Thank you for watching, this video was filmed on a day the park was accessible to the public for an auction. Our vlog from when the park was operating can be found via the following link - th-cam.com/video/jd37R8Ifff0/w-d-xo.html
Theme Park Worldwide . It's just so sad to see it go . I only had went a few times 😢. Think something else should be put there. I'm so glad u got to see how good it was in of of your videos before it closed. 😃btw I've seen most ur videos and think there great
this was my local park , it was sad to see it go.In all fairness i felt they didnt try to keep it going , if prices were reduced i feel it would have been more popular. On bonfire night each year they used a wristband system & cheaper prices which seemed to work well & the park was very busy.Im interested to know what will happen to whats now left there only time will tell i guess
I remember going here multiple times as a kid, I was born in Grimsby right next to Cleethorpes and have since moved away. Such a shame to see this place go yet seeing this video did bring back some happy memories :)
This is really sad... The park had such a bright future and it looked so nice there, and I still don't quite understand why it had to close... It's sad to see it go like that
Pleasure island was my whole childhood. It really makes me tear up seeing all my favourite rides gone. The tinkaboo town and mini mine train were the best I had so much fun there I can’t believe they closed
Thanks for doing this video, it makes us all realise that we have to support are local independent theme parks or we will lose them. What a great job Blackpool pleasure beach and dream world in Margate do to stay in business and keep bringing new rides to us in a very difficult economic climate.
This video makes me sad . I used to holiday here a visit my nana and grandad and now they are no longer with us and pleasure island isn't either , thanks for the footage it was nice to see it
Thanks for filming and making this. It feels such a shame the UK lost yet another charming theme park, like American Adventure, Camelot and others before it. Whilst I sadly never had the opportunity to visit, I was looking to planning a trip there for 2017, however sadly it was too late.
Hey Shawn, why don't you come to Pleasure Island and do a video where you talk about it's history during it's operational years like what you did with the American Adventure?
This has ripped so many childhoods apart, just to think that happened is so so sad, flamingo land is still my local park, I'm still a teen and I can't imagine a place like flamingo land shutting down, its just devastating that it couldn't be saved
i think merlin could have brought the park so they have a nice family park. alton and Thorpe rides are too big and LEGOLAND is to popular therefore family's wont visit due to crowds
I really hope this doesn't happen anymore because for theme park enthusiasts its upsetting for loosing another park I really hope that this doesn't happen to lightwater or flamingo land or Oakwood because we've lost some great parks overtime like Camelot pleasure island and many more up and down the country my favourite ride here was tinker boos sweet adventure because of the soundtrack btw love the vids shaun
Theme park Logan. I hope this doesnt happen to Lightwater Valley too, because they have my fave roller coaster. . The Ultimate. Gonna have to visit that park in 2020.
I love to see abandoned parks and buildings, theres something mysterious and eerie about them. I really want to go to Pripyat, my gf says thats weird, dont know what she's talking about;)
I went to that theme park a few years back, it was great. The best theme park I had ever gone to. Now... I only just found out it’s closed , so sad ;-;
We stayed on the caravan site just next door to the park and we were there many times in its opening season. It cost £6 to enter the park. I remember they had an outdoor cafe and they had amazing chicken nuggets.
the only thing that's slightly comforting is that it looks like quote a few rides have been salvaged, such as the boomerang, the booster and the drop tower
How sad. To many local retired people objected to the noise, which meant the park could not operate after 4.30pm, and could not open any new rides. It needed a big new ride to draw the public in, but didn't have the visitor numbers to pay for any new rides. Such a shame, it could have been a great park.
Can we please hold a remembrance to the terrifying little kid ride near the start? I’m sorry but that scarred me for life, especially the dimly lit village in it too.
This is amazing I live in cleethorpes and it’s so sad to see it like this. It was the first theme park I went to and the first time I went on an inverting coaster. #DiscoverTheMagic
It’s so sad to see theme parks go. Two parks in my local area are gone forever. Parts of one, Fantasy Glades, is to be partially restored but it’s going to be accomodation from what I understand.
The sad music makes it feel emotional, unfortunately I never got to experience Pleasure island in it’s full potential, it’s a shame that many locals lost a park as well as we lost some pretty unique attractions! Hopefully one day we could see a new park or something decent to replace... hopefully not housing... 😞
Frontier Coasters I think maybe he got asked to go because I’ve heard that they’re still animals being looked after by workers there (I don’t know if that is true). Anyone correct me if I’m wrong x
Thank you so much for uploading another amazing video I’m going through a lot recently my cousin committed suicide on Wednesday which was only five years old and it’s nice that you upload these videos to make me more happier thank you so much love you theme park worldwide ❤️
Never been here but still sad to see another theme park derelict. We knock em down , in Florida they just keep building em ! On a lighter note you forgot to put yourself walking off into the sunset 😉
So sad to see :(. I know it was a family park put to always a shame to see it in this state. Want makes it worse however is the rides that have just been left to rot and not given a new lease of life at another park :(. Thanks for sharing this though Shaun
my husband loved one of the rides what is still standing but he says they should not scrap it wish it was is the ramba zamba ride the green and yellow ride with the 12 arms
Gutted because this park was local. But I kept putting of going for bigger parks like alton towers, and i never got to experience this park. I guess it was because people like me this park ended up closing. We should appreciate all theme parks, especially those on our doorstep.
The place where u made your 50,000 TH-cam subscribers has gone so sad 😢 hate seeing theme parks close in the UK or anywhere else in the world for that matter

