He'd be a hypocrite then; NES era games frequently had secret level skips. Even the infamous Battletoads, another NES game made by Rare had a few of them.

I only ever discovered two in DKC1, the one in Mine Cart Carnage, and the one in Stop and Go Station! I didn't know there were more!

That might be because the GBA version is different from the SNES one, SNES has 7 secret barrels while GBA has one in all stages

Most warp barrels in the first dkc game on gba are not original,they shouldn’t had to be there.

@@lucidnightingale631 at the very least it gave enemies unique death sounds. The original grunt is iconic but it makes more sense for enemies like claptrap to not go “U G H”
