Thank you!! I am in teachers of Tomorrow and they throw you into teaching kind of sink or swim style. I have a strong background in art but I'm struggling with classroom management. Your channel is making me feel better and capable. I am alone as a special in the school. Thank you for helping me.
You are so welcome! I struggled at the start of every year with losing my voice. I made a full video about what helped How NOT to Lose Your Voice as a Teacher th-cam.com/video/FMc5HP6AkgE/w-d-xo.html
It’s from another seller my day in K. I altered it to use in art www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Back-To-School-Classroom-Management-Visuals-Procedure-Visuals-Class-Slides-9652642
I really have enjoyed watching your videos and all the wonderful advice even as a teacher of 10 years. Well, more like eight-ish when you throw in Covid that totally threw everything out the window for two years. My question to you is: I love the seating charts and I wanted to incorporate the numbers for each seat however, teaching kindergarten through six. There's different amounts in all seven of my classes. One of the key things I do is split up the boys and girls for the most part, and have roughly equal amounts of people at every table as much as possible. But if I have all my tables numbered sequentially, and I fill up all of my tables with three but SOME of my classes might have four at a table that throws the sequential number system off. How do I solve that problem? I hope that makes sense. Maybe the numbers wouldn't work but I really wanted to try them. It might be something obvious, but I can't wrap my head around it. Thanks for any help. Hope your school year is going well so far. 🥰
Oh, I should have mentioned that more clearly. The seats themselves are numbered. The students use the number where they sit. We don’t use every seat so we don’t use every number. In many of my classes we don’t use the seats where there backs are to the board. There are 30 labels on my sheets and my biggest classes are 26. On the labels where no one sits I just put the teachers name but not a seat number. We use the extra labels if someone starts over or we get a new student.Managing the Seating: Assigned Seats and Labeling Tables th-cam.com/video/ahWe71CidFs/w-d-xo.html
do you have special ed students? I have Cerebral Palsy and when I was in school (90s/2000s) they wouldn't let me take art after 4th grade, assumably 'cause some of the drawing was hard to keep up with, they never really said why, but I was moved to music class. it's probably easier with little kids but I was curious what lessons a teacher would have if there was a special needs kid? luckily my mom filled my love of painting lol
It hurts my heart to hear that you were not allowed to take art! Thankfully, things have changed. Students all attend art with their peers in my building. We adapt as needed- they might have a special chair, thicker paintbrush handle, less steps in the project, etc. Often there is an extra adult to help meet the students where they are. They follow the projects within our curriculum and participate fully in art making.

Happy to help! That is why I started my channel. I appreciate you reaching out. Thank you so much for watching! 🙂
thank you for this! Your advice to drink water reminded me to set my reminder to go to the bathroom every morning before my first class.🙃
You're so welcome! I have a reminder 5 mins before every class. Sometimes I make a mad dash to the bathroom then😂 Only teachers would understand!!
Thank you so very much! Losing your voice is a super huge problem! Glad you touched on that!!! 🔥
