I’m glad the avenged sevenfold didn’t go unnoticed in the comments. IMMEDIATELY felt the vibes as the demo track started and I saw the jet city in the background. Good stuff!!
Yep sure enough and I have the original A-1 Avenger! I still play it to this day. Honestly it’s probably in my top few guitars I have. I think it will always hold a special place in my heart being one of my first guitars when I started playing.
What I love, is how every time you review gear, you compose and structure the demo in a way that is influenced by the source material/ artist. You don’t get nearly enough credit for how good your ear is. Great playing, great review, wishing you all the best. Keep moving
Appreciate the little Canada nod with the Sum 41 riff. Also funny to hear that clean riff after describing it as "Unapologetically metal". Keep the great vids coming! :)
The most impressive part of this video was seeing how much noise you have to deal with in that apartment. That amp hiss wasn’t even amp hiss. Just straight up noise. I’m surprised you make such great sounding demos. Even more impressed
I remember seeing ads for Schecter Avengers dating back a few years before Ax7 started to get big. I first remember hearing them on a demo CD back in 2004, and remember ads for the Avenger guitar shape around 1999-2000 (forgive my foggy memory for over 20 years ago). It may not have been a coincidence that ZV chose that model for his signature.
I love that you use a Revv Pedal in a A7X style demo track. Very punny but I like it. That was also one of your best written (and best mixed) demo tracks in a while!
The Avenger is absolutely my favorite body shape there has ever been. I don't personally find it so edgelord-y or pointy guitarish, I see it as a very sleek sort of shape. Yeah, still pointy, but very...I dunno, smooth?
Literally one of the original Avengers definitely is one of the best guitars iv played especially the unofficial original a7x one. But frfr Avenged sevenfold is my favorite band
You did absolutely amazing. So talented. love your vids! and how you managed to sound more like avenged sevenfold than avenged sevenfold themselves is crazy.
Blackjacks are rad. I have an old C1 that I upgraded with Sperzel lockers and kicked the Duncans to another guitar in favor of an 81/85 set. The black with the antique white binding looks amazing, and their neck to body contour should be shown to people at Gibson/Epi as the way it should be done.
I love my Avenger. I don't have the blackjack, I have the satin red with the bevel, and SD Pegasus and sentient pups. Its my go to axe. I love the Lundgren pups. I've been contemplating the schecter solo blackjack.
Have you tried one of Schecters Solo II Blackjack versions? To me it looks like it would be the single cut brother version of that guitar. I have one that is a prototype from a year or two ago that has emg pickups installed.
Avenger is one of my favorite body styles! My A-1 is one I play with almost every day. I love it and the horn has never been in the way for me. I’m a big guy and it’s never uncomfortable to play. It has to be one of the most unique guitars I own and I’m so glad for it! I’ve been into all shapes as of late. I plan to get one of these when I can to have a more modern version. Still rocking my old one stock because I didn’t want to change it. I get some great sounds out of it!
I wish Lundgren pickups got more attention. I just recently put them in my Ltd ec-258 and it makes it sound like a $1000+ guitar. They are extremely versatile and worth the price.
I love the avenger shape, I almost bought an 8 string one a few years ago but ended up going with a BC Rich Warlock Mk5 instead. If I’m ever in the market for an 8 string chances are I’ll go for one of these
I don’t want a signature guitar but I like the headstock on syns guitar better for sure. You can sometimes find some they’ve made with they headstock but it’s rare. I remember they were auctioning off a black and red one a few years ago. I think it was one of a kind.
HOLY SHIT was that an awesome demo song! The leads have a very strong NES vibe that is worthy of the best Mega Man, Ninja Gaiden or Sunsoft games! Awesome looking guitar, and those are Schecters best inlays!
Just to let you know, Hunter, the Schecter Avenger model predates A7X by some years. However, I am sure they were kickass back then and still are today. Schecter made the best guitar I have and is one of the few companies ever to get me to buy more than one of their products. In fact, I've started entertaining the idea of getting an unprecedented THIRD Schecter - though I have yet to decide which one! GREAT guitar company!
Oh yeah. 15 years ago I was obsessed with these. This was my "BC Rich is so over the top" replacement wanna be. But I just stuck with my Heritage H150 and Gibson Explorer as the main metalcore drivers.

The Rev(v), best pedal for the best drummer.
I rlly want the Revv G8 but it's expensive af, and I'm poor.
As a huge Avenged Sevenfold fan, I was so hyped to mix this lol
On an A7X Inspired Song a Rev(v) Pedal makes me smile , Jimmy was the best drummer of A7X
@@bernddoolmann247 FoREVer 😭
it's one of my fave demo tracks, the mix was real good.
