    I have a behavioral question:
I have two of these at home, and since working from home I spend a lot of time watching them. Anyway, some interesting behavior was seen yesterday. One fish would flip onto their back, roll, and flip into the water. Then the other would do the same on the opposite side of the tank. This went back and forth for about 5 minutes or so. Sometimes they go up to each other like they'll headbutt each other in the middle of the tank, but look like they're going forward and backwards at each other. I'm not sure what to think of this behavior. Do they REALLLLY like each other? Or not? I have a video of it I wish I could share here!

How do they spawn? How can I trigger them to spawn?

Kenny Bowen. Thanks! I have a 20 long down in the basement with a couple fish just hanging out in it. Could easily be opened up at a moment's notice to house a bunch of fry! Thanks for watching!

I have one about 3 inches in with some central american cichlids. I want another one but heard they don't do well with their own kind. What is your opinion on getting another. I have it in a 210 Gallon

It's funny because I was thinking you might be interested! Depending on if/when I have babies I may just send you some! You have quite the setup and plenty of room to raise some of these up! That's the whole reason I decided to get into these guys, to make sure they continue to live on in the hobby since their existence in the wild is so questionable. Also helps that for me personally they are just a super cool looking cichlid!

The Fish Guy yeah we had one before and ended up giving it to one of my regular customers who asked about it every time he was over and regretted it since lol

Very nice. Hopefully they pair off. Breeding fish will really offset expenses for your business

Fishman. /fingerscrossed. From my understanding these guys can be a bit tricky to breed, between that and the fact they are so endangered/extinct in the wild is what drew me to attempt this whole endevor. To try and do what I can in my own little way to make sure this amazing fish doesn't disappear for good!
I can definitely see the potential for revenue breeding fish, especially with more in-demand species. For me it's always been space/time/money issue. My basement isn't large and is very full of all of the families "stuff". I do have a little corner I've chiseled out but it is limited. The initial investment of building a true system is a little prohibitive for me right now as well. I do have some things in the works for the near future though! Thanks for watching!

Very pretty, will the subdominant male get bullied now the others have paired.

Cae Walker It was almost immediate that the aggression started ramping up. The dominant male kept getting distracted chasing him off. Since I recorded this video I've actually taken the other male out and put him in a different tank. Eventually as they start getting closer to an actual spawn I will probably end up taking everybody else out too so they can have some privacy and get down to business! Haha
