Nothing the minister said suggests it's going to get easier. Consider this before uprooting your family and possibly going into debt to finance this pathway.
Not every international student has the desire to get PR though. And of course you should not go into debt for it. And there are many other pathways to PR.
i met a girl from india who did her masters in engineer here...she hasn't landed a long term job after graduating and is pretty depressed over her job prospects. It's hard enough for local students not finding a job, but imagine being an international student, taking on massive debt and having your families hopes and dreams invested in you. You should not go into debt for it, that's for sure. But as an engineer? Maybe she has to move to a different city in Canada but she should be able to find something after a while.
She should apply to big corporations. They are going through Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) programs. The plan is to hire more female engineers to correct past wrongs. Small companies are slow to adopt DEI.
Thanks for telling the truth!!! I definitely concur. Newcomers also don't know that Canada changed a lot in the last 10 years. I visited Canada, before I came here for college in 2014 and 2015 and situation was very different here. Back in 204, 2015, even 5 years ago housing was affordable, life was better, generally speaking.
Can an International student on Study Permit in Canada pursuing his/her PGDM course have an Express Entry profile and get selected under STEM category draw? I believe students need not have PGWP to have an express entry profile. Thoughts?
Technically anyone can apply for PR at any time as long as they meet the requirements. Then it depends on their CRS score whether they will succeed or not. Yes sometimes the working spouse just needs a year of work experience to have enough points / meet the requirements and applies for PR.
The fact is, the number of international students in Canada is similar to that of the United States, a country that has 10x more people. This is a clear problem in Canada - the society cannot and should not absorb so many international students.
@@Ara198826 that's great for corporations and colleges. Not for the average person, there's worsening services and affordability. Income per capita is also dropping.

Hi Coach…good day…may I humbly ask…as an International student do I have to have a WES evaluation of my bachelors degree in the Philippines for my PGWP and PR application in the future? thank you
Some Master degree applications may require ECA for equivalency (such as people with 3-yr Bachelor degrees or HND), not all. For PR, you input the highest level of education. If it is from Canada, then no ECA is required. For some workers who gained Canadian work experience with foreign education credential, they will need to get ECA.

A Co-op is basically just an internship during your studies. It does usually not affect the changes of getting PR as it is considered part of your studies.
Companies prefer to see the same students coming through in their co-op rotations because training is progressive. Companies are looking for potential new hires; so don't fool around at work.

How effective is this as I used to be skeptical only principal applicants are the ones who can make such decisions.
Hi and thanks for subscribing. So in theory everybody can apply for PR at any time if they meet the application requirements. Sometimes The spouse of the student can gain enough work experience while their partner is still studying and go ahead and apply for PR. It really depends on the profile of the applicant what PR stream they might qualify for and if it makes sense to apply. It doesn't have to be the student that's applying.

If it's a post grad program, it should not be difficult to get a PR. However, if you are coming to Canada straight after completing highschool, I would recommend moving to Atlantic provinces or provinces that have PNP because after a diploma, firstly, you wouldn't get a management job easily and also, CRS score would be too low.

hi coach! my daughter is taking up LPN or practical nurse this winter 2024 and she’s only 18yrs old. Do you think after graduation and taking PGWP she has a high chance for pr? thank you ! 😊
LPN is in-demand and is one of 35 prioritized health occupations announced by IRCC in 2023. It qualifies for health category Express Entry draws with lower CRS cutoffs for ITA (invitation to apply). After graduation, study and pass NCLEX exam to obtain provincial nursing license. If failed, one can re-take it every 45 days (for a fee); up to 8x a year. With license, apply for LPN jobs in hospitals of that province. Work 1560 days. File Express Entry. She can also file PNP at the same time. PR prospect is excellent. Avoid Quebec because it requires a French language test for licensure.
it is being prioritized right now in pnp and ee, however is she is still young, she might need to gain experience in canada to boost pts for work experience.
You can find jobs in logistics here in Canada, its better get a program in supplychain than a general admin. Get a more concentrated position so you have less competition, but if you can also partner this program with agriculture, or transportation related program that would be better (1+1 option.
In some provinces, they have supply chain management in their PNPs. You need to choose your province of study carefully. Supply chain managers are not in the 82 prioritized occupations announced by IRCC in 2023 so you won't qualify for category-based Express Entry draws with lower CRS cutoffs.

