    Thanks Shirley! The house is a die cut with coordinating stamp set by Stampin' Up! called Holiday Home. They are both retired and no longer available through Stampin' Up!.

    Great tutorial, thanks so much. As far as I know, this term came from Japan, and its pronounced "bow-keh" with no accent or emphasis on the second syllable (or the first one either). I could be wrong but this was how I learned about the term when I first heard it.

    I love both of these cards!! I especially loved the yellow one! Is the house a die cut, or a stamp? It makes an awesome Christmas card! Love the way the background technique looks!

    This is an awesome technique, Dawn! I have pinned it for reference. I see inky fingers (the best kind) in my future! LOL Tfs!

    OK, so the object is NOT to blend so as to not see the round shape of the dauber, but to leave some circles to make it appear like bubbles. Love it! Guess I better get some new daubers, as mine are so old they're falling apart. :) TFS!

    I have tried this a couple of times using two different quality brands of white pigment ink, and both times the white would not dry. I used a light touch, let the cards sit for 72 hours, and tried a fixative. In the end I covered them with vellum which softened the look even more . The backgrounds did turn out beautiful, though, so I will be trying this again, but with a white dye ink rather than pigment. Thank you for sharing.

      It could be possible that different environments/elevation effect the drying process. Thanks for sharing your tips.

      did you try to heat set it? Sometimes it's the ONLY way a pigment ink will dry

    • @AScrapOfKindness
      @AScrapOfKindness 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      LeighAnn Rebillard No, can't say I tried heat setting. Thanks for the idea! I will try my hand at it again, as I need to make a birthday card for next week.

      I have the same problem with pigment ink, and no amount of air drying seems to get it dry. Heat setting is the way to go, and even with the heat tool it sometimes takes several tries. But it eventually does dry. :)

    Dawn, I love this technique and you have inspired me to try this! I did love the Christmas card you made with the Daffodil Delight. Are the house stamps from Stampin' Up?

    • @dostamping
      @dostamping  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, Diane. The houses were from the stamp set, Holiday Home that were available with coordinating Framelits. Unfortunately, they are retired and no longer available through Stampin' Up!.

    Love this technique. My question is do the circles have to be white? Can I use any other light color that might co-ordinate with the main colors of the card? Thanks.

    • @dostamping
      @dostamping  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Diane Krecisz I have only tried white Diane - but I would think any light color would look good.
