    As a side note: it's important to remember that you do not need to have toxic people in your life no matter what their relationship to you is. Parents, siblings, grandmothers and grandfathers can all be toxic people and you do not need to have them in your life if they are belittling, cruel, manipulative, or the like.

      Alexa Suess I agree with you 100%. Not everybody needs to stay a part of your life. If they're tearing you down and suffocating you, they need to go. This applies to family members as well as acquaintances.

      My parents and siblings are all of those things, but I don't want to push them out of my life. I love them too much. What should I do?

    Don't hold your self hostage to the mistakes of your past. You didn't know then what you know now. When you know better you do better.

    I always skip soft spoken videos however I HAD to watch this. I'm 28 and I now have 4 children and these are all things I will now be passing on to them - especially my eldest who is 8. You are such a beautiful person and I respect you so much. X

    As an "old lady" I loved these comments. I would only add that age 60 I began working out, especially lifting weights. It is critical to remain strong and flexible. Has made a huge difference! It improves your quality of life in every way.

    Thank you for this video : it was a great idea ! What you said really did resonate, especially the "Nobody knows what they're doing" part. I really feel at a loss lately & it's good to remember that, as you said, most people share the feeling. It can be difficult to deal with it on an almost daily basis, but...everything happens for a reason. We have to keep believing in life, ourselves (and God's plan, in my case). xox

    • @SouthernASMRSounds
      @SouthernASMRSounds  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      SongsToTheSirens I truly believe that whatever a person may be struggling with, there are thousands of other people out there who are dealing with the same thing at any given time. Believing that helps me not feel so alone. Like we're all in this together.

    I second all those!!! Love the door 🚪 one because not only do I practice that and have taught my son that but I appreciate it from others!!! It a simple act of kindness!! Also the elderly one, everyone could learn from them !! I enjoy elderly people more than people my own age and have since I was a child lol !! Thanks for taking the time to share these you are so great! ❤️😊

    I really agree with your car opinions, the only thing is sometimes, depending on where you live, it's hard to get a job that you don't need a car to get to. Where I live it's lots of neighborhoods. my parents also wanted me to duel enroll at the college while in highschool, so they had to get me a car so I could drive 30 min to college everyday. However, I pay for everything my car needs, gas, tires, oil, etc, and ended up paying half of my car payments. so while sometimes kids can't buy the car outright because a car is necessary for many jobs, they should definitely pay later on

    Something I've already figured out at 15 is nobody knows fully what they're talking about, not even me, so I Always try to listen to all points of view so I can at least make educated guesses in life.
    While most of the time I don't follow what other people say I always try to listen so at the very least I know that I'm 1 step ahead of another person or I can find better ways.
    Pretty much, I know that I don't know
    This was great advice and it was very entertaining. This was just the video I was looking for right now. Thought provoking but soft. I appreciate this video and you for making it 😁
    And this is a lot of extra details about me but here's another lol
    I completely agree with your point about talking to older folks. I have a hobby of talking to strangers as well as my grand dad, parents, older friends and this one guy who works at a local music store. I've learned so much from them and heard many great stories. Humans are definitely social creatures
