I have been totally done with the NFL since they fined D'Angelo Williams (playing with the Steelers) for having his moms' and aunts' names IN PINK during cancer awareness in his eye black. They died of cancer and he was honoring their memory. But the NFL said it was not sanctioned and he was calling attention to himself and not the league.
@Cuddlebunchesofoats It's not explicitly a rule, but during game play only 3 of the 7 refs are allowed on the field during active plays to insure there is no interference with game play.
@@DesignRhythm Because 2 refs threw flags at the same time. If only 1 player isn't set, it's a false start. If 2 or more players are not set, it's an illegal shift on a dead clock. Refs don't blow the whistle BECAUSE of situations just like this. And he DIDN'T blow the play dead. No whistle or signal is heard or seen until Bolton recovered the ball. I had to look all this up, it's in my detailed post above. They got it right. QB is stepping forward when the ball is snapped. The TE is waving his arms to get the WR off the line, and the WR is moving to the TE's instructions as the ball is snapped. That's 3 players moving simultaneously when the ball is snapped. Illegal shift is the correct call. I have never seen it, and probably won't ever see it again. But that's the kind of "bad luck" 2-10 teams seem to make for themselves. The reality is, the Arrowhead fans won this game. The decibel level caused the communications issues that led to all of this.
Before had to lose to.brady first for a better story line and when playoffs start he'll be on fore amd so will the refs and 3 in a row never been done GOATED afterwards
Sorry, the refs missed a Raider facemasking a chief ( I think it was Mahomes, but maybe there were 2). Chiefs not getting all the calls - that's just crybaby.
GB fan here…that ph*cking Tuck rule was, imo, the most asinine interpretation of all time in the NFL! Such a stupid flag n to this day, makes me see red! I don’t care which player was wronged…it was a call of travesty that it defies common sense! Ph*ck Brady, ph*ck feckless Gadel(sp?) n ph*ck nfl hierarchy! They are ruining the game! Check out that infamous playoff between Seattle n SF 10yrs ago when the refs made over a dozen wrong calls! It was terrible. RBs got tackled n refs placed the ball 2yrds further ahead or backwards depending upon which team was favored (SF) by the refs that game! Just disgusting…the NBA has nothing on the NFL re lame refs!
I think that the raiders should've advanced then, and the colts too when they caught NE cheating with the footballs, any other team would've been sent home,NFL helped NE then and KC now

Or the last game in Oakland when Carr slid inbounds and they ruled him out which saved Jax a timeout. Then they flagged Raiders for delay of game. They could’ve run the clock out of it was called correctly. Instead they lost
That was funny. Should have been a first down, but I remind you that the Raiders also cause the most rule changes with their creativity, the coward fumbles out of bounds thanks to Snake, and David Casper, Jack Tatum taking people's heads off, but here we are fourth years later talking about if it was a false start or Illegal shift.
I've always referred to that as Paper Gate! That wasn't a card though. It was literally a folded sheet of paper that bent outward on both sides which helped award the Cowboys a false first down.
Us Raider fans aren't just dreaming-there's a long history that makes the skepticism understandable. The Al Davis lawsuit and the fallout from it left a mark on the league's relationship with the Raiders. While not every call is biased, it's hard to ignore the patterns over the years that fuel the perception. And now, after what everyone saw on Black Friday, it feels like the rest of the league is finally starting to notice what we’ve been talking about.
Watching this live i heard the whistle and thought it was dead. I was completely shocked when they gave the ball to the Chiefs. The NFL has to adopt full time refs. These things are just completely unacceptable.
He'll mahomes was even questioning the call !!!! He come off the field yelling " what the he'll was that , what's going on " !! I know because I was benchside for this game !!!!
lol wwe fake football league. the only people tho think it's real are either chief bandwagoners or people who are extremely emotionally invested and think they're on a team LOL
You need to read the rule book! The refs got it right. The clock was not running, so by rule it is an illegal shift, not illegal procedure. The side judge did not blow his whistle to stop the play.
The cheating refs are not against the Raiders, they are pro Chiefs. The Bengals are also well aware of and victims of Chiefs friendly calls that let them have win a game they should have lost.
I'm a Raiders fan and I think people are blaming the wrong people. It's the Raiders not the officials. There was no one moving before the snap and the false start signal is also the same as illegal formation (a live ball foul) which would be the case if Aiden is correct about the WRs not being set on the line of scrimmage. People keep saying that the ref called flase start, yet no one showed evidence of there being a false start, only an illegal formation or an illegal shift, both making the fumble live. Issue is that our coach should have took it down to 3 seconds and kicked the 49 yarder.
In a sense you’re right, usually. But also wrong, because even if he did do that, the kicker missed 3 FGA already. I highly doubt if he had run the clock off and attempted the “49 yarder” you wouldn’t ask yourself “why not try to get closer? He’s already missed 3 today?” And let’s say he did miss the 49 yarder. You wouldn’t be pissed that they didn’t even TRY to get closer after 3 missed already? In the moment, I was excited that AOC was able to even get in FG range, and in the moment knowing we had no timeouts, even I was telling myself, “get closer get closer get closer.” Coaching is difficult and with the emotions of the ups and downs, that is a tough call to try to get closer or just try to kick a long game winner, after factoring in everything from the previous 4 QTRS.
