Hi coach! I’m pursuing one year PG Diploma in Project Management. My background study fully aligns with construction industry. Now i have a option to change my field of study. Can i go from construction to health industry? Like one year PSW program. Is it put any bad effects on my PGWP because of changing industry ?

Just a question I am an international student planning to study in Canada, but I'm having difficulty deciding between two programs: Creative Advertising (CAB) and Computer Systems Technician (CSN). I am an IT graduate with work experience primarily in marketing. Given my background and considering potential changes that IRCC may implement in the future, which program would be more practical and in demand?

Changes for good are welcomed, but you can not expect to change the rules so fast... There are people who already are in their process; it is not fair to just say we do not need business students anymore and break all the plans made. It must be progressive; if Canada messes up on students already here, not only chaos will be on the streets... I am pretty sure.
its good to know that they’re discussing it for future students, but I can imagine the anxiety it can bring to current students too. For now, we should prep for back plan, but wait for the official policy before doing anything coz right now its hard to say coz those are just speculations.
You are supposed to study and go back. The PR dream is sold to you by your immigration agent not Government of Canada.
The changes are drastic and never-ending. I now plan to defer my studies until fall 2025.
If you’re about to take non- in demand program, then wait until Fall 2025. Unless you are taking a program i. healthcare, tech, trades or masters degree.

Hi Coach, I have a pretty unique case here. I applied at Uvic for Jan 2024 intake but last year, before I applied my student visa, I got a working holiday visa in Australia so I deferred my Business diploma course to Sept 2024. So what you are stating here is that I need to get a job to an in-demand job, but Business related jobs are not in-demand, so you are suggesting me to move to other class? Am I right?

chrck the list on the express entry category based. Unfortunately healthcafe admin is not included, but you wait for the officially policy re: the list of occupations coz it will really depend on the area too.
I was wondering, if my course finishes in May, would I be able to join for a course in the September. Because theres 3 months gap is that possible?

Hi Coach, how about those students who are currently taking up business program but was lucky enough to be hired in one of the in-demand jobs here in BC? I am currently working as a theater technician, got a job offer even though I am still on my second year of taking up business management diploma. And this is because of my employment background. Would it still be difficult for me to get a PGWP?I have this misconception that my job should be aligned with my field of studies here in Canada even though I graduated from a technology course back in the Philippines. Your thoughts coach?

if u are outside canada and planning to change the school u will need to get a new study permit
I am fed up of these piece meal changes. I consulted the college and they assured us of pgwp. Still, there is uncertainty because of these unpredictable changes.
You will definitely get your PGWP. You may not PR after that if your primary intention is getting PR.

I work in RCIC,alots of student get scammed from their agents from their country,they didn’t get a valid information.

I dont think ECE will be affected coz that program is highly in demand, but wait for the official policy just to be sure.

Hello, ask ko lang ECE ako dito sa toronto at partime job sa Saturday and Sunday ng couple na matanda. Pwede ma change yong status to to working visa kaai they arw willing to hire me as permanent caregiver na sa kanila. At may husband has an OWP and student rin yong bunso ko. Kailangan rin ba maghanap ng employer si OWP para continue siya ng work here? Salamat sa reply at baka diyan na ako magrefer sa inyo as my consultant Ms. MJ. God bless!!
I think the govt shld have done these changes years ago. They issued too many visas and it’s now out of control.

If you applied as a "Student" and worried about getting a "Work Permit", you already fooled yourself from the very beginning.
Student visa is a not the correct pathway to PR. You may or may not succeed, but once you failed, then take the full responsibility and not pass the blame to others.