this was my local park , it was sad to see it go.In all fairness i felt they didnt try to keep it going , if prices were reduced i feel it would have been more popular. On bonfire night each year they used a wristband system & cheaper prices which seemed to work well & the park was very busy.Im interested to know what will happen to whats now left there only time will tell i guess
Do u know if they’ve done anything to it since?
It's still abandoned
@@lukeotter898 yes still abandoned but no more ride there
Its insane that there is a theme park that has just been forgotten, but it looks ready to open back up.
I remember going here multiple times as a kid, I was born in Grimsby right next to Cleethorpes and have since moved away. Such a shame to see this place go yet seeing this video did bring back some happy memories :)
and another one bites the dust 😭😭😥 RIP one of the best parks in the UK
This is one of those "will the last person left in England turn the lights out" moments that haunt us theme park fanatics. Thanks Shawn!!!
This is really sad... The park had such a bright future and it looked so nice there, and I still don't quite understand why it had to close... It's sad to see it go like that
I feel like my childhood has been ripped up into tiny pieces...

Pleasure island was my whole childhood. It really makes me tear up seeing all my favourite rides gone. The tinkaboo town and mini mine train were the best I had so much fun there I can’t believe they closed
I loved coming here! i still miss it and drive past a few times a month.
October 2016 this park closed, loved the boomerang
S WB I loved the tinkerboo water ride my childhood
Had a few good memorable days out here, so sad.
Thanks for doing this video, it makes us all realise that we have to support are local independent theme parks or we will lose them. What a great job Blackpool pleasure beach and dream world in Margate do to stay in business and keep bringing new rides to us in a very difficult economic climate.

It feels such a shame the UK lost yet another charming theme park, like American Adventure, Camelot and others before it.
Whilst I sadly never had the opportunity to visit, I was looking to planning a trip there for 2017, however sadly it was too late.
Went there once. Kinda sad to see it closed down.

Hey Shawn, why don't you come to Pleasure Island and do a video where you talk about it's history during it's operational years like what you did with the American Adventure?

Great to see a different take on the abandoned pleasure island. Seen so many people do a video from there. Great effort.
I went to that theme park a few years back, it was great. The best theme park I had ever gone to. Now... I only just found out it’s closed , so sad ;-;

It was a fun place and it’s hard to believe that this and some other great parks in this country have closed yet Wicksteed is still up and running.
The music made me cry my childhood 😭
I'd never been to Pleasure Island, but I started to get a bit emotional watching this because it feels like we're losing a lot of theme parks...
I was devastated when I first found out about this the hydro max defo my favourite then itd have to be the scary ride forgot what it was called now
We stayed on the caravan site just next door to the park and we were there many times in its opening season. It cost £6 to enter the park. I remember they had an outdoor cafe and they had amazing chicken nuggets.
Its a shame to see the park like this, it still remains like this now such a shame

the only thing that's slightly comforting is that it looks like quote a few rides have been salvaged, such as the boomerang, the booster and the drop tower