@@youngdrudown kicker missed all FGs 55 yards or deeper. First one was dead center but short. That makes the issue leg strength, not accuracy. Kicker has made 90% of FGs this season inside of 50, I like those odds.
@@chrismorrison9140 it's illegal shift because TE and WRs were moving. I seen no lineman moving in any shots except the right guard giving the center the tap to snap, which is legal.
@@lc5786 yeah I like those odds too. Hell I would’ve had faith in Carlson from 50+ again if we had no other choice, he’s money for us. But when you factor in “icing the kicker” and him possibly getting in his own head after kicking the ground the missed kick prior, why make a harder kick? If a kicker had 100% accuracy his whole career and was a guaranteed 3 points every time, teams are still going to try to score touchdowns. Because why make things harder? I just think it came down to making a kick easier rather than what his range or stats were. Even if it was Janikowski, I would want the ball closer every time every day.
About $35 BILLION will be wagered on NFL games this year. With that kind of money being bet - about $2 billion a week - you can be sure that sometimes a really bad call is just an official earning an big under the table payday that is tax free to boot. Ditto for a star who plays a bad game - it happens and, with gambling, sometimes it's NOT just an off-day resulting a lousy game, but a lousy game that has been bought and paid for. There used to be major soccer leagues in Asia, but when gambling came into the game, it destroyed its integrity, and it looks like the NFL is headed down the same path...
Raiders fan for 50 plus years. Every team in the league besides the Chiefs must be aware that in a close game, the Chiefs are getting every single call and the other team is getting none. Zero. Zilch.
I guess Reid getting flagged for a legal hit in the end zone didn't happen. I guess McDuffie getting flagged for DPI when the receiver ran into him and he plays the ball didn't happen. Get over yourself.
Lol😂😂😂 the post-game interview the QB said, I clapped to get the guys lined up, but it also is for the center to snap the ball, I wasn't looking, … Raider fans: it's the Chiefs fault
They make up penalties as the game goes on. Remember when they pulled that index card to measure a raiders first down. Smh... Never happened prior to that and definitely never happened years after it.
What else is new? Raiders fan since they beat the eagles in the Superbowl. It has gotten to the point where I don't watch the games anymore. I just google search the scores and if they win then I'll watch the highlights. Yeah, the NFL can tuck THESE!
The fact that people are getting upset because a ref fucked up and the other refs didn’t allow them to screw the chiefs is absolutely ludicrous. The correct call was made nobody stopped played before the ball was recovered. Stop it. Just stop
@@badback007 So you're seriously arguing that the game is being rigged by the LIVE betting lines!?🤦♂️🤣 You do realize the amount of coordination that would take... right?
There was no need to dive into a pile bc There was no pile. There was a clear recovery by the Chiefs. The reds huddled for over a minute to sort through what each of them saw. The Raiders weren't set when the ball was snapped, but it was snapped. The bigger issue is the Raiders' fault as well. They lollygagged in the huddle without any time out and a running clock. They took the platform down to 10 before they even got to th line. That's why they rushed to the line and made a mistake. The NFL explained the play was a live ball, illegal shift penalty, not a false start. The official at the top of the screen was wrong. Further, even in a world where that official declares the play to be dead, in the NFL, if there is a CLEAR RECOVERY OF A FUMBLE, the recovery is awarded. The tumble was immediate. The recovery was immediate. KC ball. Period.
I believe the rules state that if the clock is running you can have a deadbolt foul. You cannot have a deadbolt foul if clock is stopped. The clock was stopped because Raiders qb threw the ball into the ground the previous play. Therefore there cannot be a deadbolt call by the ref.
@colleenc9286 Whistle was not blown until after the fumble was recovered. Watch the play with the sound on high. Watch the play frame by frame. You might learn something.
@@JoshBeards It doesn't matter if the whistle blew, the ref across the field began waving his arms over his head 1 second after the snap ending any opportunity of a play happening.
He's "Lolly-gagging" because Bolton is standing there with the ball in his hands. It was a clear and uncontested recovery of the Football by Bolton... there was no Pile to sift through.
From the NFL: "Had the clock been running at the snap, then by rule an illegal shift would convert to a false start," a league spokesperson said. "Since the clock was stopped (spike on the 2nd down play), an illegal shift is a live ball foul." And there you have it folks. There is no boogey-man
To be a false start the players must all be set, then one or more players moves early. The Raiders players were never set, so its illegal motion, which isnt a dead ball foul. The confusion is that the side judge incorrectly signaled false start. After officials conferred, it was correctly changed to illegal motion. It may not have been the call the Raiders wanted, but it was the correct call according to NFL rules.. Now the fumble part, thats on the Raiders QB for not paying attention. Which he even admitted to.
None of that matters. What matters is the ref stopped the play. This shit happens to the Raiders a lot. Wild card game against Cincinnati in 2022, Joe Burrow is running in the direction of being out of bounds, right before he steps out, the ref blows the whistle and Burrow throws a pass for a touchdown. The touchdown should not have stood because of the inadvertent whistle, but they let it count anyways. You can even see on film the DB stopped pursuing because of the whistle which allowed the receiver to catch it. Then, go back to the last game in Oakland, we needed a first down to seal up the game, but we wanted to keep the clock running to keep the Jags from having time to do anything. Derek Carr started his slide completely inbounds. As the rule states, the play ends when the QB starts his slide. Carr slid out of bounds, so the refs rule that he went out of bounds, which stopped the clock, and gave the Jags enough time to win. The call to stop the clock was an egregious call that compromises player safety.
