- Basically, owls prefer to spend alone, but when they spend time with chicks they will become amenable like this.
I will try to stay with him until such time as he feels like that.

This owl is GORGEOUS owl. Love it's markings and plumage. Owls have some of the sharpest beaks & talons as well as some of the strongest grips of all raptors... But this lil'guy is being so incredibly gentle and mindful of his owner so as to not harm him. It's really amazing to see how delicate he is with the man's hand, especially knowing that he could easily shred the dude's hand and leave permanent damage in an instant. This shows extremely high intelligence and sincere affection and admiration from this owl to his human.

One thing I've always loved about these sorts of birds is just how aware they are of their strength. These are birds of prey remember, adapted killing machines. If that owl really wanted to, he could easily bite through that man's finger, but he can just gently nibble to show affection.
animals evolved to conserve strength and only use it for specific tasks. it applies to apex predators just as it does to herbivores and bottom feeders. biting giant animals like us randomly is a complete waste of energy and put it at unnecessary risk. supposing your theory is a total misunderstanding of animal behavior, especially if you think it's as simple as showing affection. there are countless conditions that must be met to see this kind of owl act in this way.

Yeah, tbh people just say things are scary when they really aren’t, sometimes I find their stares quite goofy. Isn’t it the reason black cats are associated with bad luck? I agree they aren’t dangerous but you can’t lie it can be chilling to hear a owl in the night like in cartoons and see it staring at you lol