This was one of your better mixes.
@@MarciRayn Thank you ❤️
The demo track was *exactly* what it should be for this guitar. Chefs kiss 👌
I don’t really listen to Avenged Sevenfold so I wasn’t sure how it was going to come out haha. Glad you enjoyed it!
@@agufish Glorious track title though XD
The avenged vibes were strong with this one indeed 😍
Unapologetic Creed riff 😤🤘🏼
I’m glad the avenged sevenfold didn’t go unnoticed in the comments. IMMEDIATELY felt the vibes as the demo track started and I saw the jet city in the background. Good stuff!!
Oh I promise it was very intentional lol
Hunter asked how to make something sound like A7X and I knew what was coming.
did syn use jet city amps?
@@ThePatricius12345 Zacky Vengeance did, and still does I believe.
New title for the vid "If Tremonti were to play a pointy guitar when he was in Creed". 🤣
The Avenger had its name prior to Synyster Gates adopting it, but it’s become synonymous enough with him, that it might as well be named after them.
Haha appreciate the clarification. That's crazy the names fit so well
It really is
Yep sure enough and I have the original A-1 Avenger! I still play it to this day. Honestly it’s probably in my top few guitars I have. I think it will always hold a special place in my heart being one of my first guitars when I started playing.
Sounds like somebody was inspired by Nightmare... Great vid, keep it up!
What I love, is how every time you review gear, you compose and structure the demo in a way that is influenced by the source material/ artist.
You don’t get nearly enough credit for how good your ear is. Great playing, great review, wishing you all the best. Keep moving

the "it's not just a phase mom!" guitar
😝😆 “no, seriously, it’s not mom.”
Really nice job on the intro piece. Definitely felt Ax7 without coming across as a repeating of their riffs.
Looks and sounds great! The design is tastefully edge haha
Wow the demo was incredible! Wow what a track 👏👏👏👏 and only 59 minutes late 😂
Dude! You Guitar Playing Is So Good! I Dig It!
Dude, that was your best demo track yet!
Oh my god that mix was the most avenged sevenfold sounding thing I've ever heard
Thank you! ❤️
Hunter, legit I've been away from guitar videos for a few years and holy fuck have you improved as a guitarist!!! Like you're noticeably better!
This is my favorite series release they’ve done! Super clean looking guitar and it feels great to play. I got the C-7 and it’s been hard to put down
2:29
"Short History of the PRS Starla"
Hmm, quite honestly the edgiest PRS guitar they've made yet, also didn't know they rebranded.
The YT comments are unforgiving and don't miss anything. Timestamps updated!
Please say the Revv sponsorship was intentional with an A7x-esque guitar. Also that intro track was just perfect
I need that guitar with seven and reverse headstock.
You need to record demos like this more often. This sounds way better than normal
Thank ya! 😉
The most impressive part of this video was seeing how much noise you have to deal with in that apartment. That amp hiss wasn’t even amp hiss. Just straight up noise. I’m surprised you make such great sounding demos. Even more impressed
It was an Avenger before Avenged 7 fold. I won one at a SLAYER concert and love it.
I remember seeing ads for Schecter Avengers dating back a few years before Ax7 started to get big. @@fezmey6117 I believe ZV signature guitar shape is the S-1 shape.. While Avenger shape is adopted by Synyster Gates
I'm just wondering how hard Hunter cringed when he first saw this body shape.
I had a first year syn gates and can confirm the upper horn is dangerous.
Smacked my forehead and blacked out once.
I love that you use a Revv Pedal in a A7X style demo track. Very punny but I like it. That was also one of your best written (and best mixed) demo tracks in a while!
Such a great demo track!
Love these guitars. I have an Avenger Damien Elite FR and I love the aesthetic of the Avenger shape
Nice! The one with the elaborate abalone inlays?
@@agufish yes. But no abalone binding like the Hellraiser
That A7X demo at the start sounded fucking awesome, it definitely gave me City of Evil/self-titled vibes and the guitar itself sounds dope as well
The Avenger is super old school! I have a 7 String Avenger from 1998!!
Thanks to your video i grabbed my guitar and i learned hail to the king, it's so much fun to play the rithm section :)) thanks for that!
The Avenger is absolutely my favorite body shape there has ever been. I don't personally find it so edgelord-y or pointy guitarish, I see it as a very sleek sort of shape. Yeah, still pointy, but very...I dunno, smooth?
Very Sevenfoldy 🤣

Get that Creed/Tremonti riff going son 👍
Attack Attack!!!