It was "illegal shift" not motion. Still not a dead ball foul, but even when flags are picked up, whistles blown by officials are still enforced over all. I've seen them throw flags for late hits after accidental whistles and the rules expert later explained that players are specifically instructed to go by the WHISTLE over everything to protect the players. Penalty flags are then enforced or if they realize there was no penalty, their way of saying "oops, our bad" is that they instruct the teams to simply replay the down and they'd reset the game clock and instruct the time keeper to start the timer at the snap.
Football 101: What matters is that the whistle was blown and the play was declared dead. Doesn’t matter if they were wrong about a false start or illegal shift. Nothing after a dead play whistle actually happens as far as the game is concerned. That’s the problem here - the play was blown dead (right or wrong) but the result of that dead play was allowed to actually stand! Remember, nothing after the whistle on a dead ball play actually happens. The ref blew it dead over a false start (again, right or wrong) but then the umpire allowed the play to play out. An illegal shift is a live ball foul which means a play can continue and the penalty can be accepted or declined at the end of the play, allowing whatever happens to play out…like a fumble. But this was NOT an illegal shift call, it was a false start call. Everyone is in an uproar because it was inexplicably changed to an illegal shift after BEING BLOWN DEAD, thus ensuring victory for the Chiefs.
totaly agree with everything you say and what makes it worse is that all turnovers are supposed to be reviewed so even after review they left it stand.
I've been a Raiders fan for more than 50 years and in all those years, I cannot remember one single game where the Raiders were the beneficiary of a call like this one where a bad ref call ended the game, gifting the game to the Raiders. It seems like every year or two there's a terrible call like this one against the Raiders but never in our favor. Sure the Raiders get breaks on bad calls, just not ones where the other team cannot come back from it. This video is evidence of the collusion against the Raiders. I don't know the rules like you do but assuming you are correct, I'm also assuming that the refs would know this rule since it is apparently drilled into them every chance the NFL gets. And yet, the biggest moment of the biggest game of the year for the Raiders, the referees all of a sudden forgot referreeing 101? I don't buy that. This was intentional. It had to be.
Sorry but as a Raiders fan myself I can remember a game years ago against KC where the Raiders were basically given the game. A Thursday night game in which Carr and the offense was given upwards of 6-8 chances to run 1 play. They called a penalty or stopped play for a number of reasons but no matter what they called it was to the benefit of the Raiders allowing them to run another play. It was utterly ridiculous and was totally in favor of the Raiders. This victim mentality is directed at the wrong people. As Raider fans were much bigger victims to Raiders ownership than referees. If Raiders ownership could put together a decent program then we wouldn’t be looking at everything else to blame as to why we are horrible for decades on end. Remember the league hated Al not Mark, Mark is just a puppet that goes along with whatever the NFL says which is exactly what they want. The NFL doesn’t try and screw the Raiders over any other team. Why would they? They don’t have to as the team is legit the worst in the league over the last 20+ years. No reason for the NFL to step in when they can’t even get out of their own way.
@@michaeltracy2725 Yeah. I remember that game. It was 4 chances including the original one and the Chiefs were in fact holding the Raiders receivers in the endzone, figuring one of these times they'll get away with it and the Raiders won't complete a pass on that one. As to why, you might be too young to remember what Al did to his business "partners." Next you'll tell me Pete Rozelle didn't quash the Raiders bid to aquire John Elway from the Colts for THREE first round picks plus other compensation. Rozelle ordered the Colts to trade him to the Broncos to permanently screw the Raiders. No. As long as a Davis owns the Raiders, they'll never get a break from the NFL.
Re-read the rule book less than 2 min if the clock is stop (killed by the raiders) can not be a false start becomes an illegal shift one ref screwed up just like the raiders screwed up by even running a play kick the ball. At no point can hear that whisle there is 15 seconds left in arrowhead with the game on the line no one can hear they can only feel the sound. Last everyone of the refs can see who had the ball they didn't need to run in. The chiefs are used to these situations because we lost to something like this and we learnd other teams need to learn the lessons.
Man, people need to have some objectivity. I agree, the refs were bad. Let's not forget, at the end of the 1st half. They blew a play dead, causing a 10 second runoff against the Chiefs. Besides, it wasn't a false start. The receivers were never set when the ball was hiked. Causing it to be an illegal shift(an unbalanced line, because no reciever on line of scrimmage). They only blow that dead if it's a running clock. It wasn't, because of the ball spike on the previous play per the NFL. That's the rule. Don't blame the refs for poor execution of the players.
So whether or not the players are “executing” the refs do not need to be held accountable for anything? Yeah okay that makes sense. So if a guy gets punched in the face and the refs don’t see it, no one is to blame right, because thats what the players executed. Yeah, real objective logic there bud.
That was a new rule implemented this year. They even talked about it during the game so the 10 second runoff was legit, and it wasn’t dramatically affecting the game. They seem to sprinkle a little penalties in against the Chiefs just so it looks fair.
