@@sonya.danielle literally and God has been teaching me humility and to walk in humility it’s been a bit hard but this verse reminds me of what’s precious to God🦋
I liked that Aaliyah seemed to have a quiet confidence. It was balanced from what I saw. That balance is ideal imo. Not too overstated but not understated either.
Aaliyah was a tomboy but her personality was very feminine and mysterious and that's what makes people especially men interested in a woman it also helps that she was gorgeous too! When she passed I remember it very well and it's amazing how her legacy still lives on ❤
She really never tried to be anyone else by herself, she wasn’t in competition with anyone but herself. And she was quite mysterious towards the public. She was confident enough to be private and not give too much away. A lot of her looks maybe considered simple or popular at the time, but they only became trendy when she wore it because she always wore what she was comfortable with. She didn’t have to do the most to have sex appeal which is why she wore everything with confidence. You can tell her style was a real expression of her, not her trying to be someone else.
To me personally the best confidence is the type that Aaliyah had like quiet, mysterious, cool, but confident and self assured. Idk just something about it! I enjoyed your video friend ❤
quiet confidence is so real. just the other day, i had a girl literally try to insult me. it was giving pick me. i just met her, and it was such a let down. she wouldn't talk to me in conversation, because she was too focused on the guy who was with us. she doesn't ask me questions when we talk in a group. she tries to undermine me as best she can. for her sake, and for mine, i choose to let her see the error of her ways. i want her to realize it, and then, when the time is right, confront her confidently and purely. she is not being very demure and mindful 😭 it upsets me the most when many women like this try to put down other women. i thought this girlw as beautiful. i looked up to her, and even took inspiration from her. but there is darkness in her. a darkness that needs to see the light.
This was really good! You should continue this series. This is helping me. Aaliyah was really good in being kind but having wisdom in the public eyes of everyone. I look up to her in that area.
I will! i genuinely enjoyed making this video & it’s something i haven’t felt for a little while now 🥲 & i agree she had such grace about her and she was wise beyond her years. thank you for watching 🩷
girllll, lemme take notes. I know I have the potential to be so, however insecurity sometimes creeps in uggghhh. This was a great video man. Also, I love your style ; )
She was one of my favorite female artists still to this day❤️ she seemed so down to earth , sweet and humble but we were very robbed of what she would’ve done if she’s hadn’t passed
I love how gracious she was about everything. It's a type of gratitude that is so rare, too. I watched one interview where she talked about how she loves what she does and even if it gets hard on some days, she realizes that she is living her dream. She is grateful always because sulking about it or not seeing whatever she has to do through would be ungrateful of her. Much like you I was born a little later lol but her energy is something that one doesn't need to know or see her personally to feel. She had a way about her that I had been trying to figure out and this video made me realize that it was her quiet confidence. Oh and 4 page letter and I Care 4 You are amazing honestly her whole discography lmao.
this was a sweet video, u made a lot of great points that totally clicked for me on why I always loved aaliyah so much. i used to work with a girl who would pick on me a lot, everyone noticed it. One day she admitted to me that it really gets under her skin how "laid back" i am, like nothing bothers me, so she'd try to ragebait me, just like you said in this video lol! definitely gotta watch out for that but if you're really earnestly self-assured it won't phase you. "She knows she's a that girl but she doesn't need to make you feel like you're not that girl for her to know she's that girl" you nailed it with that statement!
I also was too young to have met Aaliyah and her music during her active time but was heavily influenced by my parents (more my mothers) music taste to the point where I kinda grew up with her music. Been playing her discogrophy on repeat ever since. Can't imagine how far she would've come if she hadn't passed away, she truely was a pure soul and from what I've seen in interview very much down to earth. Fav track is so hard to choose but some top five runners (not in order) would be: More than a woman, At your best (You Are Love), Back & Forth, One In A Million and Try Again
I heard her voice at the beginning of the video and immediately though of MJ and i appreciate confidence being quiet and i think that applies to our life as chtistian women because growing up in chruch as girls whenever they wanna shut u up theyll whip out 1 peter 3 and say women should be meek and quiet but being meek isn't being weak and easily imposed on. being meek is strength under control and being quiet isnt being silent its a calm stillness within yourself and inner peace. Not taking ish from people and being silent. Confidence isnt loud because it doesn't need to be Ego is loud because its value is in being seen and wanting people to think you're confident even though you only like youself when you have their attention. Anyways tysm for this videooo i loved itttt AND I SEE THE BANGS HAVE MADE A COMEBACKKK and the og pfp is here toooo. Luv u bookieeee💗