Can an International student on Study Permit in Canada pursuing his/her PGDM course have an Express Entry profile and get selected under STEM category draw? I believe students need not have PGWP to have an express entry profile. Thoughts?
As far as I know you can apply for express entry at any time, even if you are currently on a study permit, pgwp etc.
Thank heavens. Listen to the English language literacy level.
In Ontario, is the spouse (seconday applicant) of an international student (primary applicant) able to apply for the PR after working for a year?
Technically anyone can apply for PR at any time as long as they meet the requirements. Then it depends on their CRS score whether they will succeed or not. Yes sometimes the working spouse just needs a year of work experience to have enough points / meet the requirements and applies for PR.
The fact is, the number of international students in Canada is similar to that of the United States, a country that has 10x more people. This is a clear problem in Canada - the society cannot and should not absorb so many international students.
Canada earns 100 billion dollars from international students annually

It is not a prioritized occupation in Express Entry. Look for a province with PNP for this occupation.
I suggest apply for ECA, I was also able to use my bachelors in the PH for my pr.

Coach MC, thank you for the information and to keep us updated. How about the Co-op student can you make some video about that if how it works. Thank you i hope you will notice this. 🙂
A Co-op is basically just an internship during your studies. It does usually not affect the changes of getting PR as it is considered part of your studies.
Companies prefer to see the same students coming through in their co-op rotations because training is progressive. Companies are looking for potential new hires; so don't fool around at work.
What about hospitality and tourism operations management course
You will need to look for a PNP pathway for this occupation. Start with BC PNP, Alberta PNP, etc.

Hi coach thanks to your videos I plan to study in canada as business in sales and marketing. Is it a good choice?
If you have good English communication skills, then it is okay. For many immigrants, English is not their mother tongue so they tend to study STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) fields.
No commerce jobs are in the 82 prioritized occupations announced by IRCC in 2023. hello, is business - management and entrepreneurship (co-op version) considered a general management job? Will it be hard for me to obtain PGWP and go to PR pathway?
If it's a post grad program, it should not be difficult to get a PR. However, if you are coming to Canada straight after completing highschool, I would recommend moving to Atlantic provinces or provinces that have PNP because after a diploma, firstly, you wouldn't get a management job easily and also, CRS score would be too low.

Look for "Express Entry rounds of invitations: Category-based selection" and review the 35 health occupations. Choose your major accordingly.
Canada just make money from Students. Money for school and taxes from your work. I would advice to come to Canada or other wealthy countries who accept students only of your younger like 21-30 yrs old. But if your going abroad at the age of 40 as a student and up i would advice you to live contented in your country and enjoy the remainder of your life. Heads up also to the weather and the new culture environment and that’s another challenge.
Why waste too much money for SV? Also SV wont allow you to work full time. i suggest that show also the reality of those people in Canada thats on SV.

hi coach! my daughter is taking up LPN or practical nurse this winter 2024 and she’s only 18yrs old.
Hi, Coach MC! What’s your thought about the Supply Chain & Logistics program in CA?
You can find jobs in logistics here in Canada, its better get a program in supplychain than a general admin. Get a more
concentrated position so you have less competition, but if you can also partner this program
with agriculture, or transportation related program that would be better (1+1 option.
In some provinces, they have supply chain management in their PNPs. You need to choose your province of study carefully. Supply chain managers are not in the 82 prioritized occupations announced by IRCC in 2023 so you won't qualify for category-based Express Entry draws with lower CRS cutoffs.