@@JEYA-nm4jl the runoff was the rule, but the call was bad. They blew the play dead inadvertently. By rule, an offensive penalty in the last two minutes. Is an automatic 10 second runoff. Even if the call was bad.
@@youngdrudown when did I say the refs shouldn't be held accountable? I literally said they were bad. The problem is, that wasn't a bad call. Now the punt by the raiders in the first half. Where a penalty was called against #53 for the Raiders. But enforced against the Chiefs, that doesn't have a #53. Was just embarrassing. They had to re-kick during the commercial break Or better yet, the two minute drive, by the Chiefs. That almost stalled because a penalty was called inadvertently. The flag was picked up, but by rule it's a 10 second runoff.
false start is not a player safety issue. False start is a dead ball foul, meaning the play has not yet started. An offensive player simply flinching is not a safety issue, and even if they started downfield the defenders are ready, just waiting for that first hint of movement so They can charge. Defensive Off-sides IS a player safety issue, because the offense has to be set and not moving, making them vulnerable to a free hit. So the whistle is blown on contact with an opponent or with a free unblocked charge at the QB.
The players were not set…making the false start a non issue…players were still moving making it illegal shift…and the Q B was looking at the Chiefs when 66 tapped 58 to snap the ball…
Well done. What you didn’t mention is that most players responded to the dead ball and didn’t pursue the “fumble.” Had all 22 players went for the “fumble” who knows what the outcome would have been?
The more evil a nation becomes, everything follows suit. I told my friends long before the last two seasons began, that the Chiefs were pre-selected to win the Super Bowl. They were the politically correct team, and the refs made it happen! Games are easily decided by bad calls, and non calls. Especially in the playoffs when teams are nearly equally talented.
It’s my understanding that the whistle doesn’t end the play. The play ends for whatever reason decided by the official(s) and whistles are then blown to tell the players that the play is over.
@Justaduck-u3o it didn't end the play in the playoff game between Bengals and raiders a few years back when there was an inadvertent whistle near the end of the first half and the Bengals got a TD on the play
This was the worst explanation I’ve seen on TH-cam. The raiders receiver at the top of the screen was lined up in the neutral zone, thus the play does not have to be ruled dead. The center and O’Connell screwed up big time as the Chiefs recovered the fumbled “backwards pass”.
You are totally right except for the insult. I agree that was a live ball. We could not hear the whistle until after it was recovered by the Chief's. I think the bias seen by the OP is obvious, but we can point that out by attacking their actions, and not them. "you have problems" is an assertion directed at the person, not their actions. We can do better than that in the Kingdom!
Again, the whistle doesn’t determine the end of a play. The play ends for whatever reason then officials will whistle to let the players know that the play is over.
@@KarlH1980 I did not mean to say YOU have problems. what I meant to say is the officiating of a game has problems if you start calling a play "dead" on replay because "ref left his position". No insult, trying to illustrate a "ref leaving his position" is NOT significant nor can it be especially once the refs confer to sort out
IMHO this NFL season has been one of the worst I can remember in terms of officiating. One of my pet peeves is not calling obvious pass interference. It has seemed to happen in almost every game Iv'e watch this season. I'm not talking about questionable PI, I am talking about blatant PI.
You ignore the fact that the wide receiver was moving which is a penalty and which is not normally negated. The ball was snapped too early - no reason to blow it dead. It was reviewed by the NFL office and confirmed - not a player safety issue.
The NFL is now giving the Chiefs the same treatment they gave every Tom Brady team for 20 years. Every possible advantage, never the victim of any controversial call. But what eventually occurred with “The Brady Show” is that people got tired of that same plot line and Super Bowl story line. So Super Bowl RATINGS started to level off. That’s huge to the NFL script writers. I for one, stopped watching super bowls featuring Brady because the officiating was so cheesy to boost his teams into the playoffs. I guarantee is they write the Chiefs into this season’s “Finale episode” I will once again go to the movies etc instead of watching. It was funny seeing how packed the movie theater was during the Tampa Bay / Chiefs Super Bowl. I wasn’t the only person who had reached that level of disinterest in the fakery.
Bullshit!! The Patriots knocked the shit out of everybody for years n years. Refs in love with Tommy Boy? Absolutely!! Didn’t matter much with the Brady rules since the Pats blew everyone out!! I AM NOT A PATRIOTS FAN btw
I grew near Boston. I can call BS even when it adversely affects my team. My personal integrity is worth more than the fortunes of some recreational organization. Belechek was a dirty player. I did not like his style. But he did put together some impressive teams with Brady leading the charge. I've lived in KC for many decades. Mahomes and Reid are great for the community and they are great to the community. I cannot believe that either of them would allow their personal integrity to be tarnished by being involved in unscrupulous acts like rigging games. Finally, do you know many NFL players? I have met many. Most are loud & arrogant AF. Many are dumb. There is no way that the NFL could conspire to throw games like this and have these guys keep it a secret.
@@admiralgree3873 Before Mahomes, I watched a Raven's lineman hold a Chief's rusher with both hands clasped on the shoulders pads & moving the rusher right to left. Ref was 10 feet away and did not throw a flag. That is just one example of how refs can miss things.
