Here’s a look at how you can create an S-Curve in Primavera P6 Professional. S-curves are great graphical project management tools for project planning and measuring project performance. They can show the progress of work over time and form a historical record of project trends and variations.
An s-curve helps monitor the success of a project because actual, real-time data elements of the project like costs, hours or units can be compared with projected data. The degree of alignment between the two graphs reveals the progress of whichever element is being studied. If corrections need to be made to get the project back on track, the s-curve can help identify them.
Primavera P6 supports two ways of generating S-Curves, in the Resource Usage Profile bottom layout in the Activities view and also in the Resource Profile area of the Tracking view. Let’s take a closer look in the video..

How to show actual curvewith cost loaded schedule

To visualize the actual cost curve alongside a cost-loaded schedule within Primavera P6's Activity Usage Profile, follow these precise steps:
🔴Access the Activity Usage Profile:
✅Within the desired project, navigate to the Activities view.
✅Locate the bottom layout panel and click on Activity Usage Profile.
🔴Enable Actual Cost Display:
✅Right-click within the Activity Usage Profile panel.
✅Select Activity Usage Profile Options.
✅Navigate to the Data tab.
✅Under Display Actual and Earned Value using Financial Period data, ensure the checkbox is unchecked.
✅In the Show Bars/Curves section, check the box next to Actual.
✅Click OK to apply the settings.
🔴View the Actual Cost Curve:
✅The Activity Usage Profile will now display two curves:
🌟 Planned Cost Curve (Baseline): Represents the planned cost distribution over time.
🌟 Actual Cost Curve: Illustrates the actual costs incurred to date, providing a visual comparison with the planned costs.

Hi,
thanks for this Video. Do you know, how I can change the scaling on the left and right side of the activity usage profile? The max value from my planned value labor units graph is 7000h and the scaling on the right side goes up to 12000h. So the graph on the activity usage profile looks very flat.
