I love the fact that Aaliyah mentions being in love with the "dark side" . We _all_ have that side of ourselves that we feel we need to hide, that side that revels in things we dare not reveal. I have one major gripe about this film, though. It greatly simplified Akasha's motives in the novel. In the book, throughout the almost six thousand years of her being a "living statue", Akasha had, through the Mind Gift (i.e. telepathy) experienced life through the minds of countless mortals and immortals across the globe. Such was her incredible power. She witnessed the abuse, wars and unhappiness caused by men, and as such, when she "awakened", her plan was to kill most of the human male population in an effort to put an end to the misery that had engulfed the world for millennia. How you interpret that position is entirely subjective - that's the beauty of Akasha's arguments as well the very grounded counter arguments of the vampires who defied her. Granted, Akasha wanted to rule over the Earth as the "Queen of Heaven", and be worshipped as such, so her royal mindset was definitely not lost during the almost six thousand years she remained dormant. I wish they had explored that more in the film. Akasha did a beautiful job as the film's version of Akasha, though.

She showed so much potential as an actress.
So sad that she died. But at least this film made her immortal. 🖤
It's a pity women like her dont exist in the real world, i would serve such a queen in both life and death
R.I.P Aaliyah my gorgeous queen of the damned
Aaliyah will forever be my dream girl. No other girl competes with her.
Shed eat you before you could even say pot roast
tastetheway youbleed That makes absolutely no sense.
+Potato Chip Jones try metaphor, its being used alot nowadays in the modern world, awww poor little potato chip has been living under a rock, no wonder youre still in love with aaliyah
tastetheway youbleed The fact that you can't even explain the metaphor you just used is hilarious. Fucking imbecile.
Omg I loved her in Queen Of The Damed! I remember going to the movies when it came out.
She had the best walk ever she killed that roll
I really liked this movie!! I was in Junior HS and went to see it my friends. Even now its still good the actors were on point 👌🏼 and Aaliyah looks beautiful
i just realised if lauren london was slimmer she could really play aaliyah. they both have that smile and those dimples
the aaliyah movie would have been way better then
Aaliyah dont have dimples what u watching
Marquis Bryant true ....they both have gorgeous smiles , even though Lauren's dimples are mad deep . Aaliyah's are a bit more subtle
shawna winfield yes she does lol
G G i see it now she have small ones lmao. They look like twins hell nah im leaving thats scary...
They shot this scene in Cambodia ancient temples name Ta Prom and Angelina Jolie movie's tome raiders too

I swear if Aaliyah was alive she should have been cat woman than that stupid Halle Berry tired behind!
What !!? no stop it
No no no, nope.
Halle's acting is hit and miss. Hated her as Catwoman, loved her as Storm.
Aaliyah would have not chose to do that horrible script
Hold up, Halle Berry is not stupid and or a stupid choice.
most people don't know she died before finishing this movie. She was supposed to have more scene. The end was actually supposed to be the middle. I am so upset she didn't to finished the movie and watch it. I wish life allow her at least to enjoy watching her project before taking her away. RIP baby girl. You are forever missed.
FYI Grace Jones (Vamp) and Aaliyah (QotD) definitely play the best vampire queens ever...
The film may not have done well but you can tell she was truly headed for great things. RIP
She was so pretty and her voice is so soothing. It’s soft but with confidence and charisma
Awww... We miss you baby girl. You were so gorgeous and talented.
She was so beautiful 😍 RIP 🙏🕯
Cant believe she was in my hometown filming the movie back in 1999/2000. I was like literally 15min walk from the film set and my house at the time.
Some scenes filmed in a biscuit factory near me, melbourne australia.
She did amazing job on this movie and everything she's done exactly..😘😘💕♥️
She had ancient sexuality, real beauty, and that movement😮❤
Love this movie so much ...when I was 2 I would ask my mom if we could watch " come out come out wherever you are" and she would put it on and I'd get too into it. Still love it to this day !!!! Aaliyah was an amazing actress.
Miss you its been 13 years since she's left us I was in high school hurt my heart Rest In Peace my queen Aaliyah 1979-2001

2:05 that entrance was everything!!!💜💜💜💜💜
She was and is perfect.
love this movie so much I get a urge to watch it ever few years. her character is so perfect
That thumbnail... 😮😮😮 I thought it was Sam Reid's Lestat with what the show is going with for Akasha's look for season 3 (based on Aaliyah's) in a preview.
Aaliyah is a very beautiful lady. Rip.
I'm glad they interviewed Rashad. Didn't he do some voice work on the movie? Like, to get the effected Akasha voice, didn't he do that because Aaliyah didn't get to do it?
Yes, he did. :-)
My God, she is absolutely gorgeous. Articulate, stunningly beautiful... you get such an elegant vibe off of her.
Beautiful, talented music artist, dancer & AWSOME Actress!!!!😍😘🔥🔥🔥All the things she loved. You are truly amazing & dearly missed!😓😓😇👑
The behind scenes should've been extended scene give everyone extra screen and dialogue in movie along deleted scenes and 2:05 intro was perfect than movie and 5:12 badass dialogue of Akasha and Maharet begging for jessie spare life was perfect close to material even certain dialogue "I know you lestat" and "I've had enough of this great family". Also 2:44 when she ask her ancient children "I want to hear it everyone of you should've kept it and the fact this had more dialogue and emotional moments , damn they drop the ball