@@KarlH1980 they control the outcome with their officiating. Like calling an illegal shift instead of illegal motion. Or not calling an obvious targeting on a pivotal play in the Georgia - Georgia tech game.
Actually this guy’s analysis is really bad because he assumes the refs blew the whistle for player safely reasons when that wasn’t the case at all. The whistle was for a false start. But by rule, with the clock stopped with less than 2 minutes to go, it’s a live ball foul. The Raiders fumbled and the Chiefs recovered. The call was CORRECT!!!! Go read Kirk Herbstreet’s comments on it. He knows way more than the bozo who made this video. Also, don’t believe every video you watch on TH-cam. Because this one was very wrong.
In other news... the non-butthurt analysts ALL say that the officials made the right call, ACCORDING TO NFL RULES. And anyone here pretending to be outraged by Chiefs getting perferential treatment should just shut up and look at the penalty discrepancies in their games. Case closed.
I’ve got a novel idea: How about if the Raiders field goal kicker makes just one out of his three missed field goal attempts? Maybe that’ll stop the crying.
Nothing that happens after the whistle is blown should count. But the whistle wasn't blown until the Chiefs had recovered the ball. So all that matters was whether it was a false start or an illegal shift. According to the statement issued by the NFL, it was indeed an illegal shift.
Based on your first screen shot, the Raiders were in a legal formation at the snap. There was no illegal shirt or false start as the snap was a legal snap. There should have been no flags thrown due to a missed snap count. There was no penalty, as the center was the first to move when he snapped the ball. It was a clear fumble and the Chiefs recovered. The play should stand as the Raiders blew the snap and that's all there is to it. Just because it looked wrong, doesn't mean it was wrong.
But a whistle stops the play. What you are saying is true if there is no whistle, but there was a whistle...and then they huddled and changed the call.
You're trying to have the blown dead play officiating error overlooked because it benefitted the Chumps, again! This video is about what truly happened, not your bias.
The NFL isn't going to address this because from the NFL's perspective, there's nothing to address. The refs' jobs aren't to officiate the game fairly. The refs' jobs are to control the game and make sure the correct team wins. There's too much money involved in the game now to leave anything to chance. The NFL may have once been a real competition, but it's not a real competition anymore. It's legally classified as sports entertainment, the same as the WWE. The NFL is concerned about two things over everything else: money and ratings. The NFL is not concerned with the spirit of real competition. And that's why refs are never held accountable for all the bad calls they make, because the bad calls control the games and outcomes. And that's also why the NFL never allows players or coaches to complain about the officiating. Even announcers are walking a fine line when they disagree with a call. Notice how, during games, we'll sometimes see a "head official" in the league office who "corrects" the announcers after a clearly bad call. That's the NFL controlling the situation. Don't get me wrong. I'm not hating on the NFL or telling anyone not to watch the NFL anymore. I still watch games every Sunday. I still follow my team. I still talk about it as if it's a real competition, like I talk about WWE as if it's real. But I do see and understand that the NFL is not real competition. We're watching the games to see the athletes perform. That's it. The NFL already knows which teams will be in the Super Bowl in February and which team will win. The story has already been scripted.
In your third pic the play is over because Bolton is standing up celebrating and he is the one who recovered the ball. Plus if you watch it there is no whistle till after the fumble and recovery. Might be the wrong call, but your reasoning is wrong.
It's actually not the wrong call because an illegal shift is only a dead ball foul IF the clock is running, not if the clock is stopped. It's just the rule, like it or not. The refs messed up in this game but nobody is talking bout how they ran 10 seconds off the clock due to an officials mistake...
Clock was stopped - it is a live ball on a false start penalty/ illegal shift…if clock was not running it would be a dead ball or essentially re-play the down.--But I see where everyone, including the other judges make that assumption, they were wrong, but it was the right call…to bad they do not have a “Oh we made a mistake in officiating “ call…
It is very interesting that those who say the refs are helping the chiefs because of missed calls or bad calls are now saying they helped the chiefs because before the announcement of the call, it was discussed and called correctly. The most egregious part of this TH-cam video, is that it was never mentioned who false started. If the officials made the right call, how is it "Worse than we think?" Upon the snap being fumbled, I would expect that officials would run in from all angles to help confirm who recovered the ball. When I read the title of this video, I expected much more.
Here's what I saw from the actual game footage. The Raiders were not lined up correctly. The tight end can be seen signaling to the receiver that he needs to back up from the line of scrimmage. The QB is looking at the TE as he's doing this. The right guard taps the center telling him to snap the ball. As the ball is snapped, the receiver at the top of the screen moves backwards. There was not a false start, period. The referee screwed up the call and runs in blowing his whistle. At this point, the call is wrong and there is a fumble on the play. Players know that even if the whistle blows, if there is a fumble then recover it because if there is a clear recovery it can be overturned on review. Because it was clearly recovered by the Chiefs, the whistle blown doesn't matter. This is the same thing that happens when the ball carrier fumbles and the refs blow it dead. Upon review, they can correct it if there is a clear recovery. After discussing it, they dismiss the false start because they knew it was actually an illegal shift. With the ball on the ground, it didn't matter that the whistle was blown.
It’s absolutely irrefutable at this point, the NFL officiating is 100% in the Chiefs favor. As a Steelers fan I’m absolutely NOT looking forward to my Christmas being ruined by the Refs. The NFL will do anything to help the Chiefs 3-peat.

