It like a upgraded version of the 8 bit computers ocean game the batmobile and batwing and the last level it was one of the first 16 bit sega game I got it brought back of batman the movie on my 128 spectrum
Definitely my favorite Batman game from the 1989 movie. My only criticism is that the ending cutscene is kind of week. Would have been great to show the batsignal and Batman at the end instead it's just the Joker on the sidewalk during the credits.
I love playing this game on the Genesis all the time until I have the NES version, but the Genesis version follows the movie perfectly well and the music was amazing just like it's NES counterpart. I got the highest score on this game and I love playing the movie that I love so much.
@@NintendoComplete it actually MADE SENSE even in reality, simply because an enemy would NEVER allow you to get close to him and vice versa, hence if that happens, its as good as an attack from either of you no?
I got my Genesis in 1989 and even though I have played many, many games...I never got this one. I tended to stay away from movie licensed games. My loss because this looks like a certifiable classic. This composer loves iron maiden. The music sounds like it's for a shooter it's good music but this game is easy af compared to the NES version wich also has the better soundtrack big time
@@AlexKaneROTN NES version had much, much better level design and overall gameplay. It was faster paced, had extremely challenging (and rewarding) platforming, and the music was just better. Like many games back in the 80s and early 90s, it was just about being a great game first. Whether or not it was good for the license was always secondary (like the movie itself). And the NES was the better game, even if everyone blew up, Batman had a gun, and you couldn't make a single connection to the actual movie it was based on.
Tap the jump button a 2nd time just after jumping (basically a double-tap), and he does a spin jump that goes a bit further. Don’t worry… this caught me out too!

I initially though this was going to be a Genesis version of the 1989 NES game, but no, it's a complete new game, and the NES version is really better, and that is a shame, cuz I don't have a NES :(
A really solid early showing on the Genesis, with a soundtrack by Kodaka that rocks just as hard as any of his NES music ever did.
Another Batman game based off the 89 movie, and like the NES version, it does justice to the movie.

My brother got the genisis and this game for xmas the year it came out... stiil remember the soundtrack to this day! Mind blowing back then!
I don’t think the music hits as hard as the nes one.

I had Batman on NES and loved it as a kid, never knew Sunsoft made another game on Genesis AND with the same composer. This is cool!
That ending joker boss was an utter joke though what the heck?
Out of all the Batman 89 film games to come out, this is the best of them! That music alone is enough to make this game cooler than what it is.
nah nes destroys this one

Yeah,it's exactly like the 1989 Batman blockbuster!
I like background music I want my childhood back
As kids my brothers, sister and I all loved the cutscene at 11:57 for some reason lol
Fond memories of completing this game, during it's heyday
The music and the graphics to this version is amazing. 😀👍🎮
That ending credit music, tho!
It's sounds similar to 'Scandalous' by Prince, which plays in the end credits of the film. I always thought that was a nice touch by the programmers.
The intro cutscene remids of the intro scene of Streets of Rage for the sega genesis
The best Batman game on the Sega genesis
Now this was the shizzznit!!!! I played this game like I popped a cassette tape....
Used to rent this often, wish I'd bought it.
4:03 Hey that’s not Bruce Wayne, that’s Superman disguised as Batman. No mortal can jump that high.
One of the best Batman games from the old console days, brings me back when i played this everyday till I beat it🎉🎉🎉
Love the soundtrack!

So they summed up the movie plot in the opening screen card
i still like the animation in the 8-bit new way more. cape flapping as batman runs, not speed walking like in this version :( speed walking batman...
Always much preferred this to the NES version.
The music "In the Sky of Gotham City." is based on the Punch Out bout theme on NES and the Minor Bout remake on Punch Out! for the Nintendo Wii.
Wow I have never knew they had one for sega as I had a nes and had that version. But this sega version seems to follow the movie to a tee

I see lot of influence from the original Shinobi in this game
Yes, and very appropriate given Batman’s ninja training.

Much better and more movie accurate than the NES version. The NES version is just a generic side scroller with Batman
Batman nes beta ROM is more complete
Canadian Jack the NES version is still good.
Generic? Perhaps
Great? Absolutely
The NES version is a bonafide classic, this version is pretty damned solid as well.
What’s not generic about this game in comparison?
amazing game
These bosses are so easy to cheese...
Little different compare to the NES. Cool though