If this was ALTON TOWERS I'LL GO TO HEAVEN WITH IT
Sad what a good theme park !
How sad. To many local retired people objected to the noise, which meant the park could not operate after 4.30pm, and could not open any new rides. It needed a big new ride to draw the public in, but didn't have the visitor numbers to pay for any new rides. Such a shame, it could have been a great park.
Thanks for sharing an insight on the park
Is this easy to get in to? On holiday at the park next to it and was going to look today.
I never went, but it's a real shame, because it looks nice.
only every went here twice but was a good park
R.I.P this will always be remembered 😥😫😢
Can we please hold a remembrance to the terrifying little kid ride near the start? I’m sorry but that scarred me for life, especially the dimly lit village in it too.
A place that would echo with laughter only echoes in silence now :(
This is amazing I live in cleethorpes and it’s so sad to see it like this. It was the first theme park I went to and the first time I went on an inverting coaster. #DiscoverTheMagic

so sad to see a park gone its crazy to think this is what could of happened to fantasy island skegness a few years ago
How did you get access to enter the abandoned park? Would you get arrested for trespassing?
Frontier Coasters I think maybe he got asked to go because I’ve heard that they’re still animals being looked after by workers there (I don’t know if that is true). Anyone correct me if I’m wrong x
Frontier Coasters oh I’ve just read the last bit of the description, there was something like an auction so they let him walk round the park
There was an auction for what was left. Parts of the park were accessible on the day of the auction.
As mentioned in the description we visited for the auction day that meant we could gain access to certain areas of the park
Did you get any thing shawn
ITS OK FOR THE FAMILY BECAUSE THERE HAVE FLAMINGO LAND
Very interesting. I’d love to see you do more abandoned ones 🤔
Thank you so much for uploading another amazing video I’m going through a lot recently my cousin committed suicide on Wednesday which was only five years old and it’s nice that you upload these videos to make me more happier thank you so much love you theme park worldwide ❤️

Don't worry that shot will be in the documentary I film in the future ;)
Theme Park Worldwide 👍🏼
Brilliant Vlog 😀😀😀so sad the park is closed and just left to rot ☹️☹️
Got some footage from walking inside the park when I went to pick something up from the auction:( sad to see my local park be vandalised and such
My local park whilst growing up. Sad to see it's demise, but hopefully something worthwhile can be developed in it's place.
Matt Neale it could do with a prmosing company to purchase the land and put a bit more money into the park
So sad to see :(. I know it was a family park put to always a shame to see it in this state. Want makes it worse however is the rides that have just been left to rot and not given a new lease of life at another park :(.
Thanks for sharing this though Shaun
Do you have any footage of the auction from the 21st october?
I never got to go it looked good
I am watching this from the future and I live next to cleethorps I pass it in the car and see things rotting and water slides in peace’s r.i.p 🥺
my husband loved one of the rides what is still standing but he says they should not scrap it wish it was is the ramba zamba ride the green and yellow ride with the 12 arms
Gutted because this park was local. But I kept putting of going for bigger parks like alton towers, and i never got to experience this park. I guess it was because people like me this park ended up closing. We should appreciate all theme parks, especially those on our doorstep.

Shawn, nobody takes this song seriously.
The last time i went, the sign was still up and the sight is just been left to over grow and its looking worse and worse now
I really hope the next park to end up like this isn't going to be lightwater Valley
good vid another theme park graveyard
Oh my god. You came to my home town today? I'M FROM CLEETHORPES! :O
We visited last month to film this
Still though
It's sooooo sad to see Pleasure Island abandent
So I studied the park the remains of an animatronic are at the bottom of the water at Pleasure Island theme park
you should deffo do an abandoned themepark series. i do urbex for photography so obviously safety permitting. Could this be a regular thing?
I remember going here! But tbh you know its bad when your main attraction is a vecona boonerang
Genuinely didn’t know that park had shut.
Are you going to do a documentary on the Camlot Theme Park? These documentarys are great!
I plan to film one next!