There was no pile that the ref would have had to rush in to determine who had the football. The Chiefs obviously had it pretty quickly. Whatever else happened, I just want to point that out as you were using the ref's lack of urgency to dive in to see who had it as evidence that the play was dead.
Ok, I will admit that I probably have 1/1000000 football knowledge as you guys but after watching YOUR video several times it is still obvious that the back judge threw his flag well before the far side line judge came in to call off sides. The back judge threw the flag for illegal motion
Plays are not dead when an official runs with his hands up. Plays are dead when the officials blow whistles. No whistle was blown until after the normal course of play, after the Chiefs had recovered the fumble. Replay the play. Slo mo it. Run it at full speed. I don't care, Amy way you cut it the whistle blew stopping play AFTER the fumble recovery. I don't care if you played college ball somewhere.
The Center Snapped the Ball, bounced off the Quarterback’s Chest onto the ground. The Ball is still live until someone recovers it. That’s what I think .
You know the real reason he didn’t dive into the pile? Because there is no pile and Bolton is standing there holding the ball. At least speak to what is on the screen.
3 issues with your "analysis" i - 1) the foul was NOT a false start, it was an illegal formation because the CLOCK was stopped from the previous play and 3 players were moving - that makes the foul a live ball foul (illegal shift) not a dead ball foul - the play doesn't end on that foul. 2) if the umpire wasn't digging into the pile to see who had the ball, it could be that he had complete visibility on what was happening, which if you watch the replay, not a selective freeze frame, the players were kicking the ball around on the ground, it wasn't in anybody's grasp until Bolton jumped on it. 3) the play doesn't end when one ref waves his arms - it ends when the whistle is blown. That didn't happen until Bolton had the ball. Refs got it right - you didn't.
If you are making a claim based on the audio play the audio with the video and prove it for gods sake. Several of these videos making claims with 0 proof.
I watched a Kansas City game this year I can't recall what the opponent they were playing was but their opponent was outside three of them was ruled offside and I watched the play over and over again even zoomed in and the only thing I could see is they blinked
The Raiders had missed opportunities as well as Kansas. My family is diehard Raider fans for 30 years, I happen to be a Chiefs fan, there were a lot of mistakes. I watched the Chief’s vs Texans game, ref’s there were not calling holding or any penalties that were in favor of the Chiefs.
@ yeah after the ball is recovered by KC. What is your point? No Raider player said anything about hearing a whistle before then. You are sad and delusional.
The sideline ref blew the whistle wanting to call a False Start moving the ball 5 yards (making it more difficult for kicker), once they saw the Kc Chrefs recover the dead ball" they handed it to em" 🤷♂️
If this was the first time this call was overruled you might have a point. Calls are overruled because they're wrong and this was no different. The fumble was clearly recovered by bolton. But if you want a team to win on a bad false start even though they clearly fumbled over win cause the bad call was overruled i think ur wrong. Honestly, the raiders weren't going to win anyway lol
EDIT: Even Pat Mahomes couldn't believe the call. He was like "this is getting too obvious". PS Im a diehard Chiefs fan. OOPS! I just went to Chat GPT and got an objective evaluation of Illegal Shift vs False start by asking it the question "Please give an evaluation of the following two NFL Penalties: False Start vs Illegal Shift". It gave a through technical comparison including a table. Here what it said: Evaluation of NFL Penalties: False Start vs. Illegal Shift False Start: Definition: A false start occurs when an offensive player (usually a lineman or another player in a set position) moves in a way that simulates the start of the play before the ball is snapped. Key Characteristics: Typically involves abrupt or jerky motion. It is a dead-ball foul, meaning the play is immediately stopped and does not proceed. Common offenders are offensive linemen, wide receivers, or players in motion who fail to reset. Penalty: Results in a 5-yard loss for the offensive team. No play occurs after the foul is called, as it is blown dead. Impact on the Game: Disrupts offensive rhythm. Particularly costly in short-yardage or crucial downs (e.g., 3rd and short). Often indicative of poor focus, nerves, or communication issues. Illegal Shift: Definition: An illegal shift occurs when two or more offensive players move or shift positions and fail to come to a complete stop for at least one second before the ball is snapped. Key Characteristics: Unlike a false start, motion itself is not the issue but rather the failure to reset after motion. Often involves miscommunication or poor timing on motions or shifts. Penalty: Results in a 5-yard loss, but the play is allowed to proceed unless the penalty is accepted. This is a live-ball foul, meaning the result of the play is considered if the defense declines the penalty. Impact on the Game: Affects offensive timing and execution, especially for teams that use frequent pre-snap motion. Indicates a lack of synchronization or discipline in the offense. CONCLUSION: NFL made the correct call. Raiders lost fair and square.
@@Grabby81no lol. You and your friend are idiots lol. The ref ran onto the field and signaled false start, and blew his whistle. The ref blew the play dead, the ref may have made the wrong call. However, He still blew the play dead. The refs screwed up and then corrected their mistake after the fact. That's the issue.
But then they signed off on "My Cause, My Cleats". NFL logic is insane sometimes.
That's a poor decision by the NFL. It's cancer awareness month, that should have been allowed to honor his family in that manner
Support the UFL, and help it grow while showing the errors that the NFL is making since Goodell became commissioner.
