This is our Pink Floyd cover band, "Pink Tones" playing our version of Atom Heart Mother absolutely live at the 2000 year old "Segobriga Roman Amphitheatre", one hour from Madrid (Spain).
We wanted to do something with the "live at Pompeii" feeling but also different. Something that goes further than the usual tribute band stuff and add something else.
With lots of respect to the originals, but also letting us go with ideas, and the will to do something different, this is our homage to a great song, a great band, and, because of the way the song perfectly fits that ancient, haunting place, a tribute to that lost civilization.
We played the song 4 times, around noon, and each time the cameras were set in different places, in order to have as many video positions as possible and at the same time, not to see the camera men in the final video. If you see small inconsistencies between image and audio it's because we used video from all takes, but the audio is exclusively the Take 3. We used absolutely no EQ nor compression or any treatment, it sounded that good as it was.
Before someone asks, the guitar has no mic in front of the WEM cabinet because it's recorded directly through an Axe-Fx unit.
Well, we hope you like this, it was a magical day, full of joy, illusion and hard work, and absolutely soaked in a "big family" vibe, with lots of friends that got involved purely for love to art, just the way we imagine these kind of things were done back in the 70s.

I think its the best cover of Atom Heart that I ever heard. And video beatiful, something like Pompeii.
Yeah, it captures the etherial quality of the original superbly.
Where there are (pretty slight) divergences from Floyd's version they're not inferior ....... possibly a couple in the vocal section around the 8 minute + mark ar a fractional enhancement!
I've seen the *real* Pink Floyd (and Aussie Floyd who are brilliant too) and I just can't complement this outfit highly enough. They are excellent.

Definitely, I agree. I saw the "genuine" outfit in 1972 and was hooked for life. These guys are performing a wonderful tribute here.

Pink Floyd members will be proud of it.
Considering that this piece is in my top 5 pieces of music ever made, I have pretty high demands for how it's done. And this really is amazing. The only weak point was the brass section, who weren't quite in tune in the beginning, but they got it together towards the end. In every other way this is absolutely the best cover of this piece I've ever seen, and I mean that in every way. The staging was imaginative, beautiful, and appropriate. The photography worked with the band and the staging, to create something really awe inspiring. I appreciate the guitarist sticking to Gilmour's notes. I see this as a classical piece and those notes are important, not just jamming. The solo vocalist was put in a very difficult position, having to sustain both quality and attention on her own, without a full choir. She handled it beautifully and her vocals were by far the best on any cover. In fact, considering holding the whole thing up on her own, it's better than the album. Flawless, really. The band, by being true to the music, were also flawless, and did the best of any version I've heard. They took the piece seriously. I can't stress how important that is, it's respect. The end section of Funky Dung- and importantly, the drum break coming out of it- were flawless. And I've never seen that done properly before, by the band or by any version with Geesin, who deserves equal credit with the band for the creation of this. The end, with the choir behind the band, the vista in the background, was for me, literally breathtaking. Last night I watched several versions of the piece being performed live by different people in different settings. This was the best. Thanks for taking this seriously, treating it with the respect it deserves, and creating a true piece of art in performance, staging, and photography. If I've been too wordy in my praise, I can just say, I almost never do that. In this case, it's deserved. Well done.
This video just happened to pop up at random in my suggestions, but I'm so glad it did-wow. Again, wow. I'm thrilled at how much this resembles Live at Pompeii visually, but theatrically, you guys made it your own. Love the costumes for the singers, top notch production, a stellar mix... what kind of black magic did you all have to perform to get it to sound this good?! Your guitarist's tone and phrasing perfectly resembles the fuzz/pre-Big Muff era Gilmour. And the female vocalist delivered a stunningly beautiful performance. Absolutely incredible. I could go on and on, but instead I'll just sum it all up in two sentences: I really loved this. Thank you.

Me emociona en un doble sentido.Vivo a 30 Km de Segóbriga y soy floydiano hasta la médula, y especialmente Atom Heart Mother es una obra maestra de Pink Floyd que creo hasta hora nadie lo ha tributado como Pink Tones. Excelente trabajo. Siempre había soñado con que alguien hubiera realizado un concierto de Pink Floyd en Segóbriga tocando "Echoes", pero este trabajo me parece incluso mejor todavía para este entorno. Enhorabuena, muy buen trabajo con gusto enm toda la puesta en escena de todos los músicos y coristas. Excelente!!!!

