Is this a blind reaction or do you know the episode? Yeah they could split up, but that would just make them rivals. It's probably more fun for them to do this together as a group :) I kinda feel sorry for Johnny, Angela sure likes to take advantage of him. I find it a little hard to believe that a couple of kids could actually play guitar and drums without it being anything more than noise :D I like this song more than the Halloween song too, and imho Angela's voice fits this sort of music genre a little better. Yeah I agree with your point in the end, Nanette IS the better singer...I actually quite like the song she sings with her minions. And honestly, Angela's band is actually pretty...bad.
Chris I knew the episode but I was paying more attention to it this time around. Johnny really does get taken advantage of a lot. I like the idea of them playing all together too. Diva Gordy especially was hilarious. But they wouldn’t have been rivals because they would have shared the prize like they did at the end. I think it would have been hilarious if Nanette wrote an insult song about Angela so that way she could retaliate with the one in the revenge fantasy. Missed opportunity. The kids band isn’t that good in-universe. They do lose. Good point! Her voice definitely fits this genre better than the Halloween song.
I actually thought the songs were quite catchy, but you’re right in the sense that Angela’s revenge fantasy song had childish lyrics and could’ve been written better. I also think Angela should have her own singing voice that sounds kinda close to Sue Rose’s voice. That being said, in the episode Nanette probably hired professional singers to sing for her and her group. I mean, she has the money.
Christopher Dubois I did have fun with Funny Photos but it is also one I overanalyze. We have some different opinions. So far, I think the best ones are “Secret Santa” and “Goodbye Mrs Brinks.” I haven’t seen “I’m with Stupid,” so that could be one I review later.