Side judges are not allowed to run on the field during play unless they are blowing it dead.
Which he did when Bolton was on the ball
Where is it in the rulebook?
@Cuddlebunchesofoats It's not explicitly a rule, but during game play only 3 of the 7 refs are allowed on the field during active plays to insure there is no interference with game play.
How is it possible a ref blowing a play dead can be overruled? ...The fix was in yet again.

Sorry, the refs missed a Raider facemasking a chief ( I think it was Mahomes, but maybe there were 2). Chiefs not getting all the calls - that's just crybaby.

It’s a truth in all sports that you cannot let the refs dictate the game by failing to execute on your end.

Total bs

Just another reason why the Chiefs have become the Raiders, and the Raiders have become the 1980's Chiefs.
There are rules and there are Raider rules.
And another R on top that rigging..
Bengals & Raiders playoff game where the whistle was blown and the touchdown pass thrown by the Bengals *after the whistle* still counted.
...and then add rules for the Chiefs no one else gets. Remember that interception in the playoffs called back to save the Chiefs against the Bengals.
Two people were moving before the snap, the left end and the right guard. That's why this is illegal shift.

*dead ball
What?
Whistle blows play over
@colleenc9286 Whistle was not blown until after the fumble was recovered.
"Since the clock was stopped (spike on the 2nd down play), an illegal shift is a live ball foul."
And there you have it folks. There is no boogey-man
Once a play has been blown dead it is dead. Full stop.
It's an inadvertent whistle then and it's dead anyway. It's the ref fault to begin with and the leagues incapable of admitting fault.
Doesn't matter, they blew it dead.
Everyone is in an uproar because it was inexplicably changed to an illegal shift after BEING BLOWN DEAD, thus ensuring victory for the Chiefs.
totaly agree with everything you say and what makes it worse is that all turnovers are supposed to be reviewed so even after review they left it stand.
i think he didnt "dive in" to figure out the fumble possession is because Bolton already had the ball and was standing there with the ball.

They were the politically correct team, and the refs made it happen! Games are easily decided by bad calls, and non calls. Especially in the playoffs when teams are nearly equally talented.
It's only dead if a whistle was blown. Yes, Max Crosby should rush the passer if there's no whistle, you always play to the whistle.
It’s my understanding that the whistle doesn’t end the play. The play ends for whatever reason decided by the official(s) and whistles are then blown to tell the players that the play is over.
Whistle signifies the play is dead. Whether inadvertent or not. An inadvertent whistle results in a replay of down.
The ref running in from the top of the screen motioning false start blew his whistle so that means the play is dead
Whistle was blown
@Justaduck-u3o it didn't end the play in the playoff game between Bengals and raiders a few years back when there was an inadvertent whistle near the end of the first half and the Bengals got a TD on the play
This was the worst explanation I’ve seen on TH-cam. The raiders receiver at the top of the screen was lined up in the neutral zone, thus the play does not have to be ruled dead. The center and O’Connell screwed up big time as the Chiefs recovered the fumbled “backwards pass”.
Play is NEVER dead. until the whistle is blown. you start calling the play dead because a "ref left his position" you have problems
Refs don't run in from the sideline signalling false start if the play hasn't been blown dead.
B.S. "no dog in this fight."
Haha my thoughts exactly. This was not an impartial analysis at all. Completely one sided and borders on propaganda due to the many details left out.
@jeff8476 When you use the word 'egregious' 5 times, your bias is kinda obvious.
You obviously don't watch Chiefs game if you think they're never the victim of controversial calls.
Thank you for explaining the Facts of what happened.
Bam. For all the chefs fans. Who don't know the rules. Here it is. Proof KC got help

Great video guys !!!!!!
I’ve got a novel idea: How about if the Raiders field goal kicker makes just one out of his three missed field goal attempts? Maybe that’ll stop the crying.
Professional officiating is necessary in a game that generates this much revenue.
Nothing that happens after the whistle is blown should count. But the whistle wasn't blown until the Chiefs had recovered the ball. So all that matters was whether it was a false start or an illegal shift. According to the statement issued by the NFL, it was indeed an illegal shift.
Lets not 4 get carlson missed 3 fgsthough...
Yes! We need a new kicker.
That was his chance for redemption.
I doubt you would say that if he had one more chance to win the game at the end and made it
he's joggging in because the photo you are talking about the chiefs have the ball
Doesn't change that the DJ blew it dead, making everything after, including the recovery, after the play was over
But a whistle stops the play. What you are saying is true if there is no whistle, but there was a whistle...and then they huddled and changed the call.
You're trying to have the blown dead play officiating error overlooked because it benefitted the Chumps, again! This video is about what truly happened, not your bias.
Great explanation guys ❤
"Company men" helped the Chiefs win.
as always
The NFL is not a sport. It is a Entertainment Company.
Everybody knows that the refs are on the Chief side
ur r full of shit! we had plenty of offensive flaggs, rewatch the game

@@NWstockoperator yeah then they changed the call and gave the ball the chiefs when it should have been a dead bot.
In your third pic the play is over because Bolton is standing up celebrating and he is the one who recovered the ball. Plus if you watch it there is no whistle till after the fumble and recovery. Might be the wrong call, but your reasoning is wrong.
