspension?

    • @brutus6328
      @brutus6328 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@motorbros Wait, now I'm confused (and I thought I finally understood after reading the manual! LOL).....the manual only shows to put air in on the left side like you did in the video. You're saying there is a valve on the right too in order to add air? I know there are other adjustments on the right but I don't see another valve for air

    • @motorbros
      @motorbros  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Just the one side!

    • @brutus6328
      @brutus6328 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@motorbros Hahahaha....funny, I thought I had it all figured out til you said "no, you do both, we just didn't show the other side"....so, I went right out to my bike and I'm looking and looking at the right fork and I'm thinking "Where the hell is the valve for the air on this side"......Of course, I go back to the manual thinking they MUST have shown the valve on the right as well......NOPE! LOLOL

    The reason the psi shot up so rapidly is you didn’t seat the pump hose completely. Screw it on further. . It normally takes 1-2 pumps for a 1 psi increase….

    • @motorbros
      @motorbros  ปีที่แล้ว

      Good call on that!

  • @brutus6328
    @brutus6328 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I'm guessing you made a mistake saying you just showed the one side regarding the air in the front forks....right? I searched everywhere and even the manual says to just put the air in the left fork and NOT in both. Not to mention, there's no valve to hook the pump up to on the right fork.....correct?

    • @motorbros
      @motorbros  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good call! Will delete that comment.

    You didn't state what preload-sag is. Not very technical. Too vague. psi means nothing. It's sag that determines proper pressure.

    • @motorbros
      @motorbros  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey, thanks for pointing that out. Sag was set to std per the KTM specs by KTM World.
