I love these general sewing videos because I do a lot of hacking and self drafting. I think it's important to understand why pattern pieces are shaped the way they are, how they fit together, and how to alter them to change the look and fit of your garments even if you are following a pattern.

I really enjoyed your video on refining cuffs, especially the tip about cutting the cuff on the bias. I'll give that a try the next time I make a Melody Dolman.

As usual a great tutorial. You are so good at the small details that make a garment look just so much better and professionally made. Thank you for all your tips.

This was so helpful! I hate the way cuffs don’t ‘fit’ their sleeves holes right, poking out or bunching up. This is fantastic information to have tucked away for future use. Thankyou for explaining this so thoroughly 😊

Thank you so much sharing you expertise. I always learn something from your videos. This video on dolman cuffs is just what I needed. I made a clone of a ready to wear dolman top and had so much trouble with the turn up cuff. Now I understand why. 😁. I'll be making another one of those dolmans but this time the cuff will be a breeze thanks to you.

Thank you Karina for another great video. You are a great teacher. I was wondering if you could do a video on 1/ how to extend short sleeves to long sleeves. 2/ sleeves to a dress or top with no sleeves. Many Thanks and happy sewing.😅

I used the "cut in" edge of an add-on cuff, cut on the bias with a shell top that I was refashioning. Your technique and process worked very well. Thank you.

Hi Karina - your videos always teach me great techniques and give me the confidence I need to keep sewing clothing. I have a fabric question. You do lots of beautiful crepe and chiffon garments. My question is - do you use polyester versions or silk? I notice when I shop online that the polyester chiffons are always more my style in print and color for some reason, but I feel sheepish about using poly versions. So I guess I’m hoping you’ll say you use whichever you find, either silk or poly, whichever you like! Thanks for all the great teaching you do!

I need a tutorial on how to add an only SLIGHTLY flared (bately a bell shaped) KNIT cuff to the end of each long sleeve of a light weight sweater - so that it will extend the cuff by about 3 inches & blend well. I have somewhat of an idea from this video but I've not sewn in years, so I really need a specific tutorial as described above. I hope you can post one. Meanwhile, I will play with making a soft paper pattern; pinning it onto the end of the sleeve to see how it might work & look.

Your request is very specific. I can’t take video topic requests and it’s outlined in my community guidelines. Making a video is a lot of work and I try to keep the topics general so that they will appeal to a large group. I hope you understand why I’ve never offered requests for super specific topics.

Just as a suggestion, use the slash and spread method to add a slight flare to your cuff.
