Koeman is just as stubborn as Southgate and will start another match with Memphis handing in every ball as a striker. Whoever is the luckiest will win this.
To be fair the netherlands have been struggling against underdog teams. Battered by Austria, barely scraped through against Turkey... If it goes to penalties I think they'll struggle, England probably have the best pen takers in the group, but It'll be a struggle for them not to concede for a full 120.

Changes are needed but also bring problems. Watkins can't come in, he has had almost no minutes so the team can't play with him. Bowen, the same. Gomez, Wharton, Dunk could all go home yesterday. Gallagher and Trent get stuffed all over the pitch. Gordon has had 5 minutes. The group stage was the chance to use the squad so everyone (or as many as possible) has had some minutes, the players know how to fit in. He can't make 4-5 changes in the semi final. I’ll use Argentina as an example because I think the changes Scaloni made were drastic but for all the right reasons. The first game had Paredes, Gomez and Martinez on match day one. They lost, changes were made and it gave to the rise of players like Alvarez, MacAllister and Fernandez. You’ve got to be bold at times when things just aren’t working.

I think the obsession with Trippier on the left has crippled us and forced everything to go down the right through saka who gets double marked, finally being able to start Shaw there will change everything (if he can not get injured again) and allow Foden to play more naturally from that left/middle position

I agree with your stance.. but we cant really argue at this point. That is the biggest problem with England fans and our media - the criticism. Means no balance for 40 years. I’ll use Argentina as an example because I think the changes Scaloni made were drastic but for all the right reasons. The first game had Paredes, Gomez and Martinez on match day one. They lost, changes were made and it gave to the rise of players like Alvarez, MacAllister and Fernandez. You’ve got to be bold at times when things just aren’t working.

I think the obsession with Trippier on the left has crippled us and forced everything to go down the right through saka who gets double marked, finally being able to start Shaw there will change everything (if he can not get injured again) and allow Foden to play more naturally from that left/middle position
