Let's be real, the final battle and ending overshadows everything that happens in Stone Ocean up until that point. Its something that I could never get over even during the entire time Jolyne was in prison. And yet... there was something strangely satisfying about it. I appreciated it more reading Stone Ocean from the beginning to the very end, as I got a chill knowing that something happy, yet sad, was accomplished. You'd think that Jolyne and her crew's efforts were all for nothing, but they succeeded. They'll never know it, and will never have to. It's as Araki-san said: Jolyne's memories are different but her love and feelings are still there. They became eternal. So even if they go by different names, it's still them. Irene, Eldis, Anakiss and Domenico are still the same heroes we journeyed with, and us, the viewers who witnessed it, know that it wasn't for nothing. Emporio knows everything, so he's eventually going to have come clean with the group about everything that happened, including Jotaro. But I digress. Hopefully, Araki-san will explain everything with all the answers, one day.

For those of you wondering, yes, all of them are alive in the Irene-Verse albeit different names for the SO cast. However, iirc everything else still happened from parts 1-5 just minusing Pucci who "never existed" in this universe, thus making everyone's lives better.
The fact that this all could've been prevented if Jotaro killed Pucci & let Jolyne die just goes to show how much he cares for her. He took her over the entire UNIVERSE. And the worst part was that it all pretty much went to waste. Jolyne was still hit by a knife, and Pucci still reset the universe. They did nail this scene though.

First thing that you can note, Jolyne has a good relationtship with jotaro, meaning Dio's heaven plan never took the 3rd step (which includes pucci), since it made him look out for pucci at the very end of Stardust Crusaders. Also, without Pucci's doings, everyone he killed never died, meaning Irene isnt a replcia of Jolyne since she never died, meaning its Jolyne but with another name
Even with the universe collapsing and a new one created, Joseph still outwitted it all! Also not sure why folks are saying Pucci is gone in the new universe. Nothing indicates (visually or verbally) that there isn't an alternate universe Pucci free from the influence of Dio. To those asking, since everyone came back after the 2nd reset when Pucci died, this means that Jotaro came back too. The only Parts that were changed by the 2nd reset, where Pucci doesn't exist, is Part 6, with the main cast having better lives- sorry FF. Therefore going off this, Jotaro is still alive, he just has different memories regarding Jolyne-now-Irene.

To those asking, since everyone came back after the 2nd reset when Pucci died, this means that Jotaro came back too.
The only Parts that were changed by the 2nd reset, where Pucci doesn't exist, is Part 6, with the main cast having better lives- sorry FF. Therefore going off this, Jotaro is still alive, he just has different memories regarding Jolyne-now-Irene.

I think it was written in the manga that only the ones who are unaffected by time acceleration are God and technically everyone who died, so basically the joestars are dead but thier souls are in heaven (I think 💀)

@@Data1L0ss The dead characters were replaced in the new universe and were given the same souls as the originals , save for memories of Pucci and what he did, as Araki confirmed. It's you who doesn't understand the story well enough.
@@dyingscarlet literally pucci saying to emporio that even thier souls ceased to exist. The third universe is a even more complex one that the first two, thier souls are above, if not actually existing at all, go back and watch the first part of the last episode and pay attention to details.
