    So glad I found your video. I have spent so much time trying to line up my porch sign. I have procrastinated doing the reverse side because of lining up issues. You have made it much easier. Thank you so much!

    I am so happy I found this. My cousin has an unused cricut that I can borrow for a day and make this sign for my new house that we moved in today. Any suggestions on where I can find the wood? I am not very familiar with art supplies. I am so sorry if this is a stupid question.

    • @BurtonAvenue
      @BurtonAvenue  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I usually get my wood from Home Depot or Lowes.

    Thank you for your video and all the details. Just wondering if it needs to be sealed with anything?

    • @BurtonAvenue
      @BurtonAvenue  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is an ongoing debate in the vinyl world, some say yes and some say no. The vinyl I used has a 6-year outdoor life,.
      Since the wood was prepped properly (sanded and sealed so it's a nice even surface), I chose not to seal it.

    Many thanks for taking the time to make such a well explained video. Could you apply the same method if making a stencil using the vinyl? I am trying to think it through in my head but maybe you have already done it? thanks

    • @BurtonAvenue
      @BurtonAvenue  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It would be a little different with a stencil. You would draw a rectangle around each letter that is the same size as the width of your sign. Then, you would just match up the straight edges of the rectangles, instead of using registration marks.

    Great video very informative however What happens if I can’t group the letters to be Under 11.5? I’ve tried resizing & I can never seem to get them under 😭

    • @BurtonAvenue
      @BurtonAvenue  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can put a set of registration markers between each letter. Then, just group one letter with one set of registration marks. You can also use a bigger mat and larger piece of vinyl if you can't get it under 11.5"

  • @mom.4life
    @mom.4life ปีที่แล้ว

    Do the registration marks need to be aligned in a certain way?

    • @BurtonAvenue
      @BurtonAvenue  ปีที่แล้ว

      No. They just need to be in the same place on each layer you are cutting.

  • @Lauren-ez2gd

    What kind of vinyl would you suggest to use if it’s not going under a covered porch?

    • @BurtonAvenue
      @BurtonAvenue  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would use Oracal 651. It has a 6 year outdoor life on Black/White and a 4 year outdoor life on colors.
