Mega trucks are such a hot ticket lately, glad to see a realistic version of one. I can see a bunch of construction guys like me buying one and tearing up the job sites on lunchtime.
speed run was actually terrifying. imagine a corgi or your shins getting obliterated by that beast. great content as always. this channel will explode in the next 2-5 years.
45MPh?! That’s nuts! My typhon 3S only does 48, and it’s a buggy! Granted this thing definitely can’t take corners at full speed like the Typhon can lol
Haha true, the mega truck can't take any turns at high speed. Did you notice we almost stuffed the truck into the curb on our second pass. It was really sketchy. -Brett
This is another excellent review. I enjoyed it. I watched two other reviews of this chassis and the both like it. Bit, both had leaking shocks also. My only question is wears the mud?
My King Sling is the slowest, worst handling, and fragile truck i own. I rarely drive it because it's such a bad RC truck and it usually breaks. I absolutely love it! It's crazy how it can be so bad but so freaking cool. It's so cool that you don't even mind it sucks. There is definitely no other RC out there close to it.
@@AMain_Hobbies thanks Brett, glad you liked it! Surprised how well it came out considering I was filming and driving at the same time. I guess commenting must be turned off for some reason 🤔
I got one bc of this video to play with my dogs with. And they can’t keep up with it on 3s. Way faster in person then on camera. Way to go guys! What’s some good up grades been using mine as a basher
Pretty badass, has good potential, could make it look sweet. Gunna need to big bore shocks, the stock won't last on a truck like this. But, ya gotta start somewhere.
@@bobhilly546312156332 I bet. They seem like great, down-to-earth guys. Super cool you've met and dealt with them, and saw the King Sling in person (and worked on it!). -Brett
$700 for this it looks kinda cheep the plastic chrome wheels kind of ruin it. Couldnt they have put some two piece wheels or some nice beadlocks for this price and not some cheap walmart wheels.
@@Shane9905 Has anyone found a fix for the leaky shocks? I pick up a Bog Hog today and 3 of the shocks are leaking right out of the box. Are they just build incorrectly from the factory or a defective design?
It seems like the revised shocks with the locknut inside to hold the piston instead of an e-clip are all leaking. It's obvious in every review, have not seen one who didn't have one shock leaking after the first run, even without jumps. Losi tried to address the problem of shocks getting ripped apart during expansion when the heavy wheels and axles pull on them, but it would be better and realistic to put limiting straps on them, as most people did on their LMT monstertrucks (those for the Traxxas UDR fit). The steering links only have plastic on the outside as a cover by the way, on the inside there is a metal rod, probably aluminium. It's sad they didn't address the main problems like the small metal rods on the sway bar links breaking and the kingpins holding the front steering knuckles slipping out as the setscrews can't hold them without loctite.
Great tips on this comment. I'm very interested in the original LMT chassis and have seen the videos of the newer King Sling in order to learn more about the chassis, improvements and weaker points overall, so this was super helpful. Thanks!!
@@YoShImUrA53 You're welcome! I do see some improvements on the new version like the battery tray with more options, the mudguards on the shocks and the bigger motor with 2800 kV. The 3150 kV motor in the monstertrucks tend to stutter/cog slightly when starting or trying to drive slow, indicating too high resistance/not enough starting torque. I'd recommend a sensored system, as they have much better low end torque and smoother operation at low speeds. You're most likely also going to replace the servo and servo horn/saver with something more durable. It develops play after some hard runs and the steering is a little too weak. In general you can check TH-cam channels which have upgraded their LMT monstertrucks. I wouldn't upgrade the V2 axle housings to aluminium until they really break though. So far I only saw the V1 break and aluminium axle housings are expensive. Lots of people who have that upgrade bought the early version of the LMT. Sway bar links, limiting straps, loctite on the setscrews of the kingpins, servo and servo horn are definitely some upgrades to consider. The old shocks don't leak at all, IMO they are better as long as they are protected with limiting straps. Otherwise either the rod end at the bottom will rip off or the e-clip holding the piston at the top inside.
@@razorblade7108 Awesome, thanks again! This also points me in my initial direction of maybe going with the roller. Too bad no importer brings them to mainland Europe. Then again, I can always fit the electronics in another similarly sized basher. It would be great to have a V2 LMT, unless we speak of the current shock system, which as you say seems to leak on every instance we've seem them so far (I believe only CCxRC said he didn't have any leaks, but not 100% sure).
Your not the first to have problems with the shocks leaking just take the shocks off and tighten up the cap and put them back on so far it's only been the front shocks hope this helps

Fantastic review, but omg MY EYES. What a hideous toy grade looking truck. It goes great, it's BUILT, but it hit every branch on the way down the ugly tree. Love the skinny tyres, it's fast, it handles for a big truck, but tht colour.... if the chassis was black it would counteract the wall of green that the side gives you. Sorry, I can't get past the look, I'd have to paint it or dye it. And that includes the bodyshell. And to restate - loved the review and the truck PERFORMANCE 👍🍺🇬🇧

Really keen on this Truck BUT the leaking shocks are definitely an issue they need to resolve.

Interesting, Mark Santa Maria also had oil leakages out of both front shocks on his LMT Mega Mud Bogger.
RC Driver reported this as well. Hopefully this is just due to improperly tightening the shocks up and not just cheap shocks.