The new Schecter Blackjack series are awesome. Spec'd out to the hilt with a new pickup vibe to add to your collection.
Not often we hear your Creed era Tremonti influence come out
Blackjacks are rad. I have an old C1 that I upgraded with Sperzel lockers and kicked the Duncans to another guitar in favor of an 81/85 set. The black with the antique white binding looks amazing, and their neck to body contour should be shown to people at Gibson/Epi as the way it should be done.
Just called my sweetwater dude to send a noise gate as soon as they get them in.
I'm digging this opening demo, Hunter!!
that headstock looks like what ESP do with their tele's.
The only disappointment was that you played some Creed lol
Nice video! I've always loved this shape. I like all guitars, but I like the odd ones the most. Being a metal machine always helps too. 🤘😆🤘
Great demo track on this! Good work bro!
I love my Avenger. I don't have the blackjack, I have the satin red with the bevel, and SD Pegasus and sentient pups. Its my go to axe. I love the Lundgren pups. I've been contemplating the schecter solo blackjack.
I didn’t see a single monster energy drink
I accidentally had a Red Bull prior to writing this instead and had to hide it lol #traitor
Understandable love you videos keep doing what your doing
Have you tried one of Schecters Solo II Blackjack versions? To me it looks like it would be the single cut brother version of that guitar. I have one that is a prototype from a year or two ago that has emg pickups installed.
It is the same Todd. Same Lungren pickups, SSfrets, locking tuners, compound radius ebony fretboard. Absolutely beautiful and a joy to play. Do it!
Avenger is one of my favorite body styles! My A-1 is one I play with almost every day. I love it and the horn has never been in the way for me. I’m a big guy and it’s never uncomfortable to play. You are getting crazy good at replicating a bands sound. That could easily be an A7X song....Avenged Sevenfish.
Everyone's talking about the Creed riff, but nobody is talking about the multiple Sum 41 riffs.
nice sum41 riffs tho
I'm also not a big pedal fan, but I need my noise gate. I'l have to pick up a Revv next time I go to Canada.
Looks sick! I’ve never really liked gloss necks so it is awesome seeing them do something different
My PT is the best
SCHECTER RULES
"Generic edge lord guitar" lol
Intro track was bad ass \m/
Massive AX7 vibes here, fux yeah.
Ordered the C-1 Blackjack, can't wait
Wow, this new A7X song slaps! Didn't know you made it
I tried a Schecter Banshee Mach 6 but didn‘t like the Lundgren pickups. They have a very exaggerated upper midrange that sounded kinda quacky to me.
Thank you for saving me the trouble. I was actually looking at Lundgrens for my Damien but you are a hero. Thanks millions!
Very nice A7X type rhythm and harmony dude.
Revved up after seeing this vid!
Creed on a pointy Schecter, I'm all for it 🤘🎸
REVV is awesome. I got the G3 pedal and it sounds amazing.
I had the same Hellraiser C1 red w EMGs - got it used for like $450 still miss it years later
Excellent guitars
I love the avenger shape, I almost bought an 8 string one a few years ago but ended up going with a BC Rich Warlock Mk5 instead. If I’m ever in the market for an 8 string chances are I’ll go for one of these
I'm not really a fan of Avenged. But,I've really wanted one of the Revenger 7's for a few years.i just like the look.🤘
Uau! Great sound and melody! Top man... 🤘🇵🇹
This looks like a guitar the Kitty Kat would like. Where is that Kitty Kat?
🤤...
I'm not gonna lie, I almost cried tears of joy when I saw that Hunter didn't scoop the fucking mids for once
those Jet City amps are so killer, I miss mine
Everyone is like "waahhh Avenged Sevenfold" and I'm just here enjoying the Sum
This guitar is so rad. Was it comfortable to play with that mighty Kyle chakra Avenger shape?
6:20 massive balls for playing Sum 41 on an "Metalcore Guitar" 🤣
It's your f****in' niiiiightmare.
I am digging this guitar. Got one Schecter and am putting in an order for another (That is if my guitar shop can find a lefty).
Nissssssssssssssssssce 🍻
It needs a reverse headstock!
Noice
I spy the Jet City being used, very nice
Dude I felt the a7x style 110% I really liked this track 🤘🤘 if you were trying to replicate the sound you nailed it bro. What are your amp settings?
Those avengers are so sick

The Schecter C is a excellent design. From the curvature to the neck profile.
I actually don’t mind the body shape but for some reason that head stock is BF ugly to me.
HOLY SHIT was that an awesome demo song! The leads have a very strong NES vibe that is worthy of the best Mega Man, Ninja Gaiden or Sunsoft games!