I feel like I’m somehow cheating life for watching this for free... this video is an absolute MASTERPIECE. My sincerest congratulations for making the best cover of any song I’ve ever seen/heard!
This and the other great performances of the Pink Tones, especially at the Segóbriga Roman Amphitheater lead me to a fundamental reflection: I wonder why in popular music, unlike in classical music, the re-performing of musical works, whether as a cover or by a part of the original performers with the support of new band members, is often viewed a little critically. Above all, the comparison of the artists or the versions is, in my opinion, unnecessary. We must finally come to the point that the revival of an oeuvre in popular music has its own charm and is absolutely justified. Nobody expects Paganini himself on stage when an orchestra plays his works these days. And nobody would call the Berliner Symphoniker a cover band. Every new interpretation of the work of great artists by other great artists has its own value. Some of them practice absolute fidelity to the work, others add a personal touch. The Pink Tones' interpretations are my counter-example when criticism is leveled at revivals or interpretations by artists other than the original artists. These performances are just as important and valuable as the original. I am very grateful for the work of the Pink Tones!

Yet we should differentiate between simple covers and profound re-interpretations as is the case with this one made by Pink Tones... as already written above in another post, theirs, albeit with great respect for the original, is a real new version... a re-interpretation therefore in all respects... it's a bit like listening to Vivaldi's 4 Seasons re-interpreted by Max Richter... infact they are commercially offered as The 4 Seasons Recomposed.
I rarely write comments, but I am so glad that I stumbled across this today, it was brilliantly performed and captured on film.
I think you guys have just blown every other Floyd cover band into dust. I wish I could have been there to witness the recording. Congratulations, it's epic!

I had the opportunity to be in one of your concerts in Valladolid some years ago. With my father. We are both Pink Floyd fans. And we can proudly say it was one of our best concerts of our life. I enjoyed it so much.

She and the guitarist really stand out. The horns are a bit off but I give them a pass bc outside is tough to pull off. Love all the vocalists though. Angela really steals the show with the outfit and voice out front

Angela Cervantes flawlessly nailed it, to me, by far the best rendition to this classic song of Pink Floyd, her voice is so smooth from high to low pitch without breaking & she is beautiful. Her renditioned of The Great on the same venue was so fantistic, to me also the best cover. Good Job Angela ! ! !

I still can’t get my head around why the band Pink Floyd never liked this album. It’s simply #beautiful in every way & #remarkable that evokes imagery in the listener's mind. Good job here by Pink Tones by bringing the full orchestra out here in the middle of medieval and playing the music so passionately

Angela Cervantez's voice is so amazing! I was so stunned by her powerful voice. You can listen to another PF song cover "the Great Gig in the Sky" sung by this female vocalist and you will see what I mean.

La primera vez que los vi en Bilbao ya pensé que esto no era una banda tributo normal. Este vídeo es sencillamente de genios. Que sí, que ya sé que la creación no es suya, pero la interpretación es de auténticos genios. Para mí supera mucho a la original. Igual que los Echoes de Pompeya superan a los del disco.
This is awesome! The performance, the setting and the extraordinary effort to recreate a very challenging classic masterpiece from the Floyd. This is one of the few covers that I think is more enjoyable than the original, and I'm an Atom head. Loved the singers and costumes as well.
I know the Floyd don't regard this album as one of their favorites, but it is one of mine. Pink Tones has more than done it justice. From now on, this will be my favorite rendition of Atom Heart Mother. Sacrilege, I know, but sometimes the original can be improved. This is just incredible.

Far and away the best version of this song on TH-cam. There are some other valiant efforts out there but often they are let down by the intonation of the brass or strings or singers - or they don't have the real instruments anyway.

Yo solo digo una cosa, he ido a ver a AC/DC, Whitesnake, Europe, Def Leppard, Judas Priest, WASP, Motorhead, Saxon, UFO, Airbourne, The Answer, Alice Cooper... Etc. Y el concierto de Pink Tones ha sido el mejor concierto que he visto en toda mi vida! Más de 3 horas de concierto! En serio, fue sencillamente increíble, el público más entregado que he visto en mi vida, de verdad, aplaudí y grité a rabiar, sin palabras.

When I was growing up as a teenager in the 90s I always heard musician friends saying Atom heart mother was sublime but it never hit me like other Floyd music. Your version and performance tho, has made me go to revisit the track. I was transported to the ancient greek theater (great edit, direction and atmosphere) with music that sounds like the soundtrack of the creation. Wonderfully done! I will keep watching this over and over in my life. Priceless