These guys have no idea what they're talking about. The ref wasn't "diving into the pile" because it was a clear recovery by Nick Bolton.
It's actually not the wrong call because an illegal shift is only a dead ball foul IF the clock is running, not if the clock is stopped. It's just the rule, like it or not. The refs messed up in this game but nobody is talking bout how they ran 10 seconds off the clock due to an officials mistake...
Yes! Thank you! Finally someone who gets it. This video did a terrible analysis.
Sports betting
Why would the ref jump in... there was no pile..32 already stood up with the ball
Raiders created the mess....Just kick the FG like 90% of the NFL other teams would have done !!!
Who was guilty of the false start?
It is very interesting that those who say the refs are helping the chiefs because of missed calls or bad calls are now saying they helped the chiefs because before the announcement of the call, it was discussed and called correctly. The most egregious part of this TH-cam video, is that it was never mentioned who false started. If the officials made the right call, how is it "Worse than we think?" Upon the snap being fumbled, I would expect that officials would run in from all angles to help confirm who recovered the ball. When I read the title of this video, I expected much more.
No need to get so complex The official signaled dead ball at the snap. No play and no turnover can happen afterwards
It wasn't called dead though. Illegal shift and bad snap that was recovered by KC. Very simple.
Incorrect. Learn football 101.
@@vihtoripuurola3775 It was called dead when the ref across the field waved his arms over his head, that ended the play.
@@ginjazz4179 bolton already had the ball at that point
@@myhoodiskc So?

So........the raider players had nothing to do with botching the final play of the game, right? OK.
That’s irrelevant the botch play is the false start bird brain..
@36madness delusional fool had a thought? Let me guess. Typical chiefs hater, right? Lol
@36madness the botched play was clearly a recoverable fumble doofus. Ever watch a nfl game before?
Where was the false start? I watched the play several times and didn't see a false start. Can you point that out?

Been saying it. Last 2 or 3 seasons is showing how truly Mahommes is overrated. How many games have they won without the zebras helping them win?

I watched a Kansas City game this year I can't recall what the opponent they were playing was but their opponent was outside three of them was ruled offside and I watched the play over and over again even zoomed in and the only thing I could see is they blinked
The Raiders had missed opportunities as well as Kansas. My family is diehard Raider fans for 30 years, I happen to be a Chiefs fan, there were a lot of mistakes. I watched the Chief’s vs Texans game, ref’s there were not calling holding or any penalties that were in favor of the Chiefs.
Kansas does not have an NFL football team.
@ they may not but their still 11-1…ugly wins are still wins…
Very unconvincing. They did not blow the play dead. You are taught to play until the whistle blows. Raider favs are straight up self-delusional.
When ref come in hands and arms waving it is a "Dead Ball"!!!!! That is obvious without hearing the whistle plus the clock was not running
@ yeah after the ball is recovered by KC. What is your point? No Raider player said anything about hearing a whistle before then. You are sad and delusional.
Hmmm... apparently you guys are the only ones who think the call was 'egregious'...
They penalized the raiders for the refs mistaken call. I totally agree with them.
All seasons the Refs has been cheating for KC!!!!!!
The truth is the chiefs get help every Sunday and the Raiders have to beat opponents and the refs to win games
The further truth is that AP lost us that game, not the refs. He should have just lined up and kicked the field goal from 49 yards right then.
As a 46 year old lifelong Raiders fan, why am I not surprised? Needles to say, it was a stupid decision to even run that play.
The recovery happened after the whistle. Even if the DJ was wrong to blow it, he still did. Play is over.
@WhydoIsuddenlyhaveahandle boo fuckn hoo
Here what it said:
Evaluation of NFL Penalties: False Start vs. Illegal Shift
False Start:
Definition: A false start occurs when an offensive player (usually a lineman or another player in a set position) moves in a way that simulates the start of the play before the ball is snapped.
Key Characteristics:
Typically involves abrupt or jerky motion.
It is a dead-ball foul, meaning the play is immediately stopped and does not proceed.
Common offenders are offensive linemen, wide receivers, or players in motion who fail to reset.
Penalty:
Results in a 5-yard loss for the offensive team.
No play occurs after the foul is called, as it is blown dead.
Impact on the Game:
Disrupts offensive rhythm.
Particularly costly in short-yardage or crucial downs (e.g., 3rd and short).
Often indicative of poor focus, nerves, or communication issues.
Illegal Shift:
Definition: An illegal shift occurs when two or more offensive players move or shift positions and fail to come to a complete stop for at least one second before the ball is snapped.
Key Characteristics:
Unlike a false start, motion itself is not the issue but rather the failure to reset after motion.
Often involves miscommunication or poor timing on motions or shifts.
Penalty:
Results in a 5-yard loss, but the play is allowed to proceed unless the penalty is accepted.
This is a live-ball foul, meaning the result of the play is considered if the defense declines the penalty.
Impact on the Game:
Affects offensive timing and execution, especially for teams that use frequent pre-snap motion.
Indicates a lack of synchronization or discipline in the offense.
CONCLUSION: NFL made the correct call. Raiders lost fair and square.
Thank you for being honest. It was obvious to most people 🤙🏼
