It is certainly a very underrated gem that's for sure, kinda overshadowed by the much more famous (but still killer, stone-cold classic) NES game. There's room for both from my perspective! I play both these games at least a few times a year and I think the only problem I have with it is that I was unfortunate enough to discover it much later on instead of growing up with it so I'm envious you got to grow up with it lol! Wish there was a SNES port or game as well, missed opportunity I think...

Love The Animated Series game, its just too damn hard once you get the Mad Hatter level lol! And the less said about Batman Forever and Revenge Of The Joker the happier I will be lol!

My only issue with the game is I only wish I would've played it and/or known about it as a kid since I would've LOVED it back in the day! Can't complain too much though since I grew up on the Adventures of Batman & Robin on Sega instead tanks to my neighbor having it and we played the hell out of it too! Great times and memories for sure...

The beauty of 90's game is you can remembered all the angle and movement of your character in each stage. This is why 90's gamer can actually beat the game many times....and it's really huge satisfaction to mastered a game on that day!!

You start the game thinking "this is cool nice music smooth animations good controls pretty fun" ... And then the museum stage turns this into an all time classic wow

SNES was my first system so I'm always gonna be ever so slightly biased by just microscopic bit lol! But yeah the Sega Genesis kicked major ass and still does today for my money. All my friends had one and I ended up with one (two actually) not too long later when I was 8 and it was my second console so I'm always gonna be very fond of it and the whole 16-bit era for that matter. But yeah, the music in this game seems to be everyone's favorite aspect/feature of the game and its very, very hard to not agree with everyone because it is awesome and probably one of the best soundtracks on the system. It's got my vote! Just wish that either myself or one of my friends had the game back in the day so we could have enjoyed it much earlier lol!
My childhood Batman game(s) would be a 3-way tie between the SNES Batman Returns and Animated Series games and the Sega Genesis Batman The Animated series game. The NES Batman game came a bit later and sadly this one came much later. A shame since the only problem I have with it is that I heavily wish I had the chance to grow up with like so many others did. Still consistently play it a few times a year as well!

As a kid I probably would've leaned towards the Batman: The Animated Series game but as an adult I certainly prefer this one and will wholeheartedly agree that this was a great and often overlooked Batman/Super-hero game for the time. Very solid all the way through and very easy to pick and play and actually get far in. Which I don't think you can arguably really say about the other ones on the system either unfortunately.

Lol… I got completely stuck at 5:04, not realising there’s some sort of double jump. It’s a tricky game until you realise how generous the enemy hitboxes are.
Yeah it took a bit of time to get the timing of the double jump perfected but it really helped out in spots. The hitboxes are thankfully pretty forgiving so that can also take the edge off of some rather tight spots which would other wise lead to a few more unwanted hits or unintentional deaths.
This is what missing from the gaming community these days I love the fact that the game was different depending on the console you had wish they remake all the old batman games for the new age consoles

Ughh...that's a total drag! I remember restarting my dad's game on Legend Of Zelda: A Link To The Past right when he was on Ganon at the end of the game. Yeah....I accidentally deleted his save file and that did not go over well. Hence, I started gaming in order to get my dad back to that level....the beauty of a 3 yr old brain lol. Karma eventually got me back when I was playing Link to The Past and my brother in his curiosity to what I was playing not only accidentally unplugged my console, but also deleted my save file as well unknowingly. So you could say that I can understand your plight to a certain degree lol!
I got the game when I was around 11 years old. I didn't know of any cheats or nothing back then, and I'm not sure if it was a bug, intentional feature or cheat code, but at around 24:25, before going to second tower, I used to go back from the bridge to get more badges, one could collect up to 99. That way it was easier to beat Joker.
I didn't really have an issue finding a copy of it, took a little time after I started full time collecting to get it, but then again I wasn't looking for it first of all. Just sort of stumbled upon it at a Buy Back (long gone sadly), and for $11, I got a copy.
Lucky find indeed. I got a CIB copy on eBay many years ago now and while it wasn't cheap like say Batman Forever is, it certainly was a good price hence I jumped on it right away. Yeah it's not that way now lol!

It could certainly be a contender for my money. Even back in these days this could arguably be the best of the bunch, and from my perspective, there was a lot of good to great Batman games back in the day. A total stellar game!
I think that was the thing though back then. If you knew what to do and where to go these games were pretty quick but how many hours and days and weeks and sometimes years would you have to give to get to that point of where you had it under your thumb to that degree. I think that is the big difference now when you compare the old games to the new ones. The new ones I find are not really that tough overall but take forever to beat because of their length whereas the old ones are usually pretty short but take forever to beat because they can be tough SOB's on occasion and more often than not lol!
