      Having lived in GB for a fairly short time, I’ve learned that the stock sales must first be approved by the league owners, and that the funds cannot result in a competitive advantage for the Packers.
      The funds must benefit all (e.g., community, paying fans, visiting teams, etc.), thus, the ongoing developments and improvements to Lambeau Field, and its connection to the Title Town District (which is an exceptional addition to the mystique of the franchise). 👍🏽🧀🏈

    The team which would become the Chicago Bears was founded in 1920 and owned by a certain A. E. Staley, who called his team the Decatur Staleys. After one season, Mr. Staley sold his team to future HOFer George Halas, giving Mr. Halas a discount if he promised to retain the name "Staleys" for one more season. Halas did that, and the 1921 Chicago Staleys won the first of the franchise's current 9 championships. He changed the name to the Chicago Bears in 1922. George Halas owned the Bears until his death in 1983. His daughter, Virginia McCaskey, inherited the team at that time, and has owned it ever since. As of this writing, Mrs. McCaskey, born 1/5/1923, is about two weeks shy of 102 years old.

    This list is deceptive. How much of these owners' worth is the team? Owners whose wealth is mostly the team (70% or more) aren't 'rich'. Those owners don't have the freedom to acquire players/resources. Owners high on this list also prove that money doesn't guarantee success.
    Rich folks always figure out a way to spend other folks' money to get rich.
    I think some owners would love to build their own stadiums, but politicians want a piece of that action, too, thus the horse-trading that goes on when a new stadium is needed/wanted.

    How can some teams be wealthier than the Rooney family, considering they've owned the Steelers for decades? The Steelers have made numerous playoff appearances, won six Super Bowls (and should have won a seventh against the Packers), consistently sell out their stadium throughout the season, and even have fans buying out tickets in other teams' stadiums. So why are fewer successful teams richer than the Steelers' ownership? Is it because Rooney's has more owners and different ownership structures compared to the other NFL ownership?

  • @ronframe387

    • @RickC-4
      @RickC-4 13 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

      The stadiums don't actually belong to the teams. They belong to the city. The city(and state) want them because of the revenue professional sports franchises bring to the city and state, as well as, the JOBS produced by their existence.
      They actually BENEFIT the city and the people more than anything else in the city!!

      He didn't 'make' billions. He is worth 2.3 billion, including the ownership stake of the Raiders. It is a know fact that Davis doesn't have a lot of liquid cash, which is why he has struggled paying high guaranteed bonuses. It is also why he brought Brady in as an owner.

      @shawnfrey4757 How can you defend him??? He has done nothing but make bad decisions. I'm willing to bet he told his dad he had the right to the Las Vegas Raiders name and Al probably told him he was an idiot. I sat in his box in Oakland with George Atkinson and I listened to Mark. He is a first class IDIOT. He knew he would destroy the legacy his dad built by moving to Vegas. He only wanted the money and fame. He is not a Raider PERIOD and they will never win a playoff game with him in charge
